Intro:
The next bout on tonight's PPV sees the first meeting of two stunning former BBU champions, Joan Smalls and Doutzen Kroes step into the BBU arena in Cardiff for this bout.

Joan is 31 years old; she stands 5'10 ½, holding a record of 11 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with only 1 defeat, she is a former BBU welterweight champion.

Doutzen is 35 years old; she stands 5'10, holding a record of 18 wins, 17 coming by way of knockout, with 11 defeats, she is a former FCBA lightweight champion.

Both women obviously want to be back on top of the mountain with gold around their waists, seeing the other as a chance to make a step towards another title shot.

Sitting in the BBU TV studio with Denise Van Outen doing the interviews, Joan is first into the hot seat as she sits wearing a black dress with a white belt across the middle.

She is asked about her feelings about this contest, Joan smiles as she says "I'm confident I can win against Doutzen as I do anyone else, only Bo (Krsmanovic) has beaten me so far, when I hopefully get my rematch against Bo I'll rectify that"

When asked she is looking past Kroes, Joan replies "oh no I wouldn't do that to Doutzen, she can hit and has always had good technique, let's be frank though that the only reason she came into my division is she can't make the lightweight limit, she is playing with the real sharks in the BBU, not the little pussycats"

Joan adds "I'll be make sure Doutzen understands that fact" standing up with a smile, before reaching down to give Denise a handshake then leaves the set.

When Doutzen comes on the set, she is wearing a pink dress with black trim, beaming as usual as she gives Denise a hug before they sit down.

Doutzen is asked the same question as Joan was, her answer is "I know Joan will be coming into this the favourite, with her record and knockout power, I realise I am up against it in peoples eyes"

She continues "but I always bank on myself to win, hell I've been the underdog since I stepped up a weight division, since then I have beaten former champions and shown my power has moved up with me, I'm not afraid of Joan and trust me once she sees that, that confidence will simply fade away"

The final question is how close does she feel to a BBU welterweight title shot against Bo, Doutzen answers "you'll have to ask her, I am on a good run and feel I have to be near the top of the division, she knows my phone number if she wants to give me a shot" finishing the interview as she gives Denise another hug before leaving.

Fight night; Joan is out first with Melanie Sykes and Eva Carneiro beside her, she jogs down the aisle waving to the fans, looking totally relaxed about what is ahead.

The Puerto Rican is wearing a black sports bra with a diamond mesh pattern between her boobs, black trunks with "Smalls" in silver letters down her left leg, black shoes, silver gloves, while her brunette hair is braided.

Stepping into the ring, Joan jogs over to her corner while waving, getting into her fighting mode when she gets there, running through punching drills as she awaits her opponent.

Who comes out soon enough with Nicole Ritchie behind her, Doutzen has a big smile as she looks excited by the prospect in front of her, Nicole rubbing her shoulders as they walk down the aisle.

The Dutch fighter has on a black sports bra with orange trim, black trunks with orange trim, "Kroes" in gold letters on the waistband, black shoes, orange gloves, her blonde hair is tied into a ponytail.

Climbing into the ring, Doutzen blows kisses to her fans as she heads to her corner, she is chatting to Nicole about tactics as she stretches.

The referee brings the fighters together to the center of the ring, neither looks threatened by their opponent as they shake their arms and legs to keep loose.

Told to touch their gloves together, they respectful do as told before turning to their corners, the referee signals for the bell to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Both start off with probing punches, for all their talk of confidence of winning this fight, they both know they can't walk through their opponent.

Doutzen is the first to slip a punch to step in and land a body shot with her right, just missing with an overhand left as Joan leans back, then comes back at Doutzen with a straight to the top of her head.

It's pretty even after the first minute, they are trading more in closer after feeling out process, cheeks taking the brunt of their attacks with cross punches.

Using her left to jab Doutzen in the chest, Joan sees an opening in the blondes guard appear, where she rams her right through to knock the head back.

Soon Joan has Doutzen moving around near the ropes, she is opening up more as Kroes is stuck on the defensive, only throwing single punches back as she can't get out from behind her guard.

The round comes to an end with Joan grinning as she returns to her corner, Melanie telling her "great start but don't think every round will be like that"

Round 2:
Stepping back out their corners with their game faces on, they are throwing more punches to start after getting to know one another in the opening round.

Each is head hunting right now, Joan seems to be landing the cleaner shots to the face of Doutzen, trying to walk her down towards the ropes.

Instead she misses with a straight when Doutzen dips down, Kroes starts working the body of Joan, who shoves her back to open up room to land her punches.

The fighters go head to head in a hard hitting exchange, Doutzen switches things up though by dipping down and using her left shoulder to bump Joan back a step.

Two overhand punches land to push Smalls further back, Doutzen showing off her power as they enter the final minute of the round, keeping Joan under wraps near the ropes like she was in the first round.

At the bell Joan thuds her gloves together in a sign of frustration, returning to her corner to be told off Mel that she told her so, maybe not the best thing to say as Joan just stares at her coldly.

Things are much more chipper in the Lookout! Corner, Nicole giving Doutzen the thumbs up on a great round there, Doutzen smiling in return.

Round 3:
Back out they come with a jabbing exchange to start things off, Doutzen dips under one soon enough so she can get another go at the abs of Joan.

Who nudges back the older fighter so she can hammer in a jab/straight to her face, Joan beginning to press back Doutzen towards a set of ropes with another two clean shots to the face.

It looks like Joan has control of things as they head into the second half of the round, she has Doutzen mostly stuck along the ropes, but isn't landing that many punches as Kroes blocks most of them on her gloves or forearms.

Using her left forearm across the bust of Smalls, Doutzen fights back as she lands a right across her jaw of the Puerto Rican fighter, a left soon follows as Joan finds herself on the back foot.

Nearly getting shoved through the ropes by Doutzen, Joan gets spiked on her nose by a straight, causing a trickle of blood to run from it.

While Joan tries to fight her way off the ropes, she is getting caught with bigger punches then she can land due to her not being able to pull back as far on her punches.

At the bell Joan gives Doutzen a shove for the one that got her on the ropes, the referee needed to stay between them as tempers are starting to rise, lucky for the referee they return to their corners without further incident.

Round 4:
Trading at the center of the ring before circling again, they both are staring hard behind their gloves as there is definitely hard feelings starting to be felt here.

When Doutzen tries to dip down to come in close, Joan slams an uppercut into her face to straighten her up, a left hook follows to send Kroes stumbling back.

Doutzen is covering up as Joan comes roaring at her, the Dutch model can't seem to get out her guard as her forearms are starting to redden up from the hits they are taking.

When a left hook slams into the side of her head, Doutzen pulls Joan into a clinch, their glisten bodies are bumping together as they try to drive each other back, making the referee yell at them as they are broken apart.

Joan though isn't letting Doutzen get going this round, landing a right to the side of Kroe's head, followed by a left across her cheek to make the veteran go back into her shell.

When the bell rings it is a shutout for Joan, who just stares at Doutzen as if to show off her dominance, Doutzen doesn't back away though, making the referee have to nudge them back to their corners.

Round 5:
Filled with confidence, Joan is out her corner throwing combos towards the head of her opponent, taking the center of the ring in the opening minute.

Doutzen to her credit is mostly deflecting the punches, taking several to her cheeks but protecting her chin, problem is she isn't landing much in the way of firepower back at her opponent.

Allowing Joan to control the pace of the action, keeping Doutzen herded towards the outside of the ring, switching up her targets more to get through the guard of the blonde.

Heading into the final minute of the round, Joan goes to the body of Doutzen with two hooks, leaving up top open though to an overhand right across her chin, making Smalls stumble back a step.

Eyes light up of Doutzen as she steps in with a left hook, THE UPPERCUT THAT FOLLOWS SENDS JOAN DOWN ONTO HER BACKSIDE TO THE SHOCK OF EVERYONE BAR DOUTZEN!

The referee stands over Joan as she shakes her head to clear cobwebs away, 1...2...3...4.. Slowly Joan begins to get to a knee, she looks a little shaky, 5...6...7.. Pushing herself up to her feet, 8.. Joan beats the count to the relief of her corner.

They resume with Doutzen quick to step in, leading to a flurry of fists flying moments before the bell rings, Joan claims it was a lucky punch to Doutzen, who simply replies "patience darling" laughing when she sees Joan stomp off to her corner.

Though she looked OK when she returned to her corner, Melanie looks worried as she checks her out alongside Eva, Joan telling her to not dare try to stop her going back out.

Across the ring Doutzen's cheeks are worked on as there's some swelling around them, Nicole tells her to simply put down that bytch and end this fight.

Round 6:
While Joan is trying to show she is OK by getting into the face of Doutzen, a right across her jaw has her stumbling again to the side.

Doutzen steps after her with a jab to cause blood to run from Joan's nose again, A RIGHT TO THE SIDE OF JOAN'S HEAD SENDS HER TUMBLING TO THE CANVAS ON HER SIDE!

Melanie has her head in her hands, thinking the worst as the count begins 1...2...3...4.. Joan slowly turns to all fours, 5...6...7... Reaching for the ropes, 8...9.. She gets to her feet and raises her gloves up, the referee checks her and surprisingly let's her continue.

Joan tries to fire out a right hook to try to catch out Doutzen, it misses as Doutzen easily telegraphs it, instead an uppercut smacks Joan onto her heels.

With Joan soon enough knocked into a corner, she is trying to cover up as the referee stands close by to watch her, MEL TAKES IT OUT THE REFEREE'S HANDS BY THROWING THE TOWEL INTO THE RING, THE REFEREE SPOTS IT AND ENDS THE FIGHT!

Winner Doutzen Kroes TKO Round 6

After:
Another big statement win for Doutzen as she moves towards another title shot, she raises her fists as she returns to her corner.

While Melanie rushes into the ring to face an upset Joan, who asks her why she threw in the towel, Melanie replies "I'll never question your toughness but you couldn't do anything there, she had you beat tonight"

Returning to her corner with Melanie acting like a crutch, it's clear her legs are jelly as she holds onto the ropes beside her too, looking relieved when she gets to her stool as it seems to have registered she wasn't in any shape to continue.

Across from them the Lookout! Crew are all celebrating, praising Doutzen as she sits on her stool and enjoys the moment, her gloves getting taken off by Nicole who says "one down, can't be far to go before you become a two weight champ"

After both women have been cleaned up, they head to the center of the ring, neither looks exactly happy to be near each other as they lock eyes, Doutzen certainly becomes happier when her hand is raised in the air.

Joan telling her "you'll see me in her again before long" Doutzen replying "I can't wait to see you then bytch" making Joan nod at her with an angry expression.

Leaving the ring with the Girls Friday crew, Joan looks to the heavens wondering how she lost the fight, Melanie just happy she doesn't look to have been badly hurt other then a sore nose and some swelling around her cheeks.

While Doutzen poses with Nicole beside her, she has her hands on her hips smiling as she loves this part of winning, though as she waves her hands around her waist to signal she wants a title around it, that's the main goal for her.

Stepping out the ring with Nicole and the rest of the Lookout! Corner team, Doutzen looks like she will be smiling all this year judging by how big her current smile is.
