Intro:
Now two elite welterweights fight it out tonight, Gemma Atkinson returns to the BBU to take on Doutzen Kroes, both former champions after more gold in their careers in the BBU Arena.

Gemma is 35 years old; she stands 5'9, holding a record of 21 wins, 19 coming by way of knockout, with 30 defeats, she is a former FCBA welterweight champion.

Doutzen is 34 years old; she stands 5'10, holding a record of 17 wins, 16 coming by way of knockout, with 11 defeats, she is a former BBU lightweight champion.

The fighters were interviewed before the fight on the BBU TV network by Denise Van Outen, first in the hot seat is Gemma wearing a white tank top with black denim jeans and black heels.

Gemma smiles as she shakes hands with Denise, then says "it is great to be back in the BBU, not having to fly and stay in America for a time is nice to have for a chance"

She is asked about her opponent, Gemma answers "Doutzen is a great fighter, I have been on cards with her in the past, she was a hell of a lightweight champion"

Gemma continues as she brushes some of her blonde locks behind her ear "the thing is can Doutzen really compete at this weight? I'll give her credit for starting off well but she hasn't beat what I see is an elite fighter, which is what makes me more confident that my hand will be raised"

Sitting forwards Gemma finishes by saying "I expect to out gun her in exchanges, I am going to remind the fans what I can do in that ring"

Next up is Doutzen, she is wearing a black dress with matching heels, hugging Denise before they sit down ready to talk.

Denise asks how Doutzen feels about this fight, Doutzen answers "as I've said before I will like I have a new lease of life at this weight, the fights have been fun and the test ahead here is more of the same"

She adds "Gemma is a hard hitter, we all know she is a gym rat, so I have to come in at my absolute best unless I want to be kissing the canvas"

Doutzen is then asked how she feels about Romee Strijd and Bo Krsmanovic fighting for the title later and if she feels she can be in the title picture after this fight.

"I'll be watching the fight closely, I am a little shocked Romee got the shot over me but well me and her can decide whose the better fighter later on" replies Doutzen with a cheeky grin.

Fight night; out comes Gemma with coach Denise Lewis beside her, the actress jogs out to the ring wearing a white sports bra with black trim, white trunks with three black stripes up the side, white shoes, black gloves and her hair is braided.

As she gets into the ring, Gemma pumps her right fist into the air as she heads over to her coach, she looks confident as she works Denise's hands over like punch pads.

Doutzen now heads to the ring with her coach Nicole Ritchie behind her, the model is wearing her Dutch national colours of an orange sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, with her hair also braided.

Climbing into the ring, Doutzen looks excited as she jogs over to her corner, giving the crowd a quick wave before she begins to stretch in her corner.

The fighters are waved to the center of the ring to hear the final instructions by the referee, both grinning as they stand nose to nose with the crowd chanting for them.

Swiping gloves when they are told to touch them up, they seem more interested in starting the fight then to show respect, the bell is rung to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Coming out their corners; Doutzen is moving around on her toes, as Gemma is going straight at her, leading to them landing nice stiff single punches.

Soon enough Doutzen slips a jab to land a right across the cheek of the Brit, getting her rhythm first as Gemma looks a little rusty.

The model landing several hooks across the cheeks of Gemma, marking up her cheeks, while only really taking most punches on her gloves.

But Gemma lands a left across the side of Kroes head when the Dutch model tries to step in close, finally Atkinson starts putting her punches together into the face of Doutzen.

The fighters stand toe to toe in the final thirty seconds, Doutzen not able to move away from the ropes, allowing Gemma to keep her close to them.

At the bell they return to their corner, Doutzen smiling as she nods at Nicole, knowing she come out the blocks well, though Nicole tells her to not get overly confident.

Round 2:
Gemma looks warmed up as she starts to throw more then one punches at a time, both women landing nice punches into the others cheeks.

The actress lands a straight/left hook to knock back Kroes, with Gemma forcing Doutzen around the outside of the ring, keeping Doutzen behind her gloves.

Doutzen has to duck under a right to land a right to the body, followed by a left hook to the tits of Gemma, getting herself off the ropes so she can jab and move around the ring.

But when Doutzen starts to get momentum going, Gemma catches her darting in with a right across her cheek, a double jab drives Doutzen back towards the ropes.

The power of Gemma on show as Doutzen is struggling to get off the ropes, shielding her face but Gemma switches up to the body to force groans from the Dutch fighters lips.

At the bell Doutzen nods at Gemma in a sign of respect, Gemma just grins back knowing that she took this round comfortably in the end.

Round 3:
They are both throwing more when they come together, sweat flying off heads as they let their heads go, Gemma trying to be the aggressor, missing though with a right cross and earns a left to the abs.

Dipping a straight; Doutzen lands an uppercut to the jugs of Gemma, followed by an overhand left when Gemma's guard dips down.

Doutzen is giving Gemma problems with her upper body movement, countering with clean shots to the cheeks of the Brit, reddening them up to give the Lookout! Corner a reason to smile.

But when she steps in a right cross; Gemma steps back out the way, Atkinson cracks a left across the cheek of Kroes, a right lands across the mouth of Doutzen to knock her back.

On comes Gemma with two more punches that snap back the head of her opponent, who is pressed back behind her gloves.

The round ends with Doutzen looking slightly annoyed even after having a good round, Nicole telling her to not simply rush in, feel her way to the inside as Gemma's power isn't something to ignore.

Round 4:
Coming out their corners looking more determined, they nearly clash heads when they step in to throw hooks, Gemma landing a crisp right hook that forces Doutzen to retreat back.

Ducking under a left hook; Doutzen lands two rights to the body, the Dutch fighter bobbing and weaving around the punches of Gemma, targeting the body and boobs of Atkinson.

Nudging back Doutzen with her left forearm, Gemma cracks her across her mouth with a right hook, A LEFT HOOK SENDS DOUTZEN DOWN TO HER LEFT SIDE NEAR THE LOOKOUT CORNER!

Gemma pounds her chest as she stares at Doutzen, telling Nicole "you better throw in the towel for her!" With Nicole giving her the middle finger in reply.

1...2...3.. Doutzen turns and looks at Nicole, 4...5... Beginning to pull herself up using the ropes, 6....7...8.. Getting to her feet with a slight wobble, the referee checks Doutzen and let's her continue.

The final minute sees Gemma look to finish the fight, swinging her right hook when she thinks she has an opening, most missing but one smacks Kroes across her cheek.

Doutzen covers up in a corner in final moments of the round, at the bell Gemma pumps her right fist into the air as she struts back to her corner.

Across the ring Doutzen corner works on waking her up fully, she looks angry that she was put down, Nicole needing to tell her to not forget the game plan.

Round 5:
Gemma comes out with her jab doubled up, bashing the lips of Doutzen till blood starts running from the bottom lip of the model.

Driving back her opponent in exchanges, Gemma is looking more relaxed with each punch that lands clean to the cheeks of Kroes.

When she swings in a right hook though Doutzen dips it, landing a right into the gut of Atkinson, an overhand left cracks into the ear of the English beauty.

Gemma shakes her head as her ear must be ringing, Doutzen not letting her breath as she fights in the pocket, things getting scruffy as they push and trade body shots.

A cuffing right and left across the ears of Gemma looks to be bugging her, they are turning red as Doutzen is driving her back around the outside of the ring.

At the bell Doutzen taps her jaw in front of Gemma, telling her "gonna have to hit me harder then that" the referee nudges the fighters apart as they exchange taunts.

Nicole is happy Doutzen is showing fight, but she is busy cleaning the blood from the chin of Doutzen, while her cut man works on reducing the swelling from her cheeks.

Round 6:
Clearly trying to stay on top of Doutzen; Gemma is stepping after her, compared to the more boxing on the back foot from Kroes.

Who ducks a left to land a right into the liver of Gemma, making Gemma gasp out in pain, a left hook then cracks across the chin of Atkinson to knock her on her heels.

For the first real time Gemma is in danger, when she goes to pull Doutzen into a clinch, ANOTHER RIGHT LANDS INTO HER LIVER, SENDING GEMMA DOWN TO ALL FOURS!

Doutzen bounces on her toes hands in the air in the face of Gemma, the referee needing to nudge Doutzen off towards the neutral corner.

1...2...3... Gemma looks up and looks to be biting back tears, 4...5...6.. Spitting her gumshield out so she can suck in air, 7...8...9...10 Gemma is counted out!

Winner Doutzen Kroes KO Round 6

After:
Raising her fists in the air, Doutzen proves she really is a title contender at welterweight, smiling as she looks at the downed form of Gemma.

The winner posing in front of Gemma with her arms flexed, Doutzen tells her "I told you had to hit harder" winking at Gemma before she struts back to her corner to get cleaned up.

Gemma gets helped up to her feet, putting her hands on top of her head as she sucks in air, understandably disappointed that she couldn't finish the fight off.

Denise telling her "shake this result off OK, you showed enough that others in this division need to be worried about you when you get back to your best" making Gemma nod and thank her.

Both women get cleaned up as they sit on their stools, looking glad to be getting a minute to recover before they come to the center of the ring for the final result to be announced.

Doutzen gets her hand raised to the delight of her supporters, Gemma shakes her head then steps out the ring to head to the locker rooms.

Inside the ring Doutzen poses at the center of the ring with Nicole behind her, Doutzen telling the cameras "I hope whoever holds the title after tonight has watched this, I am coming for you!"

The Lookout! Crew leave the ring together, Doutzen high fives people in the front row on her way to the back, clearly with plans to watch Romee vs Bojana for the welterweight title later.
