(Free Agent vs Girls Friday)

Intro:
The BBU lightweight title is on the line here on Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro, Belen Rodriguez looks to take the title away from local favourite Alessandra Ambrosio.

Belen is 34 years old; she stands 5'9, holding an undefeated record of 6 wins, all coming by way of knockout.

Alessandra is 38 years old; she stands 5'9 ½, she holds a record of 37 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 11 defeats, she is the current BBU lightweight champion, making her eighth defence, while also a former FCBA lightweight champion.

The fighters met on the beach for the press conference, eyes locked as they touch foreheads, their managers needing to pull them back a little as photos are taken of the face off.

When they get a microphone each, a journalist asks Belen about the venue, making her grin as she answers "look we all know Alessandra needs every help to keep her title, hell she conspired to get me beat off her mate Izabel (Goulart) on this very sand"

Laughing at Belen; Alessandra replies "let me be clear to you, I didn't give a damn if it were you or Izabel getting the shot at me, she isn't my friend and no one conspired against you, all I see is you making excuses"

Now it is Belen's turn to chuckle, telling her Brazilian rival "you lie but well I have already shown you that I am better then these games, last I check you can't buy a win lately hmm"

Alessandra shakes her head and holds up the lightweight title, she says "this is all I need to prove I am the best! You will never hold this as long as I hold it"

"We'll see how long that is then!" Yells back Belen as the microphones get tossed into the sand, both women scream into the others face as they shove at each other.

Management needing to pull them apart and off the beach separately, insults get thrown across at each other.

Fighting time; the ring is set straight into the sand itself, bleachers surround the ring with a packed out crowd and judges table nearby.

Out first comes Belen with her coach beside her, she gets a mixed response from the crowd, she thuds her gloves together as she jogs towards the ring.

As she steps into the ring; her coach helps her take her sarong off to reveal she is wearing a red bikini with gold trim, red gloves and her hair is tied back into a ponytail.

Now onto the beach comes Alessandra with Melanie Sykes, Melanie is holding the lightweight title aloft as Alessandra thuds her gloves together as she heads to the ring.

Stepping into the ring; Alessandra takes off her black sarong to reveal a black bikini with gold trim, an "AA" badge on the left bra cup, gold coloured gloves, as her hair is up in a ponytail.

After both women have warmed up; they come to the center of the ring, where the referee holds up the lightweight title for all to see, while both women trading insults as they intensely stare.

Thudding their gloves together when told to touch them up, they return to their corners ready to start 10 round of BBU lightweight title action.

Round 1:
"Ding" at the bell it is Belen taking the early control of the round, moving more quickly of the two as she rams her jab into the cheeks of the champion.

Who does manage to get in close to land two rights to the face of Belen, but Alessandra misses with a left hook as Belen ducks it, instead a right hook from the Argentinian fighter makes the older fighter groan out.

Belen looks silky smooth in her movements, dodging several punches to the face, while clean shots to the face of Alessandra, the crowd seeming a little subdued as they saw what Rodriguez could do in her last fight.

A two punch combo to the body of Alessandra makes the home town girl groan, she lands a hard right to the side of the challengers head though as Belen stays in close too long.

Leading to Alessandra getting some momentum going to knock back Belen to the outside of the ring, eyes intensely locked on Rodriguez as she pushes her around the ring.

Just before the bell rings; Belen slips a straight to land two lefts into the ribs of Alessandra, when the round ends she cockily walks back to her corner with her hands cupping her ears.

Round 2:
Again it is Belen out the blocks the faster of the two women, drilling some crisp jabs into the face of the Brazilian to keep her on the outside, while Belen looks lighter on her feet.

The champion is already looking frustrated as she can seem to be able to open up on her opponent, instead Alessandra is being forced to trade single punches with Belen, who looks much more comfortable fighting like this.

A wild right from Alessandra misses and earns her a right just above her bikini bottoms waistline, Belen risking a warning from the referee as she keeps aiming for the same spot.

Further angering Alessandra; who is swinging more then aiming to upset her corner, who are yelling at her to settle things down.

At the bell though it is another strong round for Belen, who sits on her stool looking cocky as she clearly thinks she is in the champions head.

Across to the Girls Friday corner; Melanie is telling Alessandra to settle herself down, she knows she is hurting with the bad results she has had, but she is the champion and she needs to fight like one.

Round 3:
Throwing more jabs as she has come out, Alessandra looks like she has listened to her coaches advice as she is stalking down her opponent.

Who continues to look good on the move, stinging the face of Ambrosio with straight punches, not looking too worried about the champion.

That might change as Alessandra cuts the ring off and lands a left hook across the face of Belen, followed by a straight to knock back the head of the challenger.

With not as much room to work in, Belen is being forced to trade more in close range then before, Alessandra looking the stronger now as she lands more of her power punches to knock back the Argentine fighter.

Heads rubbing together as Belen tries to show she isn't afraid to fight on Alessandra's terms, but she night regret it as Alessandra drills a right that looks low, Belen grimaces as she is knocked into a corner.

The bell rings not long after with Belen complaining to the referee, who doesn't seem interested as they wave her back to her corner, Belen rubbing between her legs as Alessandra smirks at her.

Round 4:
Back out and trading more punches in bunches, Belen not looking as mobile as maybe the low shot she took is still having an effect on her.

Slipping a jab from the challenger, Alessandra lands a right across her face, followed by a left hook that knocks Belen behind her guard.

Alessandra almost looking a different woman to the opening rounds, bashing the gloves of her opponent as she keeps her pressed around the outside of the ring.

Dipping down Belen is able to fire to the body, before moving into space as she waves Alessandra to bring it on, the crowd yelling for Alessandra to do so as they want to see Belen get her just desserts.

Both women letting their hands go more as they move around the ring, Belen boxing more on the back foot as Alessandra comes on the front foot to try to press Belen back to the ropes.

Just as the bell is about to ring; Belen slips a straight and lands a left under the ribs of the Brazilian, then a right to the gut as she presses back Ambrosio.

The round ending with both women trading a few insults, then turn back to their corners as their coaches look keen to clean them up and get give them advice.

Round 5:
Moving out their corners; Belen is back on the move looking more mobile again, she looks a little more aggressive when she moves inside to work.

Alessandra drilling her own punches into the face of Belen when she gets her target right, but she is missing punches as Rodriguez is becoming a harder target again.

Slipping a right cross; Belen counters with two hooks to the body as she pushes her head under the chin of Alessandra, trying to press back the champion.

It's Belen seeming to be back in control of the action, targeting the body of Ambrosio as she looks to wear down the champion, who looks to be getting angry again.

But as Belen looks to step in close; she gets caught across the top of her head with a right, a jab smacks the Argentine fighter between her gloves to her nose.

With Alessandra pinning her behind her gloves as seconds tick away in the round, when the bell rings more words are exchanged before they bump shoulders on the way back to their corners.

When they sit on their stools; marks on their faces as they look they their cheeks are swelling up, coaches telling them they need to find something extra to pull the win out.

Round 6:
Belen still looks good on the move, firing a triple jab into the face of Alessandra to make her step back to the outside of the ring, where Belen keeps her under wraps for a time.

Till Alessandra parries a jab to the side, landing a jab/straight combo into the nose of Rodriguez to knock her back a step, to the delight of the fans who cheer her.

In tight goes the fighters; trading to the body as they start trying to press the other backwards, ending up grappling after Alessandra pulls Belen into a headlock, the referee quick to break them up and warn the champion to keep things clean.

When they resume fighting; Belen just misses with a left cross, a right though smacks across her eye, causing her to cry out and retreat back.

It is revealed why as a gash has opened just above her eye under the brow, the referee has to call time for the ringside doctor to check it, who tells Belen she has to protect it or the fight will be stopped if blood runs into her eyes.

Fighting with her left more tightly guarding the cut, Belen is giving Alessandra more freedom to work, causing Belen more headaches as Ambrosio feints with a left to the eye, really firing a right hook into the side of her head to knock her to the side.

When the bell rings; the Rodriguez corner is working on cleaning up that cut, the doctor watching closely as some blood has run into the eye of Belen.

Round 7:
Getting the thumbs up; Belen does come out to fight with more a defensive jab, trying to catch Alessandra coming at her.

With Alessandra feinting more to cause Belen to move where she wants, AN UPPERCUT SPLITS THE GUARD OF BELEN, THE LEFT HOOK THAT FOLLOWS TO THE CHIN SENDS RODRIGUEZ TO THE SAND!

Raising her fists to a cheering crowd; Alessandra has to be nudged to a neutral corner, 1...2...3... Belen is laying on her back, one eye shut as blood runs down the side of her face, 4...5...6... Belen turns to her side slowly, 7...8.. The gumshield comes out as she looks defeated, 9...10 it is over!

Winner and still BBU lightweight champion Alessandra Ambrosio KO Round 7

After:
The crowd is up and roaring as the lightweight title is staying around the waist of one of their own, Alessandra raising her fists to the heavens as she looks as much relieved just to have won a fight again as much as keeping the title.

The ringside doctor checks on Belen; who is fighting back tears as she is helped to stand, once back on her stool the cutman works on cleaning up the cut above her eye that proved the big difference in this fight.

Across the ring Alessandra has her gloves taken off, Melanie telling her "I know you have been down on yourself, but you are still the best in the BBU and the world" with Alessandra smiling as she thanks her for her support.

Jogging to the center of the ring; Alessandra gets the BBU lightweight title belt wrapped around her waist as the referee lifts her hand up, the crowd chanting "Ambrosio!" As they stand up.

All the while Belen is still sitting on her stool staring angrily at Alessandra through her one good eye, the other is too sore to open it seems.

She is helped out of the ring; with the crowd waving her off the beach, Belen will most likely be back in title contention as she certainly didn't look out of place tonight.

While Alessandra poses with the belt above her head, smiling even as her face is marked up, she tells the cameras and crowd "still the best!" As Melanie nods her agreement.

Stepping out the ring together; the question continues "who can beat Alessandra for the title?" For now Alessandra shows off the title to the crowd before she leaves the beach, ready for a shower and deserved rest.
