Intro:
The second fight tonight sees Maya Jama look to end the unbeaten run of Alice in the Contender Six tournament, another win for Alice could be enough to give her the title.

Maya is 25 years old; she stands 5'7, holding a record of 3 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with only 2 defeats.

Alice is 37 years old; she stands 5'5 ¼, holding a record of 12 wins, 10 coming by way of knockout, 11 defeats with 1 draw.

Coming into this fight Maya has been stuck in the middle of the tournament rankings, only winning once in the three fights, that was beating Lottie Moss by knockout in the fifth round.

Compare that to Alice, who as stated has simply been unstoppable so far in this tournament, beating Rose Byrne, Lottie Moss and last month stopped Samaria Regalado in seven rounds to lead the rankings.

In fact if Alice wins this fight and Lacey Turner loses to Rose Byrne, Alice will have won the tournament, meaning she will be fighting Daisy Ridley for the BBU bantamweight title soon.

Georgie Thompson interviews both women in the build up, with Maya the first to take a seat and chat with Georgie on how she feels the tournament has went for her.

She admits "I can't sugarcoat that I have done terrible since the first round, this was supposed to be where I'd stamp my mark on the BBU and would get a title around my waist, instead I am fighting to stay off the bottom of the rankings"

Laughing as she is asked about her feelings fighting Alice, Maya tells Georgie "she is probably the worse person I could fight right now, Alice has rebuilt herself it seems to be an elite fighter, no one has truly tested her in my eyes"

Tapping her chest, Maya says "I am the one who will test her out, I hit hard, I am faster then her and while she has skills, mine will prove the difference when we step into that ring tomorrow" Maya then leaves with a confident smile on her face.

Alice looks relaxed as she sits down to talk to Georgie, the interviewer joking if she should even ask Alice how she feels the tournament is going, Alice jokingly says "well it could maybe be a little better, first round knockouts would be nice" winking at Thompson.

The subject turns to this fight, Alice answers "Maya can certainly throw bombs, I've fought several fighters trained by Sharon (Davis) and Denise (Lewis) they make hard hitters, so I can't let Maya land on me cleanly or all I've worked for goes up in smoke"

Grinning she continues "Maya has shown flaws that I can exploit, I don't think she is glass jawed but I will have fun finding out how long it lasts when land my hooks and uppercuts" getting a nod from Georgie as she stands up to leave.

Fight night; out comes Maya with Sharon Davis beside her, the two jog down the aisle with serious looks on their faces, they know that a tough test awaits them.

The TV star is wearing a blue sports bra with red trim, matching trunks and shoes, red gloves and her hair is tied back into a braid.

Climbing through the ropes inside the ring, Maya poses for the crowd at the ring center, hands on her hips as she looks physically impressive as always, heading to her corner to warm up as Sharon gives her a rallying speech.

Alice now is out onto the aisle, she bashes her gloves together while grinning, Nicole Ritchie behind her looks confident her fighter is going to be taking another step towards a title shot.

The actress is wearing a black sports bra with baby blue trim, matching trunks and shoes, baby blue coloured gloves, her blonde hair is in a ponytail.

Inside the ring she poses in her corner with her arms at her side, staring at Maya with a smile as both women lock eyes across the ring.

Brought together by the referee at the center of the ring, they each look the other over, neither seems to care much about being told the rules, more thinking how to knock the other out.

Told to touch gloves, they swipe them together as they quickly turn back to their corners, the bell is rung soon after to start ten rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
As they start off the action, Maya is using a jabbing attack to try to push back Alice early, the veteran shields her face well enough to not take the punches, though already she is finding herself near the ropes.

Alice is able to dip down to land the first punch of the fight, a right digs into the abs of Maya, followed by a left to her ribs to make Jama groan out.

The next time they step in to engage, Maya catches the blonde with a left cross/straight combo that opens up Alice's guard, Maya landing a right hook to turn the blondes head.

Leading to Maya getting on the front foot, forcing Alice to trade with her back to the ropes, Maya has come out the blocks quickly tonight, dominating the center of the ring with straight shots keeping Alice under wraps.

While with a minute to go Alice does start to come out her shell more, Maya is drilling her to the face to knock her head back, the work rate from Maya is impressive.

Soon the round comes to an end, Maya getting a nod from a happy Sharon, who tells her to bully Alice till she quits or is knocked out.

Round 2:
Maya is certainly up for this judging how quickly she comes out her corner, drilling Alice to her face with a jab/straight combo that lands on her nose.

The veteran looks a little shocked by the speed Maya is coming at her, with several punches landing through her mitts square onto her face, which is already starting to show marks on.

Clinching up with Maya after the first minute to slow her down, Alice looks over to her corner with an almost questioning look what to do, the referee stepping in to break them apart.

Once the action resumes, Alice is starting to land a few punches on the inside, MAYA THOUGH USES HER LEFT SHOULDER TO BUMP BACK EVE, AN UPPERCUT LANDS TO SEND ALICE ONTO HER BACKSIDE!

The crowd are stunned by what they've seen, Maya looks coldly down at Alice before heading to the neutral corner, 1...2....3....4.. Alice pushes up to a knee as she rubs her jaw, 5...6... Pushing up to her feet, 7...8.. She paces as the referee counts to eight, checking Alice before she is allowed to continue.

Coming in looking for the kill, Maya maybe showing her inexperience by throwing her right hook without setting it up, Alice sees it and dodges it with ease.

Maya though is stalking back Alice, hunting her down as the older fighter has to rely on her defensive skills to block or dodge the firepower that's coming to knock her out.

The bell rings to end a simply dominant round for Jama, who sits on her stool with barely a mark on her, Sharon simply saying "beautiful work in there"

While Alice is getting worked on by Nicole, who looks to almost be holding back yelling at her, instead is telling Alice to look to use Maya's momentum against her.

Round 3:
As expected Maya comes out her corner like the first two rounds, throwing combinations as she tries to catch Alice across her jaw, missing with more though as Eve dips down out the way.

A counter right catches Maya to her mouth with a straight, Alice gets clipped with a left across her cheek, the fighters stepping in closer as Maya swings an uppercut that Alice just about gets her head out the way of.

The second minute sees Maya pressing back Alice, landing a nice two punch combo straight into the face of the smaller woman, sending some sweat flying off the head.

Alice again put under wraps for the moment, Maya trying to break open the guard, changing tactics to switch to hooks to land to the sides of Eve's head, making Alice need to clinch up with Jama.

They are split apart as they head into the final minute, Maya comes in with a straight that sails over the head of Alice, who comes up with an overhand left across the chin of Maya to turn her head.

An uppercut knocks back the head of Maya, for the first real time in the fight, Alice is bashing back Maya to the outside of the ring, knocking back the head of her fellow cockney to the delight of her team.

The round ends with it being close to call, Alice though stands tall staring at Maya, showing that she isn't going to go away so easily, Maya staring back as the referee stepping between them, pushing both back and they calm down enough to go back to their corners.

Round 4:
Alice is showing off her experience, using Maya's aggression against her by dodging before landing stiff counter hooks, turning the head of Jama.

Finally Alice is starting to make Maya think, giving her some openings now as Maya slows down, Alice lands a straight into the mouth of Maya, followed by a left cross to push back Jama to her heels.

The blonde has Maya back onto the ropes, where she is swinging away at the ribs with hooks, making Maya hiss out before getting pushed back.

Both women step in closer to work, Alice showing Maya she won't be pushed back, but a right across the top of her head, followed by a double jab on her nose to push her backwards.

With Maya beginning to get her rhythm back in the final minute, pushing back Alice across the ring with several crisp body shots.

Both women going to the body in the final seconds of the round, heads grind as the crowd cheer both women on, the bell rings to end the round with both pushing apart.

Raising her fist into the air as she heads back to her corner, Alice showing Maya that the tables are turning, Sharon telling Maya not to let Alice get to her.

Round 5:
Both come out looking to push their tactics on their opponent, it's Alice who lands the first big punch, an uppercut finds it's way to the chin of Maya to snap her head back.

An overhand left follows to send Maya onto her heels as sweat off her head, Alice starts to open up on Maya who needs to clinch up to slow down Eve now.

Broken apart and back into space, Maya looks to come back at Alice, again she ends up missing with a left hook, A LEFT HOOK TO THE CHIN IS FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER UPPERCUT TO SEND MAYA DOWN TO HER BACK!

Alice raises her arms into the air with the referee nudging her back so she can begin the count, 1...2...3...4.. Maya has her gumshield hanging out her mouth, 5....6...7.. Maya has barely stirred as her eyes are shut, 8...9...10 she is counted out!

Winner Alice Eve KO Round 5

After:
A stunning knockout in what was a great comeback for Alice, she jumps up with her arms in the air yelling "woo!" To cheers from her supporters.

Sharon meanwhile rushes in to check on Maya, helping to get Maya to sit up after she stirs awake, taking the gumshield out as she checks on her fighter, getting a nod that she'll be OK.

Though as Maya is helped to stand, she is still a little wobbly legged, Sharon gets her to her stool so she can sit down, take a moment to clear her head fully.

Across the ring Alice gets a hug from Nicole, who jokingly says "don't worry me like that" Alice nodding with a big grin, they chat about how Alice come back to win.

Once both fighters have their gloves off and are ready, they come to the ring center, Alice gets her hand raised as Maya can only nod, knowing she threw the chance of victory away.

As Maya leaves the ring, this was a hard lesson for her, she looked great early on but was too focused on landing a big hook, she became too one dimensional and paid for it.

Inside the ring Alice poses with her right arm flexed for the cameras, smiling as Nicole stands with her right hand up and her index finger raised to signify she feels Alice is the number one.

Leaving the ring together, Alice will of course be watching the main event closely, seeing if she will need to defeat her to claim the tournament title.
