(Beever's Babes vs Chimera)

Intro:
Two heavy handed big British battlers fight, this is the second time Gemma Atkinson and Alice Goodwin have stepped into the ring together, this time in the BBU Arena in Cardiff.

Gemma is 35 years old; she stands 5'9, holding a record of 21 wins, 19 coming by way of knockout, 31 defeats, she is a former FCBA welterweight champion.

Alice is 34 years old; she stands 5'8, holding a record of 11 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 7 defeats.

These two fought in April of last year, Alice was able to knockout Gemma within five rounds, both need a win after losing their last fights, Gemma maybe more so after a rough time chasing down gold.

Before the fight both women were asked for word on this fight by BBU TV presenter Denise Van Outen on the BBU TV networks set, first up was Gemma on the hot seat in a red dress and matching heels.

Gemma looked happy enough as she shook hands with Denise, telling the presenter "it's great to get my voice out there because I hear enough people claim I am done as a fighter"

Rubbing her chin before she continues with "the day I think I am done as a top fighter I will walk, physically I am in great shape as always, I am as hungry as ever ams I will get another title around my waist"

Asked about Alice and how she will overcome her, the soap star replies "Alice got me good last time we fought, she packs a punch and I let my guard down, I know what to expect this time and have a plan to knock her arse out"

Now Alice gets her time in the hot seat, she is wearing a black dress that is cut low at the front with matching heels, she has her coach Charlize Theron standing behind her as Denise nods to both of them.

Alice starts off by saying "sadly I am not sitting here with the JMD title, I had Kate (Upton) hurt but stupidly let her pick me off after one mistake"

Charlize butts in "that's all it takes, one mistake can be the difference between holding gold and wasting a chance, I have worked hard with Alice that next time she won't lose her chance" Alice nodding all the way through the speech.

The model is asked about her feelings on Gemma, Alice replies "I took her out easily enough last time, though I have seen her videos on social media showing she had doubled down on her fitness training"

Theron tells Denise "it won't matter though, Gemma isn't the same woman who won the FCBA welterweight title several years ago, she is a shell of herself, Alice will be getting her hand raised come the end the fight"

Fight night; Gemma comes out with her coach Denise Lewis beside her, she is walking down to the aisle chatting with Denise all the way, going over the game plan to every detail it seems.

She is wearing a blue sports bra with matching trunks and shoes, white gloves, while her blonde hair is tied back into a fighting ponytail.

Stepping through the ropes, Gemma pumps her right fist into the air as she jogs over to her corner, bumping a fist with her coach before going through her warm up.

Alice is led out by Charlize, the model raises her fists into the air before she begins her walk to the ring, thudding her gloves together as she smiles.

She is wearing a black sports bra with white stripes down each side, matching trunks, black shoes, white gloves, her brunette hair is tied into a braid.

Getting into the ring, Alice poses at the center of the ring with hands on her hips, grinning over at Gemma to show how little fear she has of the former champion, then heads to her corner where Charlize looks to focus her mind on the fight.

When they come to the center of the ring for the final instructions, they tensely stare each other down, no love lost between these two as the referee stays between them.

They crack their gloves together when told to touch them up, once they are back in their corners, the bell sounds to begin 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
At the bell both women look intense as they come out their corners, Gemma looking more up on her toes of them, landing some nice crisp jabs to the cheeks of Alice as she moves more side to side.

It isn't long though before Alice lands a hard left across the cheek of Gemma, reminding the actress of her power, landing another two clean punches into the face of Atkinson to knock her back.

Maybe getting too cocky though after that success, Alice swings an uppercut that finds nothing but air, Gemma sidestepping before landing a jab/right cross to the cheeks of the brunette.

With Gemma looking the more controlled fighter so far, landing clean shots as she finds different angles to strike from, giving her opponent an early headache.

Late in the round though Alice spikes Gemma on her mouth with a straight right, a left hook lands to the side of the blondes head to make her cover up, till the bell rings to end the round.

Even with that bad finish, Gemma returns to her corner looking confident enough, Denise telling her to rely on her quickness and boxing skills to overcome this test.

Round 2:
Returning towards the center of the ring, Charlize has clearly told Alice to slow down her attacks instead of just swinging hooks in, leading to a more even start of both landing single punches through gaps they find in defences.

Gemma doubles up her jab to try to keep control of things, digging it into the cheeks of Alice as she keeps moving to her sides, not worried it seems about controlling the center of the ring as she keeps on her toes on the outside.

Timing her attacks better though is allowing Alice to close the gap to land her more heavy punches with regularity, a left cross to the mouth of Gemma makes the blonde cry out.

A missed right from Gemma allows Alice to dip down to land several punches into the abs of the soap star, making Gemma grit her gumshield as she backs up.

After nudging back Alice though with her left, Gemma lands a cuffing right/left across the top of her opponent's head, forcing Alice to retreat back to reset.

The next time Alice comes in with a jab, Gemma steps to the side again to land a right to the side of her head, followed by two left crosses to the cheek of Goodwin to push her behind her guard.

The round comes to a close with Gemma getting a nod from Denise in her corner, across the ring Charlize remains calm as she talks to Alice on what adjustments they need to make to turn this around.

Round 3:
After her loss a month ago; Gemma certainly looks to be after a big improvement tonight, jamming more jabs through the mitts of her opponent to knock her head back.

Alice needing to wait for an opening, one she creates by parrying a straight before landing a right to the nose of Gemma, then she steps into Gemma to body up to her.

They start to fire away in close, Alice forcing Gemma to trade leather on the inside, with two right hooks under the ribs of Atkinson making her groan out.

As Gemma tries to shove Alice back to create space, she gets clipped by a left across her jaw, a right to her abs follows as Alice won't go away so easily.

The crowd yelling their favourites on as they let their hands go more, sweat flies off them as they trade, with Alice looking more comfortable unleashing her power in these tight exchanges.

But late on Gemma reminds Alice of her own strength, landing a left hook to the ear of the model, followed by an uppercut to start knocking back the Chimera fighter.

The bell rings though before Gemma can really open up on the defensive Alice, who gets a "that's better but you need to" speech from Theron, who looks more relaxed now they seem to have gotten on the scoreboard with this round.

Round 4:
Alice begins to show another part of her arsenal, using feints to gauge better what Gemma will do, feinting with her jab before dipping down to throw a right into the stomach of the blonde.

Who backs up and again doubles up her jab, working hard to try to keep Goodwin on the outside, clearly trying to wear her out before beginning to unload on her.

But Alice isn't being kept back as easily, with the model slipping a jab to land an overhand left to the side of Gemma's head, an uppercut then lands to knock back Atkinson to her heels.

Now forced near the ropes, Gemma is only really able to land single punches out her guard, focused on stopping the heavy hands of Goodwin landing cleanly, which she does quite well but far from perfectly.

Dipping her head down to body up to Gemma, Alice bullies her onto the ropes, where she works the sides of the blondes body with short sharp hooks, till Atkinson pulls her into a clinch to force the referee to step in.

The final moments of the round sees Gemma come back at Alice, toe to toe go the combatants as they get a loud cheer from their supporters to bludgeon their rival into submission.

When the round ends the Chimera corner looks a much more happier place, Charlize wiping down Alice while praising her for turning this fight around after a slow start.

Round 5:
Now it's Gemma needing the pep talks from Denise, back at it go the fighters with each showing their skills off, Gemma showing off some nifty footwork to dodge and counter Alice.

Who still uses her feints to make Gemma react before she lands her heavy shots, both fighters cheeks looking rosy from the clean hits they've taken.

Alice dipping down to land several clean shots to the abs of Gemma, who presses her head down with her right, while firing her left into the kidneys of the brunette, the referee breaking them up and warning them to keep things clean.

Past half way in the round, Alice comes in with a right hook that Gemma steps back out the way of, A COUNTER LEFT HOOK/UPPERCUT COMBO LAND CLEAN TO SEND ALICE TO HER BACK!

Charlize slaps the ring apron with both hands in anger seeing her fighter go down, Gemma waving her right fist at the hall of famer.

1...2...3.. Alice is blinking to clear her head, 4...5... Turning to her front, 6...7.. Alice begins pushing herself up, 8... Beating the count with a shake of her head, the referee checks her and judges her OK to continue.

Understandably Gemma goes for the kill, swinging in hard shots towards the cheeks of her opponent, who is showing maybe she isn't that badly hurt with her defensive skills blocking most of the punches coming at her.

Gemma looks frustrated when the bell rings and Alice isn't out cold at her feet, Denise reminding her that knockdown can be the massive turning point if she uses it wisely.

Across the ring Alice gets her head washed down as Charlize yells at her to make Gemma pay, Alice nods as she pushes out her corner for the next round.

Round 6:
At the bell Gemma comes out looking more aggressive, drilling in straight punches to the top of Alice's head, with the model needing to duck down under a right hook with mean intentions behind it.

Nudging back Gemma with her left shoulder as she is dipped down, ALICE RIPS IN AN UPPERCUT THAT SENDS SWEAT FLYING FROM GEMMA'S HEAD, STUMBLING BACKWARDS GEMMA GETS CLOCKED BY A RIGHT HOOK THAT SENDS HER GUMSHIELD OUT AND GEMMA CRUMBLING TO THE CANVAS!

The referee nudges back Alice as she pounds her chest with her right fist, before the referee checks Gemma, THEY WAVE THE FIGHT OFF AS GEMMA IS JUDGED TO BE OUT COLD!

Winner Alice Goodwin KO Round 6

After:
A win that perfectly encapsulates the welterweight division, Alice coming back from being knocked down with a brutal knockout of Gemma here tonight to go two and zero over the blonde.

Alice flexes her arms as she stares into the crowd, Charlize applauding her with a big grin on her face, looking like she never doubted the win would come.

While Denise rushes into the ring with smelling salts, waking up the out cold Gemma, who blinks as she looks around wondering what the hell just hit her.

The ringside doctor comes in to check on Gemma, making sure she is OK as Alice just struts around the ring with her arms in the air, showing no concern for her opponent.

A round of applause rings out as Gemma is helped to stand, though she is still jelly legged, forcing Denise to help her over to her stool so she can get treated there.

Across in the Chimera corner, Alice is enjoying getting a drink of water and her gloves taken off after a hard workout, Charlize telling her "you bring that toughness to every fight and who is going to stop you" making Alice smile proudly.

The referee asks Alice to the center of the ring for the final result to be announced, Gemma is still only able to sit and watch Alice get her name announced as the winner and her hand raised to a loud cheer.

Staring over at Gemma with a grin, Alice then tells her "anytime you want a third try give me a call, I am loving knocking your overrated arse out time and again" making Gemma scowl.

But Gemma can't do much more then be helped out the ring, her head down as the questions on where she truly ranks now won't be quietened down by this defeat, even with a good performance behind her here, she needs a big win soon to change opinions.

All the while in the ring Alice looks excited for her future, pounding her mammoth jugs with her fists as she does a lap of honour.

Then leaving the ring with Charlize, Alice is a dangerous fighter it seems to all in this division, with a few wins could she be ready to claim the BBU welterweight title?
