7 April 2020 Helen George vs Amanda Clapham

Page history last edited by neon 3 years, 3 months ago

29 year old Amanda has won her first two fights, but now takes on a girl in 35 year old Helen, who’s career started in similar fashion, then she got found out by Nadia Forde, and is now 6 from 9, and, although she lost badly to Emma Rigby last time out, the older, taller Birmingham babe will start as favourite to topple the pretty Mancunian

Both girls seem ready and raring to go, with Amanda in a red basque and knickers, and Helen in a pale blue vest and micro skirt, both girls boots and gloves colour matching their outfits

Round 1
Amanda is clearly the more aggressive as the fight starts, Helen unable to use her slight height advantage as the younger girl plughs into her with a variety of punches to her body, Helen yelping a little, stepping back, then countering as Amanda gets careless, picking the younger blonde off, and she’s now starting to give the novice a boxing lesson as she dominates her from the centre of the ring, then pokes her backwards, briefly has her up against the ropes, where she punishes her to the body, Amanda using her strength to get away from trouble, though, and trading punches again in the middle of the ring, Helen definitely having the less powerful punch, but her boxing skill is giving her the round nicely, Amanda a little scuffed around her cheeks and eyes

Round 2
After getting a ticking off from Gail Kim, Amanda is a little less aggressive at the start of round two, letting Helen come to her, then counter punch, and the tactics seem to be working well, Amanda able to absorb the older blonde’s jabs and crosses, then landing her own punches, each one seeming to land squarely in Helen’s face, which is starting to mark up a bit, Amanda showing the older girl that she can box, moving Helen around as the older girl starts to fade in the later stages of a tough round, Amanda for the first time looking the better bet for tonights fight, and once she has Helen stuck in a neutral corner, she doesn’t let her out, just pumps punches into the Brummie’s body, weakening her and hurting her as well, landing a couple of solid right crosses in Helen’s mouth before the bell pauses the action

Round 3
Gail Kim is much happier in Amanda’s corner now, with Nicola McLean having plenty to worry about in Helen’s, but she’s trying to keep calm to help her girl, who takes the fight to Amanda in the opening seconds, and lands some better punches on the younger blonde, but she still isn’t timing her shots well enough to hurt Amanda, who grins as she returns fire, confident that she can punish Helen, and that confidence is well placed, because she’s prodding the older girl back again, Helen looking more than a little distressed as she feels rope on her back, and she then eats a lovely right hook from Amanda, a punch which really knocks her sideways, and she does well to stay upright, although she’s looking in poor shape now as Amanda rams punches into her body, Helen covering, protecting herself, but not offering too much in response, and the referee’s hovering close by, because this round is becoming a rout, Amanda surely in a position to pull off a quick result, although she’s continuing to hit Helen to her ribs and midriff as if she needs to soften the girl up any more

Round 4
The referee has warned Helen that if she doesn’t fight back he will stop the fight, and she’s taking that seriously, despite sorting a horrid lump on her left cheek, which Amanda pastes with two quick punches just about immediately, and sits Helen down, the older blonde on her feet again at 6, able to convince the referee she’s ok, but she doesn’t look it, as Gail Kim calls out, “Finish her, Mand!” and the younger blonde grins, feints with her right, then throws a left hook, putting Helen down again, flat on her back this time, and there’s no need for a count – she’s out cold!

Result : Amanda Clapham knocked out Helen George in round 4

That was impressive from Amanda, and she looks more and more like a contender in the bantamweight division, with Sacha Parkinson said to be interested in fighting her next
