Teilor Grubbs versus Rachel Stevens 

(Words: AOD / Results: Lookout!)

 

Intro:
It’s debut night for Teilor Grubbs, she isn’t the talkative type, skipping the interview and heading for the ring with a big smile in a black one-piece suit and gloves with her hair in a ponytail waving and blowing kisses to the audience. She’s more excited than anything else as if she just entered a theme park. On the other hand, Rachel appears with a dead-eyed look, also skipping the press talk. She’s sporting a red bra and panties with white gloves and her hair loose.

Round 1:
Excitement and crowd support doesn't do much to help Tailor as Rachel surprises her early with a left-right combo to her face staggering the youngster in place and setting her up for a burst of jabs drawing blood from her lip early into the opening round. Teilor responds late with a one-two combo still managing to land her second strike and get Rachel’s vicious fangs off her. It doesn’t take long for Rachel to recover as Teilor gets spooked and starts firing a flurry of punches in her direction. Stevens feints to the side, hooking at Teilor’s flanks to get her to stop punching and blasting her mouth with a cross when she does. She preoccupies Grubbs with an overhand punch to the temple leaving the rookie wobbly at the bell.

Round 2:
The disappointing start wipes the smile from Teilor’s face but she’s still very much in the fight. Rachel the aggressor doesn’t think twice about chasing Grubbs as soon as the bell allows it but she keeps calm, works under the pressure, refusing to get spooked again and repeat her mistakes. It's not an easy task for Teilor, she is, after all, facing a veteran on her debut and it shows. Despite defending well and doing her very best to keep Stevens off her, she isn't doing much to respond and you can’t win a fight by just defending. The only thing she succeeded in doing is tiring Rachel out but the bell is just around the corner, proving all of her efforts worthless in the end as Rachel wins the round by a slight margin.

Between the break: Pep talk coming from Teilor’s corner; she’s being told to be more aggressive and stop playing around.

Round 3:
Teilor listens to the advice she’s been given and comes out more aggressive, looking Rachel straight in the eyes before slamming a wild uppercut upstairs, dodging around Steven’s jabs and responding with a hook to the ribs. “You b**ch, I wi…” Rachel exclaims but doesn’t get to finish her sentence as Tailor sticks her mitt to Rachel’s mouth. “You were saying?” she responds as Rachel furiously snaps back, misses and absorbs another punch to the mouth. From there, Teilor is mostly in control, driving right hands to Rachel’s face while dealing with little resistance. The few punches Rachel lands aren't enough to stop Teilor as she leaves the veteran battered at the bell and looking hungry for revenge.

Round 4:
Rachel’s so-called revenge doesn’t pan out too well as Teilor scores a clear shutout, making the veteran look like a rookie and the rookie like the veteran. A series of hooks chase Rachel to ropes; she's looking drained and exhausted. Teilor goes upstairs barraging Rachels poor face with hooks. She looks dead in her tracks while Teilor digs at her face and switches to her body midway through. Rachel’s clearly irritated but too exhausted to snap back at Teilor who just can’t seem to catch a break, putting every second of the round to good use and making her opponent look more like a punching bag. Bell: Rachel’s clearly in pain, taking her time walking to her corner, yet still vengeful.

Round 5:
Hawaiian girl continues punishing the vet, she's relaxed, taking it easy and having a fun time doing. On the other hand, Rachel tries pushing her off but to no success as she gets walked back to ropes. She pretty much repeats round four, bossing Rachel, who is now a wreck around the ropes. She’s busting up, slowing down an absorbing uppercuts like a sponge. The only movement coming from Rachel is her body jerking whenever Tailor punches, she’s running on borrowed time and finally, midway through the second minute gets knocked to her belly via uppercut to the chin.

1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6… 7… 8… 9… 10… YOU’RE OUT.

The winner is Teilor Grubbs

Outro:
Rachel’s all grumpy after the fight, barely waiting to get out of here. Teilor is as excited as ever, smiling, climbing the ropes and thanking the fans.

Teilor:”It was a very good opening night I think. Rachel was cockier than anything else so it was only a matter of letting her anger take over. At that point I know I was going to win. I don’t want to sound pretentious, but she should really learn how to cool off.”
