Before: “I realize it’s pretty late in the year to be making my debut, but here it is and I already to go,” declares willowy model Gigi Hadid. “The past couple of years have been discouraging ones for me, but I’m not giving up. I am determined to get back to winning.”

Hayley Atwell just smiles condescending: “I do feel sorry for the struggles of poor Gigi, but she can’t expect me assist her in reviving her sad boxing career. I always fight to win and I will win this tie—quite easily I expect.”

“You arrogant little twerp!” Gigi snaps as she glares down at the shorter Hayley. “There will be nothing easy about fighting me.”

“’Arrogant little twerp’? My word, I think I am back in the schoolyard. I must warn you Gigi, I punched girls out for saying things like that and I am perfectly prepared to do it again.”

“Bring it on—twerp!” Gigi repeats heaedly.

“Oh, I most certainly shall!” Hayley says coldly.

Nothing like pre-fight trash talk to stir up some interest in a coming fight. Buzz goes through the crowd as the fighters come to the ring. Hayley removes her robe she is in a red lace bra and satiny black high waist briefs with red gloves and boots (black laces). Hair pulled back in a battle braid. Gigi removes her robe, she is wearing red bikini covered with white polka dots, high waist bottoms. White gloves and boots with red laces. Hair is in a simple ponytail.

Ring instructions are tense with Gigi attempting to accentuate her height advantage by trying to loom over Hayley. Hayley gives her a look of disdain. However the instructions are covered and there is quick tap of the gloves as the fighters then return to their corners. The bell rings…

R1: Hayley and Gigi both out quickly at the bell. Gigi trying to use her longer reach to strike at Hayley from a distance. Hayley moving forward against Gigi’s counters until she can land solid right and left hook to Gigi’s ribs and stomach. Gigi answers back with ringing blows to the sides of Hayley’s head. Hayley falls back but when Gigi moves to follow, she fights back against the model. The two pumping shots into each other’s body in close with Hayley able to drive Gigi back as the bell rings., Hayley Atwell wins the round close.

R2: Action resumes with Gigi Hadid moving rapidly out of her corner and slashing Hayley across the chops with a right to get things started. Hayley recoils and now Gigi drives straight shots into Hayley’s face. Hayley ducks away from these and goes after Gigi to the body. Gigi being bent forward, but she keeps smacking rights and lefts to the side of Hayley’s head and face. Hayley finally has to pull back. Gigi rattles the retreating Hayley with nice right/left combo to the chin. Hayley fighting back with more punches to Gigi’s body, but Gigi still pushing forward as the round ends. Gigi Hadid gets a narrow win.

R3: Hayley now the one moving faster and she stuns Gigi with smashing uppercut to the jaw that sends the model reeling backwards. Then Hayley shifts to a barrage of body shots that bend the lanky model forward at the waist. Gigi trying to jab Hayley back with punches to the face, but Hayley fights through these to bang Gigi with rights and lefts to the head. Gigi all hunched up, gloves protectively at her head and still trying to get out of range. Hayley sticking with her quarry and easily wins the round at the bell. Hayley looks quite pleased with herself going back to her corner. Gigi’s long legs looking rubbery as she makes her way back to her stool.

R4: Gigi Hadid responds to Hayley’s charge at the start of R3 with one of her own in R4. Long legs swiftly cut the distance to reaching Hayley and then bring a head swiveling right into Hayley’s jaw. Hayley is smacked hard and then takes a left to the jaw. Then Gigi is bringing uppercuts into Hayley’s chin. Hayley is suddenly all wobbling legs and mitts up high to protect her head. Now Gigi shifts to pounding away at Hayley’s body: from her big breasts down to ribs and finally hooks into Hayley’s belly. Hayley lurching back towards the ropes, finally gets her jab going late in the round, but Gigi able to work around it to keep Hayley’s body under heavy attack. Bell finally sounds and Gigi Hadid smiling as she watches a shell-shocked Hayley Atwell trudge to her corner. Gigi Hadid wins rounds wide.

R5: Hayley and Gigi are both out quickly as the new round commences. Hayley banged to head early, but ducks down and plants vicious hooks into Gigi’s torso, Gigi doubled up by the force of these blows, tries to pull away from the rampaging Hayley, but Hayley now able to cut off the ring. More body shots and Gigi is now driven slowly towards the ropes. Gigi trying to escape, but then takes an sneaky right to the chin behind her gloves. DOWN GOES GIGI. Gigi hits the ropes and slides down into a sitting position with a dazed look on her face. Hayley heads for the neutral corner. Referee moves in and starts to count. Gigi struggles to her feet using the ropes to climb upward and she is able to beat the count at “NINE!” Referee gives Gigi a quick look and then waves Hayley back in. Hayley charges right in and clouts a sluggish Gigi upside the head. Gigi thrown back into the ropes, but then tries desperately to escape being pinned by sliding along the strands. Hayley moving with her and more and more punches are slamming unanswered into Gigi’s jaw and chin. She’s being knocked around like a ragdoll! Horrified ringsiders scream at the ref to stop this carnage! Then the referee DOES JUMP IN! Gigi Hadid sags into the official’s arms as Hayley Atwell raises her right arm and smiles grimly in triumph.

THE WINNER: HAYLEY ATWELL DEFEATS GIGI HADID TKO5!

After: “I admit I got careless in the 4th Round,” Hayley Atwell acknowledges in the post-fight. “Gigi can punch and got pretty banged up for a while there. Fortunately, I quickly shook it off and beat her down in the 5th. Really, that referee was negligent in not stopping the fight after I knocked her down, she was in no shape to continue. After all, I’m not here to hurt anyone—much.”

Gigi Hadid not saying much to the press that night. Next day, she tells Archer News’ Skip Tracey: “The 4th Round felt SO good. I was like my old self again, but she came back much stronger than I was expecting in the 5th. No, I don’t think the referee should have stopped the fight after the knockdown, I was able to fight, at least I thought I was. Hayley just overwhelmed me and I don’t remember much of what happened after that. Yes, I am disappointed, but I saw signs of improvement. I will get to that winner’s circle yet!”

Fight did seem to be close in the first two rounds. Then Hayley Atwell seemed to be charge I the 3rd, but Gigi Hadid came back strongly in the 4th. The 5th Round was decisive as Hayley was able to punch her way into control of the fight and get the stoppage. Good win for Atwell and another disappointment for Gigi Hadid. Lively contest while it lasted though.
