BEFORE:
"I've been looking forward to this," Maisie Williams says with a big nod. "FINALLY I get a title shot! I'm in the best shape of my life, my Game of Thrones stuff just wrapped up, so I am ready to reign!"

"I picked Williams because she absolutely deserves this title shot. I watched her recent fights against Kristin Kreuk and Lily Allen, and I must say I was impressed. She's in for an uphill battle though if she thinks she can take my belt away from me," Diana replies with a confident nod and grin. 

Little else fanfare as both petite young women square off at the podium, fists held up high, as well as their chins turned towards each other. Both ladies are around the same height but Korkunova packing a little bit of bulk for her weight class. Maisie sure to be relying on her speed and agility like the master assassin she is. 

Later in the ring, Diana dressed in red bikini top, black boxing trunks cut short for maximum mobility, whereas Maisie going for a tight black sports bra, red trunks and white gloves. Without further ado, HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action! This here’s for the BBU Flyweight championship!

ROUND 1:
Maisie very aggressive early on, but Diana keeps her at bay through a combination of superior reach and tenacity. Diana sporting aa four-inch height advantage after all, keeps the over-zealous Williams away by constantly firing jabs towards her head. Williams for the most part must have gotten some of that Game of Thrones magic mixed into her blood, fancying herself some sort of agile assassin as she blitzes inwards repeatedly but gets caught by those errant jabs to her face. Williams like a little dynamo that keeps on coming though, tags Diana back to the body towards the tail end of the round, making the champ back away immediately until the bell rings.

ROUND 2:
Maisie finds a little more success in the second by keeping up with her fast strategy, charging at the spot where Diana is GONNA be instead of where she actually is. Korkunova gets caught off guard as a result, starts taking damage to her arms as Maisie lets rip fast flurries of jabs once she gets close enough, scoring another one-two stiff shots to the body before Diana manages to cover and back away, the champ almost in trouble but not quite, as the two girls catch their breath in the final minute. Diana back to controlling her opponent from afar, before unleashing big hooks to try and spook Maisie from repeating that fast attack vector. And it works - right swing bangs hard into William’s guard in the nick of time, sending her stumbling backwards more stunned than hurt.

ROUND 3:
Maisie still roaring forward like the little spitfire she is, landing blitzed shots into Diana’s body up until the point Diana catches her clean on the face with a nasty right hook, and then another swing turns the smaller girl 180 degrees on her toes and sends her sprawling down to her knees! Good lord! That’s a KNOCKDOWN good and early!! Maisie stunned, on all fours, sputtering as she shakes the pain from her head! Diana with a cocky smile as all that early tension released from her body, albeit temporarily. She heads to neutral corner and awaits the eventual rise of Maisie Wiliams. One more minute left on the clock and Maisie rushes forward once more! It’s as though that last knockdown didn’t even scratch her surface! None are more shocked than Diana herself, who grunts as the smaller girl barrels into her, lefts and rights buried into her open body before she’s thrown back with a cross hand landing straight to the arms. Williams slugs her way back to contention fast indeed, but Diana still wins the round with ease by the time the bell rings!

ROUND 4:
Diana still determined to finish Maisie off - the Girls Friday starlet can’t keep up her stamina indefinitely, can she? But she underestimates Williams’ training and fitness, to her own peril. Williams dances circles around her, backing away each time Korkunova storms forward and swings hooks at her head. Williams sending jabs back into Diana’s face, then targets the champ’s body, gleefully whittling her down for the full three minutes as she uses her agile footwork to great advantage. Diana finally stops her blind pursuit in the final minute, but the damage has been done - she’s holding onto her stomach with one hand, apparently hurt from the repeated poking, now having to reevaluate the situation as we head into the fifth.

ROUND 5:
Another rapid body assault catches Diana off guard as Williams charges in and pecks at her vulnerable frame with punches, and then backs away without taking much damage in turn. Diana groaning as she covers up her side with one arm, but then powerless to stop Williams from shooting more jabs at her face at lightning speed, as though Williams striking from all angles. Diana getting hurt, no doubt about that, and in close quarters combat no less. She tries to clinch up with Maisie at the last minute, but only because she’s too far spent to do much else. Williams panicking at first as the bigger girl controls the remaining action, but manages to quickly push the champ off her with more hands buried into her paunch below, sacking the champion’s will all the way to the bell. Korkunova almost avoids another close knockdown attempt when she’s left hanging onto the ropes for dear life.

ROUND 6:
Korkunova still busy catching her breath when Maisie crashes into her once again - this Brit just doesn’t stop, does she?! Diana lets out a yelp as she struggles to deal with the smaller girl suddenly swinging hooks at her head, trying to make herself small by bending over and covering her head with both arms. Maisie targeting the body again, digging hooks into her sides with an almost unobstructed view allowing her to fire on all cylinders, driving Diana backwards while battering her body from all directions. One such liver shot has Diana crying out loud in pain, with Maisie’s punches landing all over the place that she’d probably didn’t even intend for that painful shot to happen. But the damage done, with Diana holding her midsection as the champ FALLS DOWN to her knees, giving Maisie Williams the revenge KNOCKDOWN she was looking for! Things are not looking good for the Siren as she struggles to recover, those repeated shots to her body starting to take their toll on her entire being, trembling as she forces herself to rise slowly back to her feet by the count of 8! Bell resumes and Maisie’s like an indiscriminate cannonball rolling across the field, her tiny fists continuing to pepper the body, now the face, as she traps the Flyweight champ in a corner till the bell saves her from another disastrous knockdown!

ROUND 7:
What else can Diana do but cover up and hang in there, weathering this storm as Williams hits her groove. Maisie surprisingly quick AND showing some power as she hammers those shots to Diana’s gut, stunning the Siren from afar with a straight left-right combo to the face and then storming inwards to jam punches between the arms, into the stomach. The only things holding Diana up at this moment are her own grit and the fact that she’s used to more powerful hammer and tongs action from previous opponents like Danielle Sharpe, for example. Korkunova begins to fight back in the third minute, when FINALLY, Maisie shows some signs of slowing down from all that gritty action earlier, especially when a series of right jabs tag her unexpectedly on the eye when she rushes in again to finish Diana off. We’ve lost count of the number of rounds Diana has forfeited thus far, though - can she truly do enough before the tenth round to make a difference overall?

ROUND 8:
Still, a little resistance ain’t gonna stop Maisie from rushing in for the kill. Those endless reserves of energy showing signs of drying up when Diana catches her clean on the forehead with a sudden superwoman leap forward! Good lord! Diana suddenly airborne at the precise moment of the bell, raining death from above with a rattling hand that bounces hard off Maisie’s forehead! It was a hail mary attempt indeed to turn the tide, and it works! Williams with a shout of pain as she’s forced back from the sudden impact, then gets bounced about when Diana follows through with another left-right hook into her arms, further rattling that cage of hers! Maisie trying to stick her hands back in for the rest of the round, but Diana emboldened by her own success, eats some shots to the face but smelling blood and not willing to let go of her lead. The two ladies slug it out back-and-forth in the final seconds, but overall it’s a victory for Diana, who can battle her way back into contention if she can keep this momentum going for the remainder of the fight!

ROUND 9:
Both girls CRASH into each other once more, duking it out in the center of the ring, with Maisie drawing on her last reserves to batter fists along Diana’s waistline, but getting overpowered when Diana finally finds her siren song, her size and height giving her the advantage needed to POWER stiff shots to the side of Maisie’s head, throwing the Girls Friday starlet about the ring without mercy, before KNOCKING her down with another hard-rattling hook to the chin! Williams FLOORED this time by that bonanza, literally clotheslined off her feet with her back hitting the canvas with a THUD!! What a chin-checker that was! Maisie still in shock as she blinks up at the bright lights, and to everyone’s surprise, starts getting back up again almost immediately! Plenty of championship material on display tonight as the Williams still manages to recover by the nick of time 9! 

Bell rings to resume and there’s unfortunately still two minutes left on the clock! Diana’s turn at some overt aggression as she rushes in to mop up, further employing her power on a much reduced and now spent Maisie Williams, who’s too tired to try and get away! Hooks slam into her arms, crash into her face, sending Williams reeling and rotating down the ropes repeatedly. Diana showing no quarter as she gets in close and personal, buries another left-right two-swing combo across the face in quick succession, and DOWN WILLIAMS GOES AGAIN!! Maisie lifted off her feet this time, her arms flailing about and mouth open wide, hitting the deck and staying there! Slow count to 10 and the referee WAVES the rest of her chances off! Diana retains the title!

Official Decision: Diana Korkunova defeats Maisie Williams via KO9! Diana Korkunova is STILL the BBU Flyweight champion!

AFTER: 
What a performance from the challenger, who took the champion to task for a good portion of this fight, and still managed to hold off at least two knockdown attempts! Diana’s never been pushed like this before, relief flooding her face as she stumbles back to corner, just happy to be able to sit back down after that nasty war of attribution. The Siren winces as she’s checked over by medics, parts of her body already turning red from the abuse. 

Williams on the other hand looking hella disappointed she didn’t manage to hang in there till the very end, which many pundits say would have won her the fight with a unanimous decision, and the title itself of course, after having secured so many points in the interim. Nonetheless, she should feel mighty proud of herself for putting on such an impressive show tonight. 

After resting up, the two gals meet one final time in the center, shake hands, promising to face each other again someday.
