Intro:
First time meeting between these two former lightweight champions, Blake Lively and Alessandra Ambrosio have both seen better days in the ring, don't ever write either off though as they still have a punch to lay out anyone who underestimates them.

This year has been a mixed bag for Blake, while she has a losing record with just two wins in five fights, her wins were against Yvonne Strahovski and Hannah Ferguson, the issue seems to be about putting results together.

While Alessandra moves closer to her April retirement deadline, maybe with that looming she hasn't had the drive she had to become the first BBU/FCBA unified champion in those organizations history's, instead focusing on fighting fresh faces and foes she missed on her way up the rankings now.

Both got a chance to air their opinions on the FCBA Network set, Lucy Liu first welcoming Blake to the set with a warm smile, Blake wearing a black dress with a red stripe down either side from armpit to bottom to match her red heels.

"Hey Lucy, it's funny to think me and Alessandra haven't fought, I had to look over the records myself as I couldn't believe it myself, two former champions, I know Alessandra is impressive" Blake full of praise as she smiles.

Then she adds "but when we get in the ring I won't be this friendly, Alessandra will learn what many others have, that once I land clean on your chin it is game over, Alessandra won't get a fairy tale run to the end of her career with people like me" hands on Blake's hips as she looks to prove her point with a power pose.

Lucy can't resist to ask about Blake touting her legs as the best in the FCBA when Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift, along with Dua Lipa and Tasya Teles have been debating legs, Blake chuckles before replying "just look at my legs, I'll let you decide whose are the best as I walk off" winking to Lucy, then strutting off as her long legs are shown off by the dress and heels.

Next is Alessandra as she wears a light pink dress with matching heels, looking in a bubbly mood as she talks to Lucy about their lives to start, then getting down to business as she tells Lucy "I'm buzzing for this fight, Blake has gone under the radar but she hasn't went under mine... Well not now anyway" as both women laugh knowing that Alessandra had certainly missed Blake in the past.

Asked how confident she is after a loss to Nina Agdal last month, Alessandra answers "look at Nina now, she is on the cusp of becoming the lightweight champion here, I'll be rooting for her though I do like Taylor (Hill) too, anyway to your question, I'm in great shape and you know one hit from me can turn anyone's lights out in this division" throwing a straight towards the camera with a laugh before she heads off the set.

Fight night, out comes Blake first with coach Charlize Theron and cut woman Sunny McKay behind her, the tall blonde beauty is wearing a navy blue sports bra, with matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail as she thuds her gloves together on her way to the ring.

Which she climbs into soon enough, acknowledging her yelling fans with her right fist in the air, she then begins stretching to keep herself limber, chatting away to Charlize about their game plan.

Now out comes Alessandra with coach Gisele Bundchen and cut woman Eva Carneiro behind her, she is wearing a yellow sports bra with green "AA" badge on the left bra cup, yellow trunks with green trim, matching shoes, green gloves as she proudly wears her Brazilian flag colours, hair tied into a braid as she blows kisses to the fans.

Stepping into the ring, Alessandra gives her hips a shake to whistles from her supporters, then settling into her warm up with Gisele making sure she is ready for the task at hand, Alessandra nodding as she taps her cheeks to get into the zone.

Coming to the center of the ring, the fighters both eye each other up as they shake their limbs to keep loose, coaches Charlize and Gisele eye each other up as there is some tension in the air.

Things stay calm though as respectfully they touch up gloves, returning to their corners with eyes firmly on their opponent, the referee signals for the bell to ring to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
Stepping out their corners each shows the other respect early with their jabbing attacks, not risking letting their opponent land a big right in the opening moments of the round, with their similar builds both are landing nicely with their jabs when they move in closer.

A left cross catches Blake coming forwards as Alessandra looks to be the first to open up, landing a crisp follow up jab/straight to push back the American, Alessandra taking the ring center to work from.

But she has awoken Lively too now, who leans out the way of a left cross to bury in a straight to the face of the Brazilian, a left to the body follows as Blake bodies up to Ambrosio, forcing the first real heated exchange between them.

Both nearly bump bodies as they work in close, opening up themselves as they let their hands go, groans and barks can be heard as the safety seems to have been taken off, punches drilled into abs or cheeks as they use their shoulders to bump each other back.

In the final moments of the round, Alessandra catches out Blake with an uppercut, a left hook then knocks back the actress, pressing her back towards the ropes, Blake covering up as the round comes to a close with Alessandra looking like she might have took it in those final seconds.

Round 2:
Coming out their corners with more fire, heads getting turned by cross punches that forces each to move back before they come back with their own hard shots, the crowd whistling and cheering the fighters on.

Alessandra dips under a left cross to bang in a left/right hook combo to the body of her opponent, a clipping left hits across the top of her head twice as Lively wants to extract her from being in her face, the Brazilian though looks to be slowly building up a head of steam.

Till she gets nudged back with a left, caught across her face with the right hook from the American, Alessandra finding herself now under a barrage as Blake smacks her up the middle repeatedly to send her to the ropes.

Where the veteran instincts of Ambrosio tells her to clinch up with Lively, the referee needed to pry them apart as they try to power each other back, broken up with Alessandra getting off the ropes.

Blake looks to have the bit between her teeth, rifling more punches through the gaps in Alessandra's defenses to her body or her face to bring a smile to her coaches, the model not looking as trigger happy down the stretch.

At the bell they separate with Blake looking much stronger this round, Charlize wiping her down with a sponge, telling her fellow blonde beauty to keep the pressure on as Alessandra hates backpedaling in a fight.

Round 3:
Opening up more as she looks to take control early on, Blake smacks Alessandra with some hard cross punches to make her opponent back off early, Alessandra doesn't look as confident as usual, maybe facing someone of a similar mould to herself is making her wary.

Blake of course doesn't care about that, she is focused on keeping the pace up, forcing Alessandra into fiery exchanges around the ring, the model mostly kept neat the ropes as they box, Blake able to load up more while also stepping out the way of punches.

Leaning out the way of a left cross, finally Alessandra lands her first real big punch with an uppercut to the chin of Blake, who finds the roles reversing as she eats a three punch combo into her face, knocking her back to the ropes as Alessandra let's out a little of her tension onto Blake.

Who shoves her back so she can get off the ropes, both crashing punches through the others mitts, feet planted as their cheeks are starting to get a pink hue to them, neither holding back as the crowd roars them on.

In the final thirty seconds Blake smacks Alessandra with a left hook that turns her head, working Ambrosio back into a corner with a jab/straight/left cross combo all landing to send sweat off the head of the model.

At the end of the round Alessandra looks like she is cursing under her breath, returning to her corner to be asked simply by Gisele "do you really want this?" Alessandra looks offended by the question but has to concede she isn't showing it right now that she does.

Round 4:
That talk from Gisele seems to have sparked life into the Ambrosio engine, she comes out trading harder punches with Blake, it gets scruffy as both land to shoulders and backs of heads as they get into the others face.

Using her left to bury a punch near the top of Blake's waistband, Alessandra follows with a clubbing right to the side of her head, that forces Lively to retreat back, she is met with a right onto the top of her forehead to knock her backwards.

Working at midrange as she looks to bully back Blake now, Alessandra isn't finding it so easy as her opponent keeps landing some piston like punches back into her face, the power punches though are firmly coming from the Brazilian bombshell.

Who digs in more body punches when she snaps Blake's head back, powering her to the ropes after where she feels comfortable to swing in hooks down at ribs and sides, Blake groaning out as she clips her punches around the ears of Ambrosio.

In the final forty seconds Blake manages to land an uppercut out her guard to the mouth of Alessandra, a left cross then follows to turn the head of the Girls Friday fighter, the fighters move to the center again to go toe to toe in a venomous exchange of punches, sweat goes flying with each hammer like shot.

At the bell they just about hold back as their eyes lock in an intense stare down, turning on their heels to their corners after being ordered twice to return there, both corners needing to reduce swelling around the face of their fighters as this has been a hard hitting brawl fit for bars around the world.

Round 5:
While both are loading up with their rights, they are starting to dodge more as they realise they can't simply walk each other down that easily, jabs are helping them get the range they want as the chants are loud as ever.

Stepping back as Alessandra comes forwards with a right cross, Blake times it perfectly as she lands a vicious uppercut, Alessandra stumbles backwards as Blake gives chase, A LEFT/RIGHT HOOK COMBO LANDS CRISP AS AMBROSIO TUMBLES TO HER BACK WITH A THUD!

The crowd stands up cheering loudly as Blake grins looking down at Alessandra, then jogs to the neutral corner so the count can begin, 1...2...3.. Alessandra is groaning as she lays spread eagle on the canvas, 4...5...6.. Spitting her gumshield out, 7...8.. Eyes are firmly shut... 9...10 as Alessandra looks like she could lay there all night! She is counted out!

Winner Blake Lively KO Round 5

After:
Another big name on the list of people Blake has taken out this year, she turns to the fans smiling as this win meant a lot to her, reminding those fans that she can be a force in this division.

Gisele steps into the ring checking on her friend Alessandra, helping her to sit up slowly as Eva checks on Ambrosio to see she will be OK, Gisele telling Alessandra "I am sorry I questioned your willingness to fight" with Alessandra quickly telling her she was right.

Looking straight into Gisele's eyes, Alessandra says "I need to go look in the mirror, do I really want my career to end on defeat after defeat or do I want to prove my career wasn't some fluke" Gisele nods as she helps a shaky legged Alessandra to her feet, helping her to her stool to finish cleaning her up.

In the Chimera corner the mood is different, Blake getting a pat on her back from Charlize, who tells her "great work there Blake, I wish you would do that more often" making Lively joke that she would like to too, though there is a hint of truth to her statement.

Coming to the ring center after they are cleaned up, Alessandra comes over to Blake to shake her right hand, telling her "good fight" as Blake smiles while nodding in response, soon enough the referee raises the winners hand as Alessandra nods along to show she knows the better woman won.

Stepping out the ring to head to the back, Alessandra will need to pull her finger out to make sure her career doesn't end with a whimper, with Gisele and Eva beside her, along with her stable, she has the support to pick herself up.

While in the ring Blake is in the same boat, Charlize gives her a hug as she tells her "you will rule this ring once again" the support is there for Blake to get back into title contention, there is a champion in her, she needs to find it though to make sure she doesn't just pick up success in the short term.

Heading out the ring after going on a lap of honour, Blake is looking like this New Year celebration will be a good one, with a positive attitude going into next year, the sky could be the limit for her.
