(Beever's Babes vs Foxfire Atlantic Boxing)

Intro:
The second fight of round three of the Contenders Six tournament sees two women with a big chance to push a rival out the way of the title, Maya Jama and Rose Byrne both want that title shot badly.

Maya is 25 years old; she stands 5'7, holding a record of 3 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with only 1 defeat.

Rose is 40 years old; she stands 5'6 ½, holding a record of 5 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 13 defeats.

So far in the tournament they've both won one fight and lost the other, Maya kicked off the tournament in impressive style knocking out Lottie Moss, she was stunned though in defeat by the hard hitting Lacey Turner, losing her undefeated record to the soap star.

Meanwhile Rose lost her first fight in her home town, losing to Alice Eve in that way though seemed to spur her on for the second round of fights, where she'd take down the undefeated rookie Samaria Regelado, meaning both currently have every chance of walking away with the title shot if they can go undefeated from this point on.

Before the fight though they sat in front of a white wall with the blue BBU badge on it, first up in the seat was a not so happy looking Maya.

Who promptly says "first I want to give a message to Lacey, I hope you don't think you have quaking in my boots, I will fight you again and you will kiss my boots to show me the respect I deserve" her fists visibly clenched as she says that.

Turning her attention to her opponent next, Maya tells the camera "and to you Rose, I am shocked you are even classed as a contender, you are old and worn out in my eyes, I guess this is one last battle for the warrior who doesn't know when to quit or whatever bulls**t you see yourself as!"

Leaning forwards; Maya adds "listen closely you c***! I am going to break you down so badly that you'll want to quit the tournament and hide from me, you've never seen what I am like when I am furious, you will wish I had beaten Lacey" she storms off after she is done.

Rose is up next looking much more relaxed of the two women, she brushes her dress down before saying "I have to admit I was so relieved to put that mess behind me with Alice, beating Samaria I hope is a reminder of what I can do in that ring to any doubter"

Lifting her fists up, Rose tells the world "as long as I have these I am dangerous, I've heard people saying I am ready for the scrap heap, that my stable should have picked someone else, this tournament is as much about getting respect as getting a title shot"

Smiling before she says "oh and Maya, I know you like taking trophies and making people kiss your boots, so I hope for your sake you win because I hate bullies, in fact I might ram my foot so far up your ass, that you can taste them you over rated bytch, understand me?" Laughing as she heads off.

Fight night in Atlanta's State Farm Center, Maya is out first with Sharon Davis beside her, she thuds her gloves together as she jogs down the aisle, looking fully focused on the task at hand.

The TV presenter is wearing a blue sports bra with red trim, matching trunks and shoes, red gloves and her hair is tied back into a braid.

Stepping inside the ring, Maya does give the fans a wave before getting to her corner, where she is working on her punching drills, while Sharon tells her to make an example out of Rose for the rest of the field.

Rose is led out by Sophia Myles, they both look cool as they head down the aisle, neither in a rush as they nod to fans in the front row, seemingly wanting to make Maya wait a little bit.

The actress is wearing a green sports bra, matching trunks and shoes, gold gloves, while her brunette hair is tied back into a braid.

Climbing through the ropes into her corner, Rose pounds the top turnbuckle with her right glove twice before raising it into the air with a big smile on her face.

Both women come to the center of the ring, where they look dead into the others eyes, the tension between them is clear as the referee finishes their instructions.

Told to touch gloves they hammer them together, jogging back to their corners, the referee looks happy enough and signals for the bell to begin 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Knowing the importance of a win here, both start off with probing punches, neither pushing the boat out in the opening minute, just trading jabs to find an opening.

Rose is the first to push the pace up a gear, she dips down to hammer in two hooks to the body, she takes a straight to her face as she tries to back away to space.

That seems to have woken up the action, Maya opening up more as she throws combos at the head of Rose, who is looking to body up so she work those abs.

But the younger woman is controlling the action for the most part, drilling Rose to her face to keep her at range, moving around the ring up on her toes.

Though as they head into the final thirty seconds, Rose slips a right to get into the pocket, hammering a right of her own to the abs, a left hook hammers Jama in her ribs to make her hiss out.

Fists fly in the final moments of the round, the bell rings to end the round with both turn back to their corners, the coaching teams seem happy that was a good warm up round for them.

Round 2:
Dancing out her corner looking to keep that range early on, Maya is able to dig Rose around her guard to her face, the Aussie moving her head more to try to dodge those punches, Maya like a sharp shooter though with her accuracy.

Maya manages to herd her opponent back to the ropes, keeping Rose mostly behind her gloves as the Foxfire fighter is firing single punches back.

Maybe it was just being patient on Rose's part, a jab is parried by her so she can step inside with a left/right into the abs, an overhand left glances off the jaw of the retreating Maya.

Rose doesn't give her much time to breath though, stepping in to force the heated exchanges again, not letting Maya off the leash too far, wanting this to be a stand up war it seems.

A missed straight by Maya leads to her getting clipped to the jaw with a right, while a left slams again into her abs as she gasps out.

Finishing the round behind her guard, Maya looks annoyed that she started so brightly, yet knows she probably threw that round away by letting Rose land the better work to finish things.

Round 3:
Throwing headhunting combinations at Byrne, Maya is not letting the last round bother her, dodging an attempted straight to her body, firing a counter right to the side of the Aussie's head to send sweat flying.

While Rose is landing some crisp body shots in, Maya is bashing her around her face with her own hard shots, an uppercut knocks Rose back onto her heels around the half way point of the round.

Turning on the jets; Maya bashes Rose onto the ropes, where she cuts the bottom lip of the actress with a left cross, Rose cries out and covers up more tightly.

Taking a page out of her opponent's book, Maya starts swinging at the body; forcing grunts from Byrne, which must be music to her eyes right now.

She leaves her left a little too low though and Rose smacks her across her face with a right hook, sending sweat off her head now and making Maya back off.

As Rose tries to take control of the round, she gets in two hooks to the body, before getting nudged back so Maya can smack a left to the side of her head.

At the bell the fighters step apart with their eyes locked for a moment, they turn back to their corners after the referee orders them again, both seeming to gasp the task in front of them now.

Round 4:
Digging in more punches through the gloves of Rose to those cut lips, Maya almost seems to be taking pleasure in seeing the look of pain on her opponent's face, blood starting to run onto the chin of Byrne.

Rose has always been a game fighter though, she soon deflects a right aimed at her mouth, firing a right of her own into the body, an overhand left just gazes the chin of Jama as another warning shot.

Needing to step back and land a double jab into the face of Rose, Maya gets back on the move after sitting down on her punches more there.

Keeping Rose mostly at arms length, Maya is looking more comfortable by the second compared to Rose, who is starting to have some swelling around her cheeks from the more punches going through her gloves.

As the round heads into the final forty five seconds, Rose knowing she needs to do something, feints with a right before slashing a left across the cheek of Maya; ducking the attempted straight, Rose lands an uppercut to the body to make Maya hiss out and wince.

They slam away at the others body as Rose finally bodies up to her opponent, sweat flies off bodies as the sound of leather on flesh resounds around them.

At the conclusion of the round they nudge apart, Maya thudding her gloves together in a sign of frustration, while she is winning rounds, she can't keep Rose where she wants her, Sharon needing to remind her that the rounds are that matters till she can find an opening for a knockout.

Round 5:
As with the last two rounds the pattern begins the same, Maya just has too much speed early on for Rose to compete with, leading to her needing to be smart with her defence to not ship too many punches.

Though it is becoming obvious that Maya's attacks are getting a little too one dimensional, she is focusing on throwing a left/right combo up the middle to try to find a way to those bloody lips, the hooks are not coming with as much tenacity or power.

It could be a mistake as Rose deflects the jab and lands an overhand right to the ear of Maya, who mouths "f***" as she tries to step away, Rose though is throwing looping hooks.

A left hook smacks Maya across her chin to send her on her back foot, Rose stepping inside with her head down, pumping body shots in as Maya is forced to clinch up.

After being split up Maya reminds Rose of that stiff jab, a double jab lands on the nose of the Aussie to back her off, giving Maya a moment to breath.

Dipping down under a straight, Rose lands an overhand left to knock Maya onto her heels, Maya forced to cover up as Rose powers her onto the ropes.

The bell rings to end the round with Rose looking over at her corner with a look that says "that's it" Sophia smiling as she gets a sponge to wash her down of blood from that pesky lip.

Across the ring Sharon is telling Maya to switch things up, Maya nodding as she looks up with an angry look on her face, angry at herself and as she looks over at Rose, her opponent for maybe proving tougher then she thought.

Round 6:
As they come back out, the body work of Rose seems to be beginning to pay dividends, Maya isn't as quick out the blocks, leading to a exchange at the center of the ring.

More body shots come in from Rose, she takes two straight shots into her face though to back her off as the crowd cheer both women on, sweat flies off the head of Byrne.

Pressing Rose near the ropes, Maya is doing as she is told, swinging more hooks as she looks to take the head off of the veteran, who pulls her into a clinch to stop the assault.

After they are split up, Maya looks to box more on the front foot, missing with a jab though and eating an uppercut to her body, that looks to have winded her as she bends down.

An overhand left smacks Maya in her ear again, a right lands in the body of the presenter to make her bend down, AN UPPERCUT SMACKS MAYA FLUSH IN THE FACE AND SENDS HER DOWN TO HER BACK SPREAD EAGLE!

"Stay down!" Yells Rose before turning on her heels to the neutral corner, 1...2...3... Maya doesn't look like she can argue with Rose as she groans, 4...5...6.. Turning her head to the side, the gumshield comes out, 7...8...9...10 Maya is counted out!

Winner Rose Byrne KO Round 6

After:
Those who writ off Rose maybe regretting that, she is beaming as she heads over to Maya to look her over, then raises her fists up as she whoops in celebration.

Returning to her corner to be met by an ecstatic Sophia, they embrace as Sophia is heard saying "another step towards the top" with Rose beaming over this victory.

Maya on the other hand has to be helped up to her feet, she still looks shook up as she holds onto the ropes, Sharon needing to help her over to her stool to sit and get time to recover.

Of course the Beever's corner looks worried with how things have turned for Maya lately, Sharon telling her fighter after she comes around fully "you still have much to learn it seems, I'm gonna work you like a dog in that gym on Thursday" Maya just can nod looking glum.

The referee soon enough brings the fighters to the center of the ring, Maya has her head down looking gutted as Rose gets her hand raised, Rose just grins as she sees what she has done to the younger woman.

Maya steps out the ring with Sharon looking like she doesn't know if it is best to try to console her or give her tough love, neither says a word as they head through the curtain to the backstage.

Inside the ring Rose is yelling "listen guys, bullies are beatable so don't shy away from them!" Winking at the cameras as she poses with her right arm flexed.

As soon as the photos are taken, Rose leaves with Sophia beside her, they look almost giddy as they head up the aisle, knowing the chance to win this tournament is still there, will she be the surprise winner?
