Heidi Range vs Ewelina Lisowska

(Lioness Club vs BBU Independent)
(19-13, 16 KO vs 5-0, 5 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Heidi Range racked up three promising wins last season but she turns 37 in a couple of months time so the Lioness Club scouts younger flyweight potential on top of parting ways with long-time member Jeanette Biedermann. Heidi realizes she hasn't reached the levels of Cheryl Cole but she doesn't understand all that buzz surrounding Ewelina Lisowska as the prime prospect set to join the Barnet-based squad.

"Look, I know this little tramp beat Nadine Coyle up lately. Big deal! I've busted up Nadine so many times in the gym I lost count myself. I hear Doda is pulling all the strings on this move. Grrr... I wish our UK girlsbands weren't on a damn hiatus all the time. It's not like Ewelina is 19 years old or something. Whatever. I'm gonna knock her the hell OUT and that closes the door on her joining MY stable!"

Ewelina realizes she's basically facing the second toughest Lioness Club flyweight tonight (some would argue Mandy Capristo hasn't fully reached her potential though) and keeps it strictly business during the introductions: "I know my fists must do all the talking! I'm in the best shape of my life! I know what lies ahead... I really like Heidi as a singer but her boxing skills are... oh well, let's just see if she can handle my business!" (giggles).

Heidi Range wears a red crop top, matching hip-higgers & white gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a loose bun at the back of her head. Ewelina Lisowska wears a black crop top, matching hip-huggers & red gloves. Long raven-black hair tied in a braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls waste no time in applying the jabbing pressure but the revenue is minimal as neither of them is able to secure the breakthrough albeit the crowd enjoys the aggressive effort. Heidi sticks to her head-hunting approach but Ewelina quickly abandons a similar plan and belts the blonde across the ribcage which allows her to find a hole where she outworks the older singer down the stretch. Heidi misfires with her head shots in the second minute and struggles to embrace Lisowska's body assault; she yields real estate and is backed onto the ropes thereafter but finds a good hooking combo on the mouth that eventually stops the brunette's charge. Ewelina scowls in pain when Heidi rallies to stick more leather into her face late in the going and has to clinch the blonde in order to prevent her from gaining more steam.

Round 2:
Heidi gets more aggressive and clocks Ewelina with a jabbing rally that stymies the younger singer's initial aggressive plan. Both girls exchange more blows from point-blank range but Heidi lacks the zip required to throw her opponent off balance and has to accept the slugging plan that seemingly suits the brunette's style. The Barnet audience roars in delight when Range wobbles to her side following a quick loop on the temple and it's either a case of Merseyside bias in London or maybe we have more Polish fans in the audience than BBU TV anticipated. Ewelina works the left hand to snap the blonde's head back but Heidi remains glued to the spot and prevents the brunette from thumping her back to the ropes. She lands a proper hooking combo in the Pole's mouth herself but eats another looping response on the temple and scowls in anger when Ewelina belts her across the tummy right at the bell.

Round 3:
Polish 'Queen Bee' Dorota Rabczewska makes a late entrance into the arena and steals the spotlight ahead of the third which kinda affects Lisowska who gets bounced around the ring following a dominant jabbing run from the Merseyside singer. Heidi splits the brunette's high guard repeatedly and barks in her efforts while the lithe Pole struggles to deploy the overhand response and gets bumped onto the ropes where Range belts her in the guts to continue with her superior performance. Ewelina languished behind a tight earmuff and misfires on her slugging response while Heidi loops methodical punishment whenever she finds her range and shuts the dark-haired prospect in a sustained albeit slightly half-hearted fashion. Ewelina shouts in anger once the round ends and shakes her head in disgust while Heidi tells Mel B. "she's not that tough, hun!" which draws a wild laugh from Doda who has overheard this comment.

Round 4:
Ewelina shows her tough nature early in the fourth though as she cranks up the body assault to rip visible marks in Heidi's ribcage during a dominant spell of pressure. Heidi tries to swing over the top but gets belted too often for comfort and bumps her chin off the top of Lisowska's shoulder before the Polish brunette pummels her onto the ropes where she digs deep into the soft belly tissue. Ugh! Heidi finds herself leaking resistance as Ewelina almost headbutts her in the process but the midriff damage is pretty severe and leaves Range clinching the younger foe. Ewelina has none of that and shakes the blonde off almost tackling her onto the canvas, she rips a left hook on the jaw and traps the Mersey lass on the turnbuckle before ripping more vicious body shots to soften the older singer down. Ugh! Heidi squeals in pain as she's getting ravaged to the body and stumbles to the side come the bell looking rather vulnerable here. No cheesy comments during the interval this time while Ewelina stares down her Heidi & Mel tandem from the opposite side.

Round 5:
Ewelina racks up another body assault success and outworks the gimpy blonde who has a hard time responding in a similar fashion. Heidi bounces off the top of the Pole's forehead instead of blasting her right up the chimney and gets backed onto the ropes once she all those belting harpoons reach the target. Ewelina is too quick on her feet for Range to even clinch her and she gets whacked across the chin for a good measure when Lisowska gets vocal and switches her targets. Heidi applies the earmuff defense but just can't swing back at the smaller foe before it gets ugly in the final miniute when Ewelina rocks her into loud spasms through an uppercut series that finds the chin with relative ease. Ugh! Mel B. is downright upset at the bell and tries to ignore Doda's wild screams from nearby: "Yeah, I KNOW you frickin' love this girl but I have a job to do!" Meanwhile Heidi is busy trying to catch her breath and doesn't even notice Doda's cheering efforts.

Round 6:
Ewelina winks back at Doda and brings out the jabbing heat that outworks the slow-moving opponent early in the sixth again. Heidi tries to cover up for another body blast but gets caught out when she eats a scything cross on the jaw and wobbles onto her heels on the spot. Uh-oh! She swings back from her heels which proves to be a bad idea and gets promptly countered with Lisowska driving a brutal uppercut into her jaw instead! HEIDI IS HURT!!! She wobbles to her heels with her loudest yelp of the night yet and doesn't raise her arms fats enough when the Pole NAILS her with a vicious cross hook on the nose... DOWN GOES RANGE!!! The proud Mersey lass hits the deck on her backside HARD and blinks in frantic fashion as if she hasn't embraced this knockdown at all. The ref yells straight in her face but she only makes her move at six and still looks wobbly when she gets up at nine. She's fortunate there's no blood spillage from her nose according to BBU TV's Denise van Outen but Lisowska is all over her when the fight is resumed and punches the rattled blonde onto the ropes where she brings out more head-hunting heat and shuts the Mersey veteran behind a desperate earmuff. Still a full minute left on the clock and Heidi is getting ripped to shreds as she doesn't send anything back and hangs on for dear life until Ewelina BLOWS into her jaw with a double uppercut whammy before a looping hook on the temple spins Heidi around and SLIDES HER ONTO HER KNEES!!! Heidi faces the crowd and wobbles over the ropes to the point only her legs are still in the ring and Mel B. rushes inside to prevent the blonde from leaving the area alltogether. She grabs Heidi's legs and pulls her back in but in the meantime the ref has called this one off!!! KO6 Ewelina Lisowska!!!

AFTER: No controversy here as Heidi has been knocked semi-unconscious and complains about an aching jaw while being helped back to her stool. Mel B. turns back to the Polish singer and gives her a thumbs up gesture before making way for Doda who's climbed the ring already and wants to give her compatriot a big hug! "Gonna be a loooong party tonight! I knew you can do it, hun! What a way to smoke that Mersey bytch down!!! We need a new elite flyweight in the Lioness Club and you're the chosen one!!"

The news of Ewelina Lisowska joining the Lioness Club hasn't been made official during the post-fight announcement but it's basically a foregone conclusion reserved for the VIP afterparty. Since Jeanette Biedermann has been released following her tonight's defeat there's a roster spot available and there was a reason why Ewelina secured the Main Event billing in first place. Heidi Range was the only person who could have delayed the ineviteable facts however Denise van Outen reckons most of North London isn't exactly sad over her inability to do so! There's a new Lioness player in town who can even challenge Cheryl Cole beyond the tattoos category!

Official Result: Ewelina Lisowska def. Heidi Range KO6.
