Samara Weaving vs Stephanie Davis

BEFORE: This fight was supposed to happen back on the September's Ashes PPV already but Boxing Day is equally as important date to showcase those elite skills. Samara Weaving is probably the best Australian flyweight the BBU fans haven't heard of due to her somewhat questionable schedule while Stephanie Davis is still reeling from the horrendous Contenders Six experience where she suffered no less than five defeats despite entering that tournament as one of the favorites.

Both girls appear to be very animated during the introductions and Davis triggers the verbal spat that ends with Samara throwing a punch over the referee's shoulder! Ugh! Kats' head trainer Gail Kim wants to step in and teach the blonde some manners which only delays the opening bell but thankfully we're ready for this flyweight battle soon enough and BBU TV's Denise van Outen smells a grudge classic here!

Samara Weaving wears a light blue bikini set & golden gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Stephanie Davis wears a red bikini set & white gloves. Long black hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Stephanie jumps into a hectic jabbing assault but Samara upstages her in this slugging drill which results in immediate crowd approval as both girls punish each other in close range to the point Kats coach Gail Kim loses her temper a little earlier than usual! Most of the punches land upstairs and result in significant head rocking but Stephanie just can't enforce her will on the Aussie tourist and gets blasted on the jugs when Samara switches her tactics. Another wicked hook on the boobs wobbles the brunette onto her heels where she just can't find that looping response and gets backed into the ropes as Weaving assumes command. Davis bails out of the trap in the corner at the last moment but spends remainder of the round in retreat which makes Gail Kim even more angry at the bell.

Round 2:
Samara resumes the aerial jabbing assault but Stephanie tackles her to the body this time and headbutts the blonde actress in the process. Both women lock horns in the phone booth as Samara refuses to back off and bounces into the brunette's boobs before a quick uppercut nails the Brit on the jaw. Stephanie drops back and misses on the swinging response while the blonde steps up and lands another nice punch on the jaw. Stephanie's head begins to swivel around down the stretch as the blonde's head-hunting pursuit comes to the fore and leaves the brunette in a spot of bother when she gets nailed on the lips and slumps on her heels with a whimper. She's unable to break through the Aussie jabbing attack and hugs the ropes before too long while Samara cashes in with additional body shots to shut the Brit down during the closing stages of the round.

Rounds 3 & 4:
Things get hectic but also chaotic during the next couple of rounds as both women embrace the mind over matter approach and try to knock each other's head outright. Davis finds more success in the third and rocks the blonde ponytail back while Samara pays a price for becoming too one-dimensional and not exploring the jug route anymore. Coach Gail Kim is happy enough with Stephanie trying to inflict so much damage upstairs as she sends Weaving reeling onto the ropes which triggers a lenghty clinch but the precision goes away in the fourth which sucks Davis into a jabbing vacuum as the Aussie outworks her in close range. A nasty crippling hook on the boobs opens the floodgates and Samara gives her opponent a proper dose of jug muggin' before blasting her on the chin outright. Ugh! Stephanie drops onto the ropes and can't swing back at the charging blonde who cuts her up under the left eye and dominates the final minute of the fourth with brutally effective jabbing drive.

Round 5:
Stephanie is slow to make her moves as she leaks too many punches upstairs again but Samara cashes in with a belting hook across the navel and applies the uppercut pressure into the brunette's mounds which makes the Brit really feet the heat next. Ugh! Davis drops onto her heels and continues to bounce off the Aussie forearms before Weaving nails her with a cross hook on the chin and folds into loud spasms. Another brutal overhand finds the temple and spins Stephanie to the side before a wicked uppercut on the chin LIFTS DAVIS OFF HER FEET and sends her tumbling down on the canvas! Coach Gail Kim throws some object at the joyful tourist while her protegee makes a desperate lunge to fend off the looming disaster. She gets up at six but wobbles back onto the ropes and appears to be dizzy enough to warrant a stoppage, The bloody gash under the eye leaks more liquid as well and the shaky Brit doesn't respond to the referee's call so the fight is stopped! TKO5 Samara Weaving!!!

AFTER: Stephanie drops to her knees when the ref calls it a day and tries so hard not to shed a tear here while Samara is occupied with obscene gestures aimed at Gail Kim and the Kear's Kats entourage. She wants to make a run at the championship belts next year and is willing to "take down anyone bold enough to enter the ring". Denise van Outen believes Stephanie Davis hasn't recovered from the Contenders Six disaster but she's a valuable scalp on anyone's resume and Samara should celebrate tonight's victory in style even if her elite prospects require another test or two!
