Results: Vassago; Story: Caspian

Jessica:
(25, 5’9, 4:2 BBU, SIRENs )

Rachael:
(31, 5’9, 2:2 BBU, Wildetime Boxing)

BEFORE:
Rachael Finch hasn’t fought since this February, but don’t let that technicality stop her. Here she comes striding down the ramp, beaming wide for the crowds, red bikini showing off her tanned and toned form, looking great for someone just past the age of 30.

“I’ve accomplished loads both inside and outside the ring, and hence I’m not too worried about Clements tonight. Sure, she’s got a good record, but that’s over in the FCBA, which we all know is bloated with has-been fighters and tomato cans. I’ll be adding my mark to Clements’ loss-count tonight, that’s for sure.”

Finch winking at the cameras by ringside, before mounting the steel steps to plenty of cat-calls and whistles from the audience.

Her opponent, Jessica Clements, has had far more action in the previous few months compared to Finch’s entire career, and thus, she might have every reason to be smiling as she emerges from behind the curtains, looking lean and mean in her black bikini and white shawl draped around the shoulders.

“Rachael’s getting old. She doesn’t belong in the ring with us youngsters. So what if she once was the champion, or that she’s won some beauty contests in the past? We’re fighting for real in the ring tonight and trust me, I won’t be asking her for any autographs.”

Girls face off in the ring, hands placed firm on hips and noses almost touching as they bang their gloves together when the ref requests them to. All that’s left is to wait for the final bell to go. Finch in black gloves; Clements in yellow. HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Slow first minute as both girls pace each other, both hands raised high and covering the majority of their faces. But Rachael’s the one who initiates the first exchange of punches, sending jabs smack into Jessica’s arms, then targeting the nostrils and lips that are hiding right behind the gates. Clements defending well but won’t be too happy with letting those punches land over and over again - even steel gates like hers can be knocked down eventually, from the constant stream of abuse. Clements retaliating late-round with a couple of her jab-jab-swing combos, but Finch just too fresh to get caught - the Wildtime boxer weaves back and then resumes her jabbing at the face from afar. This aggression bears fruit in the third minute, with Finch too fast, sneaking in some straight shots past Jessica’s defences, thereby snagging the chin and sending Clements bounding backwards rather than stay put to engage. Good round to Finch overall, we feel.

ROUND 2:
Jessica’s still relying on her power to try and get things done, but of course we’re left questioning the strategy’s effectiveness after a first minute of no-shows from Clements, with Finch easily escaping out of harm’s way of her hooks, then counter-punching with stiff straight hands landing on the Siren’s body and then up into the lips. Jessica finally relenting, moving backwards, defeated, covering up her vulnerable parts and then tries to get Finch to chase after her. Rachael takes the bait, coming forward and poking at the face and body, but then narrowly EATS a right hook from Clements, that rattles off her right arm just in time. Jessica roaring back just like that, taking wild lunges forward, but they’re harmlessly bouncing off of Rachael’s guard and not much else. Finch staying calm, shooting her hands in whenever an opening presents itself, still managing to get away with murder by the time the round ends after Clements takes one to the chin and goes flying backwards into the ropes. Bell rings before Finch can capitalise, however. Not that she needs to, after taking another superb round for herself.

ROUND 3:
That’s it - Clements finally learnt her lesson, stays back and dances left to right. Finch doing the same routine, and for the first minute, both wary girls take only pawing shots at each other, afraid of the uncertainty of rushing forward. Of course, this ain’t a cooperative dance or anything, with one partner aiming to sweep the other girl off of her feet and make her stay on her back. Finch initiates her jabbing routine, quick-fire shots directed at Clements’ head, but Jessica manages to weave backwards, more measured this time, before she ROCKS a side uppercut into Finch’s body. Then another one lands, and another, and Rachael is clearly seen grimacing from the pain wrought to her ribs. Finch still swinging away, thinking that it’s just a matter of time before her opponent runs out of steam and luck. No dice, however, as Clements continues helping herself to a bounty of belly swipes and hard hooks sent into the raised arms, battering Rachael quite badly by the time the round ends. All that lead work from Finch simply evaporating like that, as she’s left panting by the bell.

ROUND 4:
Finch’s overeagerness cost her the previous round, and boy does she look furious - plenty of fight left in the ‘old’ woman, for sure, rushing forward at the bell hoping to prove it. Clements initially shocked by the sudden aggression, eats a couple of jabs sent into her chin and tummy, but then the Siren quickly rallies, covers up and starts pushing back, sending fists disappearing into stomach when Finch ain’t looking or in mid-swing, before stuffing the brunette’s lips with more leather. Girls mutually punishing each other for a good minute or so mid-round, turning those pretty heads to either side before clinching up in the middle of the ring and trying to push each other backwards to the ropes. Clements undoubtedly having the advantage in clinch warfare, with her bulkier frame, immediately uses her increased confidence to shove the former beauty queen back and stack her up with an easily-placed uppercut to the chin! OW!!! Rachael looking dazed, made worse when ANOTHER HOOK suddenly sails into the side of her head, sending her flying off her feet and DOWN onto her side! It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Jessica Clements!

Ooooh, how these girls’ fortunes have turned in a heartbeat! Clements breathing hard, scoffing down at her fallen adversary before turning back to her own corner. To think that an old-timer like Finch could have EVER competed with her is beyond rhyme and reason, she thinks! Finch however already pushing that once-pristine body upwards bit by bit, muscles straining as she makes it up to her feet by the count of 8! She’s set to continue with a small nod to the referee!

No mercy in Clements’ eyes, however, as the Siren fills the void like the tide coming in, inevitable and uncontrollable, snapping shots into Finch’s nose in a steady stream of whap whap whap, the brunette covering up and running for her life in the final thirty seconds, managing to make it out of the lion’s den alive when the referee calls for the bell. Definitely Clements’ round with that late-round knockout attempt, leaving Finch panting hard on the ropes and struggling to pick up the pieces.

ROUND 5:
No more wild rush forward from either girl as even Rachael’s looking winded when the bell rings, with a hard enough time getting up from her wooden stool as it is. Clements still coming onto her confidently, sensing that it’s the moment to clean house. She shocks Rachael to the middle of the arms with a short but powerful straight, testing the remainder of her defences but also pushing her foe back into the ropes again. Finch powerless, groaning, absorbing in a daze, too spent to keep up with the younger girl’s speed and power, takes another right hand straight to the nose that has her reeling backwards in further pain. Crowd roars as they too sense the end - Clements suddenly getting in close and swinging for the wind in both directions: left hand like a battering ram sent into the girl’s side and tummy, her other fist turning the head to the side, and all of a sudden, Rachael’s SENT DOWN TO CANVAS ONCE MORE! No single punch ended things here - really just a complete, dominating performance from the Siren as she cuts the strings of her opponent and allows Finch to crumple! Referee stands over, Rachael collapsed to her side and not making any move to recover, waves this fight off!

Official Decision: Jessica Clements defeats Rachael Finch via KO5!

AFTER:
KO in the fifth round for Jessica Clements! The Siren raises a confident arm into the air, chest puffed out, sweat rolling down her forehead and the rest of her body still brimming with leftover energy for another five rounds if necessary. She completely ignores Finch as she returns to her corner to celebrate, before turning her attention to the scrambling reporters by ringside.

“Told ya I could do it, and do it in style to boot. All the best to Finch - I sincerely wish her the best in whatever she decides to do in her future. I just hope that it ain’t boxing!” Clements smirking, with snark in her voice.

Rachael looking shellshocked still as she sits up on the ropes but only with the help of her trainers. A dishevelled mess, with hair clinging to her face, she’s too out of it to respond to reporters’ queries as she’s led back up the ramp.
