BEFORE:
SIRENs hosting another free agent fight here in their gym down in Edinburgh, Scotland, but make no mistake, it’s still an officially sanctioned fight between two up-and-coming American models, who have flown all the way across the Atlantic just to participate.

“It’s harder to make a name for one’s self over there,” Jessica admitting with a nod. There are just so many talented individuals in the FCBA. So we take whatever fights we’re offered, whether it’s on this side or the other.” 

Scarlett nodding along as she’s seated across the table from the brunette. The spunky blonde may be in her debut performance, but her attitude’s not showing any signs of worry.

“Yeah, you could say that I flew over the ocean just to kick her ass!” Scarlett grinning with her tongue stuck out and earning an eye-roll from Clements. “I’m excited,” the blonde continues. “Obviously I don’t really know how this will go tonight, but I’ve been training hard and I hope to finish her off early.”

Girls staring down at the podium, burying nervous minds underneath those cocky stares into each other’s eyes. They’re the same height here, though Jessica’s built slightly more sturdy than the lanky Scarlett. Scarlett has her platinum blonde hair bundled up high, donning a red bikini top and in denim short shorts, coming into the ring with black gloves strapped on. Jessica with a white sports bra, grey spandex and blue gloves on both hands. HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Jessica’s frame showing plenty of promise: a good combination of speed and power demonstrated in her debut against Baskin Champion all those months ago. She doesn’t expect too much trouble from the latest rookie here and this becomes her own undoing. Scarlett may not have the same built or power, but boy is she able to move fast in her debut. She’s showing lots of energy as she circles and punches, circles and punches, giving Jess lots of trouble early. Clements trying to shoot in her own shots in between the barrage of jabs thrown at her head, but finding it difficult to land anything significant. Instead, her face is getting rearranged by the newcomer here, who’s starting to smirk again behind her gloves as she lands shot after shot into the middle of Clement’s facial features. Round 1 ends and suddenly Clements ain’t looking so hot anymore, with those inevitable agents in the rafters considering her opponent in this fight for the first time instead.

ROUND 2:
It’s more of the same here in the second with Scarlett losing none of her enthusiasm and Jessica still struggling to adapt to someone who’s moving faster than her. When she faced off against Baskin last December, it was an opening icebreaker for both girls as they encountered a foe equal in terms of both height and weight. This will certainly become the real test as these two women continue moving forward in their respective careers, facing off against dissimilar opponents and learning how to deal with unexpected situations. Jessica slowly getting the rhythm of her foe, however, defending with more guarded arms and picking her shots a little better. But another unlucky flurry into her lips in the final seconds of the round sends her wobbling awkwardly off to the side, face screwed up in abject pain. Scarlett looks ready to jump in to capitalise, but is stopped by the referee and the bell. Hopefully we get a clearer sense of dominance from one lady in the third.

ROUND 3:
Jessica still moving slowly on those legs of lead - she needs to keep moving if she intends to defend herself well in there. No wonder Scarlett’s thinking her opponent is none other than a punching bag left hanging in the gym, good for nothing else but target practice. The blonde continues slamming hard punches into the body, rocking Jess’ tummy and of course the middle of her guard, breaking her defences down a little bit at a time. After ANOTHER flurry left-right-left lands on the arms, however, Jessica suddenly ROARS back with a wicked right hand that catches Leithold CLEAN on the mouth! OUCH! Where did THAT comes from? Perhaps she didn’t expect the bag to hit back suddenly, and hard! It’s Scarlett who’s reeling back from that one powerful shot to the kisser, and Clements’ turn to wade in to exact revenge on her lean frame. Leithold grunting as another left lands on her side, but part of her still refusing to back away completely. Jessica manages to thump a couple more gloves off the body before the two girls exact an all-out swinging marathon on each other, right in the middle of the ring! Mutual grunts as finally they get all the target practice they want! Clements coming out a little bit more strongly overall with that sudden comeback, but she’s still in a precarious situation if she doesn’t find a way to sustain her lead.

ROUND 4:
However, it looks like Scarlett’s been hurt by that last exchange, her lithe frame giving her lots of speed but not a lot of resilience. She’s stumbling out of corner and it’s Jessica’s turn to grin as she comes forward with some confident movements. Brunette taking her time yet her earlier efforts to stay calm and collected all this while finally paying off. Scarlett like a madwoman as she sees her escape route getting cut off repeatedly, starts to hound at the arms with random jabs and swings. But Clements picking her shots well, jamming straight rights into her face and chin, thereby ROCKING her to the point of senselessness as she lets out loud grunts. Scarlett finally TAKEN off her feet when a clean right hook crashes into her face, and it’s a KNOCKDOWN for Jessica Clements in the late fourth round!

There’s what we were impressed with in the first place, ladies and gentlemen! Clements putting a fellow rookie down in decisive fashion, and it’s to Scarlett’s credit when she manages to clamber back up to her feet, sputtering and gasping all the way by the count of 8. 

ROUND 5:
Round 5 and it’s still not looking good for one American model, however, who’s barely stumbling out of corner and leaving Jess Clements to simply clean her house. More jabs from afar knocking the blonde’s head backwards, whipping the loose blonde hair in all directions. Scarlett’s arms barely put up as Jess puts all her power into a sudden, wind-up cross, which PLOWS into her face and TAKES the poor girl off her feet, sending her DOWN onto her back with a THUDDDD. It’s definitely over at this point, folks!

Official Decision: Jessica Clements defeats Scarlett Leithold via KO5!

AFTER:
We’re kind of sorry for doubting the rookie in the opening few minutes - Clements taking out her competition early enough, and in convincing fashion! We’d certainly predict a bright future in the ring for this model as she continues to steamroll through her opponents!

“I wasn’t expecting her speed. But I think I remained calm and that made all the difference in there,” Jessica beaming at reporters by ringside. “At the same time, I felt that I could have done better, or put her away earlier, y’know? We’ll see next time.”

Scarlett left blubbering in the ring, immobilised by some hidden pain wracking her body. Medics treating her and trying to coax her into standing back up. At least she receives a spattering of applause from the audience members as she leaves with her coach’s arms around her shoulders. Hopefully someone gives this girl a second chance to shine in another bout in the future!
