Yasmin Verheijen vs Esti Ginzburg

BEFORE: This bout was originally scheduled to take place on the sands of Mauritius in beach boxing rules however due to COVID-19 restrictions BBU travels to the city of Amsterdam instead where Yasmin Verheijen takes on Esti Ginzburg in her own back yard: "I'm happy that Esti still took the fight despite the neutral location no longer available for the time being. I hope we return to Mauritius sooner than later but for now I just wanna beat her up right here at home!", Yasmin Verheijen remains in very good spirits while talking to BBU TV's Georgie Thompson.

Meanwhile Esti is always happy to accept the classic blonde vs brunette rivalry regardless of the setting: "I'm here to spoil to home party! I would have loved to bury Yasmin's head in the sand over in Mauritius but silencing the home favorite suits me very fine as well! Wish me luck!" (giggles).

Yasmin Verheijen wears a beige bandeau bikini set & orange gloves. Long dark brown hair in loose waves. Esti Ginzburg wears a pink bikini top with black trim, black panties & white gloves. Long blonde hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Esti comes out firing and truly wants to silence the sea of orange as she splits Yasmin's mitts and knocks her head around much to the crowd's dismay. Yasmin bends to the side after taking a couple of monster hits on the mouth and struggles to swing from the back foot as Esti continues to bump her around until she traps her on the ropes and switches low to punish the exposed midriff. Ugh! Yasmin just can't shake the Israeli tourist off and even her clinching attempts are neutralized as Ginzburg whacks her up the chimney again and keeps rolling along from both flanks until she buries the brunette behind a desperate earmuff. Two more harpoons punish Verheijen's ribcage right before the bell and it's a commanding round for the blonde who doesn't hide her satisfaction much during the interval.

Round 2:
More Ginzburg menace on display as she outworks the former pageant winner to resume rocking her head back & forth. Yasmin's response from behind the guard barely grazes the blonde's flesh before Esti stuns her with a brutal hook on the temple. Yasmin wobbles forward with a whimper and gets NAILED on the chin as Esti DROPS THE DUTCH WOMAN with a powerful uppercut!!! Uh-oh! Yasmin lands on her knees and milks a slowish eight count before she gets up looking misty in the eyes. Talk about home court advantage going AWOL and Esti wants more! She leaps after the subdued opponent and punches Yasmin butt-in-ropes in convincing fashion before the brunette pulls her by the arm and finally locks a much-needed clinch. Still, it's all Ginzburg after six minutes and the Lioness coach Mel B. can't be any more upset right now!

Round 3:
Esti taunts the local starlet with her arms dropped low by the waist but Yasmin is likely too rattled mentally to take the bait. She actually gathers her thoughts during the opening minute and only then the Israeli model realizes she's made a mistake of not dropping the hammer on a clearly shaken up foe! She wants to make up for the slow start but gets sucked in a jabbing vacuum that finally allows the Dutch fans to cheer their favorite as Yasmin smacks several clean punches into the blonde's body before another lenghty clinch prevents Ginzburg from making a comeback. She still blasts a low hook into Verheijen's navel right at the bell but that's too little to late to make a proper difference.

Round 4:
Hectic slugging in the center of the ring lights up the crowd when Yasmin scythes Esti across the mouth and follows through with a quick uppercut on the jaw. Ginzburg's high-guard looks a little suspect for the first time tonight and Yasmin pours head-shots up the middle to send the Israeli tourist reeling thereafter. Yasmin barks in her efforts and allthough she outworks the blonde in the desired close range, she lacks that big punch to really send her into trouble. Esti fights back from behind the guard and lands some nice shots into the brunette's face but finds herself hugging the ropes come the final minute where Yasmin tries to blast her up the middle and grinds her way into a commanding position. One last hook tags Ginzburg's temple and bends her to the side but the Dutch pageant winner runs out of time to pounce on her with more venom.

Round 5:
Esti rolls back to connect with Yasmin's face early on but the knockdown daze has fully deserted the Dutch girl who responds in vicious manner and triggers a proper head-hunting dispute. Esti inflicts a small cut above Yasmin's left eye but gets spun to the side when she eats a double combo on each temple before Verheijen plugs her in the breasts moments later. Ugh! Esti shrieks in pain and raises her head just so Yasmin can SMOKE her with a brutal cross hook on the nose. DOWN GOES GINZBURG!!! The hitherto dominant model loses all the edge by crashing hard onto her backside and blinks in shock as Yasmin quickly struts back to her corner. Esti is far from done here and climbs back to her feet at seven. Ref wants to get on with the action quick and Verheijen soon buries the subdued blonde behind more head shots that dissect the high guard with conviction sending Esti butt-in-ropes. The tourist survives the ordeal but remains rattled by the knockdown and barely throws a punch in response as Yasmin nails her with another wicked cross hook on the mouth to underline her newly found dominance.

Round 6:
Esti's lips begin to swell during the half-distance interval and Yasmin makes sure the tourist soaks up more head-hunting damage triggering another wild dispute in the center of the ring. Esti hangs on tough for a while smacking promising blows into the brunette's face but then gets thumped on the nose one time too many and wobbles into another nasty uppercut on the jaw that opens the floodgates. Ugh! Verheijen cranks up the volume and bashes Esti's face into visible bruises before she sinks her on jelly knees with a liver area flipper out of nowhere. Ugh! Ginzburg never saw that one coming and DOWN SHE GOES again!!! She lands on her knees and bends her head against the canvas but she refuses to give up the ghost and somehow beats the count at eight!!! Uh-oh! Ref rejects playing by house rules and doesn't stop the fight which only makes the Lioness camp angry! Here comes Verheijen blasting more pistons into Esti's face and the Israeli tourist just can't stay off the brutal lane; she gets clobbered onto the ropes and yells out in pain when Yasmin simply tries to break her nose with more wild punches that turn this contest into a one-sided beatdown at this stage. Yasmin piles on the juice as Esti goes limp and bellows out on top of the ropes with her eyes closed so the REF STEPS IN to halt the beating after all. TKO6 Yasmin Verheijen in come-from-behind fashion!!!

AFTER: The sea of orange celebrates this hard-fought success for the former Miss Netherlands but Yasmin remains a little upset she was prevented from knocking the blonde out wholesale: "Huh! Don't even ask me about that knockdown in the second! I lost it right there but I still came back and beat her up! I admire Esti's courage to come here to my backyard but I really wanted to rearrange her face there in the end. Oh, well! TKO is still cool! And I will fight Esti on the Mauritius beach again! Yeah, I'm not afraid to give her a rematch as I know I'm the better woman!" (giggles).

No comments from Ginzburg who barely escaped a broken nose there in the end and she can be utterly furious after building a commanding lead during the first couple of rounds. Why on Earth she wanted to play around with Verheijen at the start of the third instead of simply knocking her out remains unknown for the time being. However given the Dutch girl's comments we can expect these two to meet again and maybe then Esti will learn from her tonight's mistakes?
