1. Emma Watson vs Adelaide Kane

Emma:

(30, 5’6, 37:25 FCBA, VIXENs)

Adelaide:
(30, 5’4, 4:16 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
“Let Lily keep the darn thing,” Emma lets out a short laugh during the pre-fight press conference. “I don’t need that hunk of metal to know my worth in the ring. I’m happy to keep challenging myself in the future, belt or no belt. Adelaide’s a name that’s been floated past me in the past, and I think she’s going to be a worthy opponent in the ring. But it won’t be a repeat performance of last year, trust me!”

Kane looking smug herself across the table, pushing back her long, black hair as she responds in kind: “Emma got exposed last year. You know it, I know it, and she knows it better than anyone. She was always a fleeting champ, both physically and mentally, and that’s why her title run left a lot to be desired. I plan on putting this ‘former champ’ back on her tush by the end of the night.”

Ladies face each other down at the podium, both looking confident as they pose with fists checked at chins, Emma with a surprising smirk on her face even after those cutting remarks from Kane. No shake of the hands as they return to corners, head backstage for final preparations, the reporters left in the room still shouting out their questions before the fighters disappear behind the curtains.

Hours later, we’re back in the arena and ready to kick off the first VIX event of 2021. Here’s hoping the year will bring less turmoil but plenty of action still. Adelaide enters first to the sound of a heart-pumping rock beat, her weighty figure toned and packing power as she bunches together black gloves then raises her arms to the cheers of the crowd. The actress is dressed in a dark violet bikini as she removes her white shawl from her shoulders and stretches in her corner.

Out comes Emma Watson next, the global starlet grinning wide as the cheers reach a crescendo - there’s no doubt in anyone’s minds about the Vixen’s popularity when it comes to her acting career and name recognition. But it’s her in-ring abilities that have left a lot to be desired, first losing the Flyweight belt to Holt at the start of 2020 before failing to recapture the title against her fellow stablemate Collins at the end of December. Who knows what 2021 will hold for Emma? The British actress is dressed in a pink sports bra and white boxing trunks as she raises both hands at the sound of her name. In the corner, Co-Head Trainer Corey Saucier’s performing the final touches, tightening her black gloves over both hands. Referee calls this match to order, and with a wave of the hand, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Early, whippin’ action as Emma imposes her two-inch height advantage, knocking jabs into Adelaide’s face as the bigger brunette comes in close to brawl. Kane the fighter with less experience here as she looks to impose her will. She swings at Watson and keeps swingin’ mightily but rarely scores until the middle mark, when Emma gets complacent and gets thrown about by big hooks to the arms. Kane smirking, rushing in with more aggression, slamming another hook to the side of Emma’s head and relishing the thought of forcing her fellow Brit backwards. Emma in trouble early, probably thought this was gonna be an easy pick-me-up fight after that disastrous loss to Lily Collins, finds herself gasping for air instead as Kane wrecks her body with left and right shots all the way to the bell. Watson’s height used against her in this case, making her lean midriff an easy target for the lesser-known but eager Kane. Bell rings and Ade’s holding her head up high, leaving Watson huffing hard on the ropes and praying for salvation.

ROUND 2:
The massacre continues as Adelaide’s floors the accelerator and goes all-in once again. Emma does her best to block and avoid, move backwards with her arms up and covering her head, but Adelaide’s aggression means she’s getting in close and chopping more hooks into the Hermione’s sides, bangin’ swipes to the side of her arms as Kane tries to trap Emma on the ropes. Watson needs to do more if she wants to go the distance, but for now, can only eat another tight hook to side of the the chin, making her sway dangerously towards the ropes. Adelaide’s not about to give up now that she’s got her foe on the ropes, powers another twin-combo into the actress’ cheek, and DOWN WATSON GOES!! What a slobberknocker in the second minute of the second round! Kane looks incredibly FULL of herself as she parades over a fallen Vixen, already celebrating on her way back to the neutral corner! Meanwhile, Watson’s slowly shaking the pain from her head as she first turns over and onto her back, slowly makes her way back up to both feet by the count of 7! A humiliating start for the Vixen, who had hoped to get back on track, but the light is certainly dim at the end of this tunnel!

ROUND 3:
Kane circling inwards to mop up, a keen smile behind her raised gloves as she powers a couple of straight hands towards Watson, but Emma not playing ball, listening to the advice of her corner as she turns and runs at the bell, her back skirting the ropes along every corner of the ring, hoping to reestablish some distance and eventually earn some payback. It works for the moment, Adelaide getting stopped by repeated jabs to her face as she tries to close in to finish her off. Watson shows off her defensive roots, leaping out of the way of Kane’s swings, then sending methodical jab flurries in that bunch up Kane’s face. Round ends and finally the Vixen’s caught a break for herself, raising a triumphant hand to the crowd as she heads back to corner.

ROUND 4:
Adelaide, however, isn’t about to give up just yet. Someone sign this woman fast, proving her worth as she makes more short work of Watson in the first minute, rushing in unexpectedly and bashing her to the body and ending with a wild swing into her arms. Watson’s still getting bullied all over, groaning as she lets out another shout of pain, getting thrown left and right, at one point sent crashing into the ropes as Kane sends a blasting hook to the guard, then later on, almost gets rocked across her chin for the final knockdown. But Emma somehow manages to survive, a lucky swerve to dodge in the final seconds as she ducks under Kane’s knockout blow, only to circle back out to the middle of the ring. Kane tries to give chase but this time, she’s running out of breath herself, her chest heaving hard as the rest of her attacks are easily avoided. Ladies spend the last seconds pawing at each other from afar, with Watson still struggling to crack her opponent’s code.

ROUND 5:
Kane running into a brick wall all of a sudden, slower hooks sent in off target or missing entirely, as Watson finally finds her groove. The Vixen looks focused as she swerves her head and upper torso in circular, left-right fashion statements to expertly avoid Kane’s swings, then slowly begins to clap back with fast jabs slammed into Kane’s face and chest, drawing grunts and groans throughout the round. Kane starts to realise that sheer power ain’t gonna cut it this time, falls back as the punches start adding up and her face disappears in a final left-right combo that stings her above the eye. Even with her dominance this round, Watson’s still in survival mode, succeeding in pushing her foe back but still heading into the second half at a big disadvantage in terms of overall points.

ROUND 6:
Adelaide’s early aggression means she’s fighting an uphill battle for the rest of this fight, however, taking a swing early at the oncoming Brit, but Watson’s more alert this time, dodging the blow and then swinging back with a hook of her own, which punishes Kane all over and across her face and body. Kane lets out a third shout as she gets half-swung into the ropes with a grunt, her arms covering her face but getting tummy tagged by follow-up furious flurries from Emma. Kane pinned on the ropes this time, groaning as her tummy and arms are worked on from a comfortable distance, and Emma finally shows off her own power as she ROCKS the fellow actress on the cheek, which sends Kane reeling DOWN TO HER KNEES!! A return KNOCKDOWN for Emma Watson! She finally lets out a shout and roar, a moment to celebrate indeed as she finds redemption and her fortunes turning. Kane turning over onto her back, arms laid bare in her frazzled hair, wondering how the hell she ended up in this position, the referee counting her out above in loud, booming tones, and Watson finally throws her hands into the air when he hits the count of 10 and WAVES the rest of this fight off!

Official Decision: Emma Watson defeats Adelaide Kane via KO6!

AFTER:

“She certainly hits like a freight train,” Watson later says to reporters with a relieved smirk. “I’ll be the first to admit that I underestimated her in the early rounds. She definitely has potential though and I’d love to do this again.”

Kane is getting looked over by the medics in the post-fight, barely conscious as she tries to sit up by the ropes but has to be supported by her fight team. She put up a valiant performance in this opening fight but ultimately came up short.
