Kyra Santoro vs Carmella

BEFORE:
WWE starlet Carmella fresh off a disappointing loss to Sasha Banks at the recent TLC PPV, but boy did she put on a hell of a show during the brief title challenge to Banks’ throne. She’s scheduled to go ten rounds tonight with Bantamweight Vixen Kyra Santoro, and from the looks of it, entirely dismissive of the swimsuit model’s chances against her in the ring:

“We’re athletes in the WWE ring. But here, tonight, I’m hitting for real. I’m gonna get in close and mess up that pretty face of hers,” Carmella says with gusto. “No more rules or constraints - I like that. The ring may stay the same, but I’m kicking Kyra’s ass for real in there.”

Kyra of course slightly younger, slightly bulkier, winces as she hears these words from the other end of the press table. The Vixen’s had disappointing losses at the end of 2020 but managed to come back strong. She’s also faced down ex-WWE champion Becky Lynch in the boxing ring before, and doesn’t see why Carmella might prove to be any more of a challenge by comparison:

“Carmella’s one hell of an athlete - no one’s disputing that. But she can’t powerbomb or throw a kick at me tonight, and so I think the odds are going to be in my favour. There’s no climbing out onto the apron this time,” Kyra smirks, referencing the wrestler’s many attempts at avoiding her opponents in the past. “I’m predicting a fast and convincing KO win.”

Ladies square up at the podium and Santoro has both the height and bulk advantage, but let’s not ignore Carmella’s toned and fit figure. Kyra offers the handshake but Carmella scoffs and turns around without blinking twice. Plenty of drama already in this opening press segment - what else could happen once they meet in the ring?

Fight night and both ladies are already set in respective corners: Kyra in an off-white bikini top and denim shorts, black gloves pounding together and ready to fly. Carmella dressed more conservative in wrestler’s garbs: golden sparkling bikini top and long black tights, complete with a pair of white gloves on either hand. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Carmella shows off her in-ring chops early, hounding Kyra with big pounders of lefts and rights sent in out of nowhere, hoping to prove her fighting skills for real. In the WWE ring, of course, kayfabe demands those punches and kicks are pulled, but not here, as the Latina sensation finally gets to unleash her full potential with each swing, attacking Kyra to the arms and throwing the Vixen backwards for the majority of this opening round. Santoro perhaps is not used to this kind of aggression, taking the damage like a woman as she locks her arms over her head and weathers on, an opportunity to take a swing or two here and there, but she doesn’t score as often as her counterpart. Ladies engage in a brief skirmish in the final seconds, leather pounding on mutual bodies and shoved rough into faces, but it’s Carmella’s show through and through when the bell finally rings at the end of three minutes.

ROUND 2:
Carmella’s trying the same trick twice, however, roaring in at the bell and taking an early swing at Kyra’s head from across a wide distance, only to get BASHED across her cheek from a sudden counter-hook from Santoro!! OUCH! Kyra biding her time well all this while, blocking most of the attacks and then swerving her upper torso back to avoid a third hook from Carmella, the platinum blonde left in a precarious situation as the momentum of her swing throws her completely off balance, and primed for a POWW of a right hook back from the Vixen! Santoro’s fans rise from their seats as their girl takes the fight to her foe, pounding shots on the hapless woman as she slashes and dashes the wannabe boxer backwards. Carmella’s forced to turn tail and retreat from the incoming attacks that are landing all over! Kyra methodical, staying calm through the fight so far, enabling her to fire looping shots into the top of Carmella’s head, or down low into that lean body, relishing the groans coming from Carmella’s lips as she gets a taste of her own medicine!

ROUND 3:
Wild fighters brawl in the center of the ring, and regardless of Carmella’s lack of experience in boxing, there’s no doubt that the fiery blonde has a mean streak about her. She knows now that Kyra’s dangerous, and might face some trouble hanging and banging with her in close quarters. What does the wrestler do but what she knows best? Kyra shocked when Carmella takes the first couple of blows to her arms, but instead of retreating like last time, the wrestler performs a swerve of her own body and ends up clinching up tight with the Vixen, using her excellent submission skills to prevent Kyra from landing more powerful shots on her frame. I mean, that’s ONE way to win a boxing match, I guess? Carmella actually comes out on top this time as she stuns Kyra with one or two inside blows to the side of her head, another chopping shoulder to the chest not caught by the referee as she pushes the Vixen into the ropes, pins her there for a while whilst rocking her body with shots. Kyra, still getting her bearings in this new situation, realises she’s fighting one hell of a dirty foe but manages to retaliate much later when she shoves the older woman off and blasts a straight hand into the middle of her arms, just to emphasise how pissed off she is. But what’s done is done, with Carmella already strutting back to her corner looking as though she’s got this fight in the bag.

ROUND 4:
Fight fire like fire - that’s what they always say, right? And it’s a rare sight indeed to see Kyra so worked up like this, swinging early on like a madwoman once Carmella gets in range. Carmella getting shocked by the Vixen’s power, thrown aside when another hook comes sailing in hard and fast, and almost takes her head off, with Kyra squaring her shoulders and letting those punches riiiip a hope in her opponent. Well, it’s what the wrestler wanted, no? Now, she has to live with the consequences as Kyra doesn’t give any quarter, ignores the grazing blows to her own body and across the chin, simply chasing after the beleaguered woman, looking for blood. Carmella’s in trouble, her arms taking a beating, body getting stuffed and pounded as Santoro wades in close and nails her again on the tummy with another uppercut. A textbook hook sails in soon after, SLAMMED into the older woman’s chin, and CARMELLA GOES SPIRALLING DOWN to the canvas, sprawled and fallen in the middle of the ring, her limbs spreadeagled and unmoving as she stares up at the stadium lights! That seems to be it, folks! It’s a KO4 in spectacular fashion for Kyra Santoro!

Official Decision: Kyra Santoro defeats Carmella via KO4!

AFTER:
“HOW’D YOU LIKE THAT, HUH??” Kyra is heard shouting in the immediate post-match, needing to be restrained by Head Trainer Steve Boyd as she lunges towards Carmella’s prone form, intending to dish out more punishment, which is rare for the Vixen.

Carmella’s one hell of a wreck as she’s turned over by the medical team, revived by some smelling salts but even then, doesn’t seem to know what the hell happened. She’s carried out via stretcher, even as Santoro watches with malice from her corner-post, and it’s only much later, when Kyra has cooled down, does the Vixen celebrate her win with a hand raised high to her fans.

“She thought she was funny,” Kyra later speaks to reporters by ring-side. “I quickly put an end to that joke. This just goes to show that not every athlete has what it takes to put on the boxing gloves and win. Hell, people dismissed me right about when I joined the FCBA as a swimsuit model back in 2016. And look at me now. I’m slowly making my way to the top, and Carmella thought wrong when she tried to get in my way. I think the woman needs to stick to wrestling.”
