Before:

Tonight’s bantamweight action sees two top contenders for the title battling it out for title positioning. Olsen coming off of what may be her best year at 10-3, and even though she lost in a title bout with Bella Thorne in 12 rounds, she is still a force to be reckoned with. In the other corner will be Priyanka Chopra, who bounced back from a 3-5 2019 with a 5-3 2020, and is hoping to get 2021 off on an even better foot by taking down Olsen. The two girls haven’t faced each other before, but from their pre-fight comments to the press, they are both looking forward to it.

“Hey, Priyanka’s doing great.” Olsen tells the press pool before the fight. “I know what it’s like to have those years where you have a losing record, and it’s hard to bounce back from them. She came back last year. I’m looking forward to meeting her in the ring tonight.”

Chopra is equally complementary of Elizabeth, “Olsen has really turned it on at Fates. Granted, with girls like Emily DiDonato and Taylor Swift running around she is overshadowed at Fates, but she’s definitely a good fighter. But tonight, I’m starting off 2021 on a good note – she’s not going to beat me. Losing to one Fates girl in Brie Larson is enough.”

Come time for the fight, Elizabeth Olsen is the first girl who makes her way to the ring, and she has chosen to wear an orange sports bra and matching trunks with blue gloves, her long hair tied up in a ponytail. Seconds after she’s made her way into the ring, Priyanka Chopra steps out from the back, and the actress has chosen to wear a black sports bra with white trunks and matching gloves, her hair also up in a ponytail for the fight. The two girls touch gloves and the ref calls for the bell, and off we go for ten rounds of bantamweight action!

Round 1:

The first round opens up with both girls circling each other, and their respective strategies are instantly clear: Chopra wants to use her longer reach to soften up Olsen while Lizzie looks for the counter, and the opening jabs show as much. Priyanka clips a right off of Elizabeth’s left ear, catching the younger actress by surprise, and the Hawkeye fighter goes for a left follow up aimed at the Fates girl’s head. Olsen blocks the blow and digs in two strikes to Chopra’s midriff, forcing the older girl backwards. The two girls resume circling to their right and Chopra feints left, drawing Olsen’s attention to the feinted blow before smacking Lizzie in her chest and following up with a shot to Olsen’s ribs. Elizabeth covers up as she protects her head and takes shots to her ribs, but doesn’t seem too concerned and sticks Priyanka on the few opportunities that she can. The first round comes to an end and Chopra takes the opening frame on points between these two elite bantamweights.

Round 2:

Chopra chases after Olsen from the start of the round, looking to get well ahead of the elite Fates fighter in the second round. Lizzie’s ready for it and connects with a swift cross, but Priyanka is able to trade back with two straights against the smaller actress. Lizzie winces and moves in to closer range, and starts trading body blows with Priyanka. Olsen getting the better of the trades early on as she knocks the older girl around the ring, but Chopra plants her feet, blocks a right from Olsen and drives a right into the actress’ chin, clearly shaking Olsen up and causing her to back off. Priyanka follows Olsen, jabbing as she leverages her extra reach over the Avenger, and forces Lizzie to keep her guard up and look for brief opportunities for counters. The bell rings, and Chopra takes another round off of Olsen.

Round 3:

The Fates corner is animated between rounds as Ana Beatriz Barros and Emily DiDonato gesture frantically, telling Lizzie to get her head in the game. Meanwhile, Chopra is just told to keep on doing what she’s doing, and the two girls are quick to get out of their respective corners to start the third. Priyanka throws out another jab, but this time Elizabeth dodges the blow and crashes in a right hook to the older actress’ jaw, knocking the actress to her left. Chopra covers her head up as she blocks a right from Olsen just in time. Lizzie shifts her focus to Priyanka’s body, nailing two solid shots into the Indian actress’ body. Chopra makes a short jab back to Olsen, glancing off of the American’s guard before the two girls wrap each other up. Priyanka is able to get a couple of small blows to Lizzie’s body in, but nothing solid as the referee steps in to separate the two actresses. The two girls start circling each other, jabbing at the other actress until Lizzie feints left and then strikes with a right, getting a left follow up but being punished with a right coming back from Priyanka. The two girls separate from each other and the bell rings as they are sent back to their corners. Olsen finally gets on the board in the third round of this bout.

Round 4:

Lizzie looking to continue with her momentum from the third round and comes out with a purpose, throwing a flurry of blows into Priyanka’s guard as the older actress covers up. Olsen immediately shifts her focus to Chopra’s torso and Chopra responds instantly, hammering a right into Olsen’s nose in response to a blow from the Avenger. Lizzie dropping back as Priyanka now gets her jab working, keeping the brunette in range for Chopra, but not for Olsen. Priyanka’s blows thud off of Elizabeth’s gloves until Elizabeth plants her feet and fires back, this time with a right into Priyanka’s gut that stops her. Olsen follows up with a short left to Chopra’s nose as payback for the shot she took earlier in the round, and now it’s Priyanka who is retreating around the ring. The bell rings and the two girls go back to their respective corners after a close round in what has turned into a close fight.

Round 5:

Chopra gets out of her corner quickly as she looks to stem Olsen’s onslaught. Lizzie looks to close the gap between the two girls and stick Priyanka with a right, but the veteran fighter sees what Olsen wants to do and drives a right into her chest, stopping the Avenger from striking before Chopra follows up with a quick jab to Olsen’s face. Elizabeth backs off, putting some distance between herself and Priyanka, and she starts circling to her right. Chopra follows suit and goes back to her jabs as Lizzie looks for the counter. Chopra drills Olsen’s guard and Lizzie counterpunches with a right to Priyanka’s ribs, drawing a slight groan out of the older girl. Chopra wraps her arms around Olsen and the two girls have to be separated. After the break, Chopra lands two quick rights before Olsen smokes Chopra’s jaw with a right hook that puts Chopra into pain. Olsen advances – and the bell rings just as she’s winding up for an uppercut. Lizzie goes back to her corner wishing the round lasted a few more seconds, but given how Priyanka’s a bit shaken up from that last hook, she’s talking excitedly in her corner.

Round 6:

Olsen starts off the sixth by going right after Chopra, knowing that the older actress is vulnerable, and feints with her right before driving a left into Priyanka’s torso. Chopra winces and works a quick right into Olsen’s chest, but she leaves herself open to a straight right into her chin and nearly goes down! Chopra stumbles backwards and Olsen pounces, hammering away at the Hawkeye fighter’s guard. Priyanka keeps her gloves up and Olsen pounds leather into her solar plexus, which opens up the Indian actress’ guard just enough for the American to find two straight shots to her chin and down goes Chopra! Priyanka falls to her knees as Olsen quickly backs off and the ref starts his count. At the count of four, Chopra reaches out and grabs the ropes, and she pulls herself up at the count of eight. The ref checks in on her, and satisfied with her ability to continue the fight, waves Elizabeth back in. Priyanka throws out two jabs, but Elizabeth blocks the strikes and jabs the Indian girl in her jaw again, knocking her back into the ropes and the Avenger starts hammering away! Chopra’s guard falters and Olsen just starts connecting with blow after blow after blow and the referee has no choice! He steps in and stops the match – your winner by TKO6, Elizabeth Olsen!

After:

Priyanka sags down into the ropes as Elizabeth backs off, raising her arms briefly before going over to the Hawkeye staff to ask about Chopra. Once Priyanka is seated and the medics leave her, Elizabeth goes over to check in, and the two girls briefly embrace before Olsen leaves the ring, raising her hands up high and waving to the crowd as she makes her way to the back.

“There isn’t a lot of new things for me to say,” Olsen tells the press, “Priyanka was doing great, I just found a way to beat her, and I wish her the best in her future fights. As for me, on to the next one.” And with that, Olsen leaves the press behind, hoping her win here tonight puts her back in the running for the bantamweight title and finally obtaining that title which has evaded her for over 60 fights in the FCBA.

Chopra speaks to the press shortly thereafter, “Obviously it’s not great to start off the year. I had Olsen early on. She just beat me in the end. But I’ll be back and I will get on the right track for 2021.”
