BEFORE

Jennifer Carpenter takes the podium “Three weeks ago, I got a call from my agent who said he had a cougar fight for me if I wanted it. When I asked who, he said Charlize Theron. I was floored. I jumped at it. I thought it was a honor for the Greatest Of All Time to want to fight me. I accepted. A day or two later it dawned on me. She wasn’t fighting me because I was a great fighter, she wanted an easy win. I was at that Carey fight. I know what happened. She got her foot stomped on that left her on one leg. She was virtually helpless and Carey teed off on her. I know she was off that foot for a week and now she comes calling. She doesn’t respect whatever talent I have. She’s looking at me as Tess Valmore would say as a “go to” for an easy win. That’s what she wants, an easy win. I’m under no illusions. There is no way that I am in Theron’s class, but the money is good so I am here”

Charlize for once takes the mic “You sound like you are ready beaten That’s not going to help you in the ring. I’m going to be honest. I admit what she says is true. In my last fight after the injury to my foot, we didn’t know how long it would it would be before I could fight and not get hammered back into the Stone Age. So we looked around for fighters who would give me rounds, but didn’t have much of a chance beating me; That said, sometimes you can get a shock. We came across Jennifer. She’s younger, the same size and has a winning record. Yes, I should easily beat her So you could correctly say I am looking for an easy win, but I have to test my foot in a real fight before I go into a busy schedule the rest of the year. I don’t know Jennifer. I don’t recall seeing her fight, but I do know that she won her last four

THE FIGHT

Carpenter enters wearing a pale blue bikini with black boots. Theron comes in wearing her usual creme colored bikini, with creme boots. Her hair, as usual, is in corn rows

Round 1. Theron is a little slow coming out of her corner and Carpenter surprises her by barreling out of her corner and rams her shoulder into Theron midsection driving her into the ropes. Carpenter, then slashes a right across Theron’s face. She follow with a left and then another right. Charlize is buzzed. A Carpenter right sails over Charlize’s head giving her relief. Theron’s lands a straight right to Carpenter’s chin and legs it into the middle of the ring. Carpenter is moving in, landing a jab and back out before Theron can retaliate. Jennifer again darts in, but this time Charlize meets her with a right cross that sends Carpenter back a few steps. Carpenter is now circling, looking to take the fight to Charlize. Again, the moves in. She fakes a left cross and when Theron reacts to defend her face, Carpenter drills a pair of uppercuts to Theron’s bra. Charlize’s face shows the shock. Before she can punch back, Carpenter drills two more into Charlize breasts. She follows with a hook to the blondes stomach and then an uppercut to the chin as she beats Theron back to the ropes. Charlize has her guard up and manages to block most of Carpenter punches..but at the bell.she knows Jennifer has taken the round. Back in Theron’s corner, Lawrence tells her she is still favoring her right foot. She has to use it more

Round 2 Carpenter is out of her corner quickly. She lands right jab to Theron’s face. Before she can land another one, a Theron jab catches her face, not just one, but three is rapid succession. Carpenter is intent on taking the fight to Charlize. She pushes out another jab which Charlize blocks. They are now toe to toe. Charlize lands a right hook to Carpenter’s chin and she comes back in her own hook. They are in a phone booth punching away. Charlize is getting the best of it. She’s out-punching Carpenter almost two to one. Jennifer is forced to break in off. Charlize is slow to follow as Carpenter slowly circles watching for an opening Jennifer moves in, landing a left cross, but eats a right-left and backs out. That’s the way this round goes. Carpenter Circling and moving suddenly in. Theron like a statue, not moving much, but rejecting Carpenters advances. The judges like Carpenters attacks, but Theron defense wins the round as she out-punched her rival. Carpenter’s corner is upbeat, She is even after two, moving better, and punching with the regal blonde

Round 3 The encouraged brunette once again is out on the offense as her blonde opponent is back holding her position in the center of the ring. She moves in and as a Theron jab misses, she lands a quick right-left-right to Charlize’s face. As Theron moves to clinch. Carpenter goes to work on her opponents body pounding a pair of hooks the the body and then another hook to the chin. Theron is punched back towards the ropes, but not badly hurt. As Carpenter continues punching away, Theron finally stops her with an overhand right that knocks her back. Carpenter recovers quickly and charges the blonde forcing her back to the ropes. She’s almost on top of Charlize as she punches away at the face and the body. Charlize is swaying on the ropes, not terribly hurt, but try to avoid punches. Theron gets her hands on Carpenter’s shoulders and pushes her back to get off the strands Once again, Theron is slow to pursue and once again Carpenter takes advantage and she closes in her opponent and starts punching away. This time she is getting the advantage out-punching her rival as the bell rings. Carpenter corner looks happy. In Theron’s corner, Lawrence is in her face as she usually is when she is getting disgusted with her fighter’s performance. Lawrence is telling Charlize she is still moving to slow and still favoring her right foot. She’s got to change

Round 4 At the bell, Theron surprises Carpenter by moving out quickly, but Jennifer goes after her opponent. Charlize is waiting and drills a right-left Carpenter’ face. A Carpenter right sails past Theron’s chin. Theron takes advantage of Jennifer’s wide open body and slams a left-right into Carpenter’s chest. Carpenter is hurt, but she fights back powering her own punches into Charlize’s breasts. They are in a bra punching contest and Theron is winning. Carpenter is forced to back out. She resets. She’s sure she can go toe to toe with the Goddess. Once again it doesn’t work out. Theron is out punching her. In desperation she goes into a shell and rotates driving a right into the blondes stomach bringing a gasp from the blonde. Theron stumbles back to the ropes. Carpenter is on her. A right hook picks up her chin and a brutal right cross turns the Goddess’s around facing the crowd The brunette starts punching away at Theron’s back as the round ends. Charlize walks back to her corner. Carpenter is elated. She doesn’t notice the apparently unhurt Theron and Yells “I beating the great bytch, the bytch is mine” She said it too loud. In Theron’s corner once again Lawrence is in her face “Did you hear that. That’s what the thinks of you. You are disgusting, letting her get to this point. There is nothing wrong with your f—king right foot. Stop being a baby and get it done.” Theron’s eyes have gone cold, her eyes narrow with that death stare only a great actress can accomplish

Round 5 Carpenter is out of her corner full of confidence. She going to pull a huge upset. She will get more fights. She totally unaware that she is 20 seconds from doom. She pushes out a right jab which Theron slaps way. The blonde shifts all her weight to that right foot, and turning her body delivers a crushing hook to Carpenter’s chin. The punch being heard ringside. Carpenter drops like she’s been shot, sprawled out on her back, out like a light. The referee doesn’t bother to count. Charlize walks back to her corner where a smiling Lawrence greets her. “I told you, you were a big baby. There is nothing wrong with your right foot and you just proved it” Theron smiles and says “I don’t what’s worse being punched around by my opponent or having to listen to you in my corner, but you were right. I guess I owe you” Lawrence replies “It’s my job to be always right”

AFTER

Jennifer and Charlize are sitting a large table not two feet from each other.

Jennifer: “Well, I can say I didn’t stink it up. I gave Charlize a little trouble. I knew I was in there to test her right foot. I got to tell you when she pivoted off that right foot and hit me. It was over. I can testify there is nothing wrong that foot anymore. I got to fight the greatest and got a good pay day. I lost, but I am glad I took this bout.”

Charlize: “Jennifer, like I said before the fight you seemed ready to lose. You are selling yourself short. You move well and you have quick hands. After you won your last four, I thought you would be full of confidence, but for some reason you weren’t just because it was me. I have lost to poorer fighters than you. I think if you work on your confidence, you will do well. It was my honor to fight you”
