Bonnie Sveen vs Mollie King
(ACB Independent vs Double A Boxing)
(6-2, 6 KO vs 20-14, 17 KO)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: Two exciting blondes lock horns in the next flyweight contest on the card, ACB champion Bonnie Sveen has heard all the buzz and then some about the Perkins sisters coming to take her down sooner than later so she's made the trip to Europe to remind everyone she's still the top ranked Australian performer in the division. And it just so happens Mollie King brutalized Kylie & Dannii Minogue the last couple of times she entered the ring so she's well on board to continue crushing the Aussie opposition: "I'm shocked Bonnie still makes the flyweight grade? Or maybe they count 'em differently Down Under? It's not super flyweight, ya know? Whatever! She's fat and slow and I don't care she won the ACB title. Dannii Minogue is a fookin' ACB legend and I smashed eight weeks ago! So much for that ACB power!" (giggles)

Bonnie Sveen wears a pink crop top, matching hotpants & golden gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. Mollie King wears a white bikini set & red gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds at 116 lbs catchweight as Bonnie actually doesn't make the weight after all. Mollie accepts the fight anyway.

Round 1:
Bonnie carries the weight advantage but Mollie wants to be considered an elite fighter these days so she takes the contest right up to the more accomplished woman; she tackles Sveen to the body and catches her with a stray head-butt just to set the early tone before the Aussie tourist manages to find her rhythm. Bonnie gets caught out by slugging experience at first but then responds over the top and knocks Mollie back thru supreme jabbing efforts. Mollie stays on the front (left) leg to keep plugging mitts into the fellow blonde's body but Sveen carries a swift left/right combo upstairs to force the British singer backwards. Mollie's mid-range efforts are well neutralized thereafter so the action slows right down which suits the Aussie blonde better.

Rounds 2 & 3:
Similar script in the next two rounds; Mollie comes in hot but fails to break Bonnie's resilience and eats a steady counter-punching response thereafter. If Mollie wanted to send the ACB champion reeling through her aggression, she needs to find a back-up plan because Sveen stays true to her imposing figure and flies with dangerous leather over the top... BBU TV's Denise van Outen thinks King made a mistake accepting the catchweight bout after all but Bonnie's been inactive last year so she has to be wondering about her own performance as Mollie manages to clinch her into safety to close out both rounds. Bonnie owns the supreme strenght and mocks the singer's efforts to stall the action but it's a crippling hook late in the third that does the most damage... Mollie gets spiked on the liver area and slumps on the turnbuckle as Sveen duly cleans out the exposed midsection.

Round 4:
Mollie ignites more speed into her slugging effort but Bonnie blocks her off in close range and begins to stack up more body shots thereafter which sends the Surrey blonde reeling upon impact. Bonnie tears it up on the prowl and prefers quality over quantity while Mollie bangs her upstairs in response alright but just can't punish the Aussie tourist at all. Sveen glues her mitts into the singer's toned midriff and even Mollie's significant speed advantage leaves her second best in classic punching exchange. She gets tagged on the chin a couple of times and wobbles to her heels while Bonnie blows her in the navel and sends backing off amid quiet spasms. No wonder the Tasmania blonde sports a huge grin come the bell.

Round 5:
Both women keep blasting each other from behind the guard but the back & forth exchange does nothing to break the deadlock and Mollie feels like she has to show more outright performance in order to punish the heavier opponent. Bonnie hasn't been rushed much thus far but a quick gut-checking drive allows King to finally muscle her way into a dominant position just past the one-minute mark. She clips Sveen's rack and carries an uppercut series into her chin while the Aussie response skips over her head instead... Bonnie tries to step up with the familiar body assault but Mollie drags her by the arm and spins onto the ropes where she blasts a left hook on the nose before adding a right cross on the temple..  Bonnie shrieks out in pain but still gets caught by a jabbing haze thereafter and the English singer runs away with a dominant slugging drive that leaves the Tasmanian visibly upset at the bell.

Round 6:
Bonnie tries to hassle back to make up for the shaky previous round but Mollie's speed keeps making the difference as the singer picks the actress off repeatedly in the opening minute. The shear volume of King's charge stuffs Sveen on her heels and she fails to carry that superior power supply while getting outworked in a heads up exchange. Huh! She shoots wide over the singer's head and wobbles into a brutal hook on the jaw before Mollie cranks up the uppercut volume to send the Tasmanian into a reeling check-up. Bonnie is forced into up the slugging ante but this is where the Surrey blonde feels at best and she takes a proper beating signalled by a nasty gash under the left eye as Mollie drives her the head-hunting blast to shut the ACB champion along the ropes.

Round 7:
Bonnie feels like she's lost the grip on this bout and she pays a heavy price for not punishing the Surrey woman enough; Mollie dominates another back & forth prowl in the center of the ring and outboxes the Tasmanian from afar before driving a big double into Sveen's rack. Ugh! Bonnie barks in anger but gets promptly shut down with more jabbing venom and Mollie simply looks in better physical condition at this stage while the Aussie power supply keeps misfiring in response. This allows Mollie to cash in with easy over the top blast against the statesque Sveen who sinks deeper on her knees and can't stop King from pounding her back to the turnbuckle late in the going.

Round 8:
Bonnie tries to clinch the fast-moving opponent but Mollie blasts more harpoon menace into the exposed midsection so the Aussie fuel tank bursts into flames half-way through the eight and leaves the tourist unable to mount any response... meanwhile Mollie keeps plugging her mitts in the hole until she pierces Sveen's solar plexus with enough power the ACB champion simply can't take it anymore... Bonnie cries out in pain and stumbles off the intended clinch before King SMOKES her with a vicious hook on the right ear... DOWN GOES THE TASMANIAN SHE-DEVIL!!! Bonnie crumbles on her knees and bends her head against the canvas... she can only rise to all fours and misses the last-ditch effort to beat the count... another wobble and the ref has to grab her around the waist or else she'd be down on the canvas again! All over!!! KO8 Mollie King!!!

AFTER: The Surrey native continues to wreck havoc against the ACB roster but Mollie had to really dig deep to claim Bonnie's scalp tonight! The ACB champion came in lacking genuine fight fitness but still showed impressive resilience and made one of the most dangerous BBU floaters earn her money indeed. Even the catchweight handicap doesn't explain everything. Bonnie looked sharp enough before she run out of gas in the latter stages of the fight. All credit to Mollie for pouncing on the golden opportunity and who knows, maybe she'll feature in the flyweight title picture again - five years after she battled Jenna Coleman for the 110 lbs straps.

Meanwhile Bonnie tells BBU TV's Denise van Outen she plans to stay in the UK for some time since the Herbert twins are ready to resume their Tour of Britiain next week so she wants to find out personally how far these two have gone lately: "I'm a big fan! But only because I don't plan to move to bantamweight just yet!" (giggles).

Official Result: Mollie King def. Bonnie Sveen KO8.
