Lisa was not in any way amused by the way Renee played with Helen Flanagan before knocking her out in Manchester, and has vowed to teach her some manners, saying that the youngster needs to respect other boxers.

Round 2

Again Renee is enthusiastic from the bell, and again Lisa takes some good shots, but fights back with good work to Renee’s body, but this time Renee’s ready, and she doesn’t allow Lisa to manhandles her, fights back, and pops punches into Lisa’s face from distance, Lisa not too bothered, an d she again comes in close to wrap Renee up in knots, but this time the Australian is too sharp for her, and she thuds some cruel punches into Lisa’s body in close, and those punches have Lisa grunting, clinching and hanging on to the younger girl, who is a quick learner, and doesn’t let Lisa push her around, hits her body again, then unloads a lovely right uppercut from very close range, not a full swing of her arm, but the veteran Brit is clearly hurt, staggers and crouches, but when Renee comes close to hit her again, Lisa’s fighting back bravely, lands a good jab and cross combo to the younger girl’s face, but then she gets hurt again when Renee crushes her own left hooks to her cheek, and she’s looking a little wobbly as the round ends, Renee strutting, sneering, “Gotcha!”

Round 3

Typically, after looking half beaten at the end of round 2, Lisa starts round 3 well, and again she’s giving Renee some decent punches, Renee seeming to be biding her time, defending for the first time in the fight, Lisa coming at her, fighting cannily as she jabs and moves well, but Renee wants to trade punches, wants to find out which of them has the harder punch, and she gets her wish when Lisa gets herself trapped in a neutral corner, both girls now throwing what they’ve got, Lisa doing a good job with her left jab, but Renee looks to be faster and stronger than the older girl, hurts her with a lovely left and right hook combination, and now she’s unloading some heavy punishment to Lisa’s face, and she floors Lisa with a left hook to her jaw, sending the Brit sprawling across the canvas, but she gets back up as the count reaches 7, but she’s taking a real beating, trapped in that corner, Renee hammering punches into her body, and now switching to punch Lisa in the face, hard, straight punches this time, and Lisa goes down again, but still gets up again at a count of 8, and she looks finished as she takes more punishment, Renee really hurting her with an assault on her body, but Lisa somehow survives the round.

Round 4

Clearly Renee senses victory, struts around then moves towards Lisa, stands in front of her, and gives her a savage beating, punches raining in on Lisa from left and right, the battered former champion proving that she’s still brave, but sadly for her, she’s not superhuman, and, when she has Lisa backed up to the ropes, totally exposed, Renee knocks her completely out with a right uppercut



Result: Renee Herbert knocked out Lisa Maffia in round 4

Lisa had got herself into good condition for this fight – but Renee just demolished her, took her on, overpowered her, and finished her off almost with ease.

Lisa has been brought back to life, her face a little bruised and swollen around her cheeks and jaw, and Renee is standing in front of her, clearly intent on humiliating Lisa as she promised, the Brit swift to admit, “You’re too good for me, girl! You’re entitled to have your fun!”
