Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
"Tonight's just a warm up fight for me before I kick Emma's ass at the next Doll Ball,” Avril says from her seat in a packed press room earlier on.

This might be a throwaway fight for Lavigne, but this fight tonight has still managed to fill the press room to the brim, as to be expected when someone with Aurora’s star power makes their FCBA boxing debut . For now, the veteran Doll continues: “I'm not sure why Aurora wanted to fight me...she's either kinda dumb or like, a masochist…” she snorts. “She should have challenged Hayley or Lauren or something...but I guess she wanted the publicity of taking on someone as good as me. Whatever. I'll show her who's da boss. This is going to be VERY short!” Avril laughs, descending into more sniggers and giggles.

At the other end of the table sits the petite-looking Norwegian singer best known for her single-named persona and alternative style of music. Aurora certainly looks unique for someone from her position and station in life, with a bowl-like crown of silvered hair interspaced with straight bangs falling down the sides of her face. The newcomer has chosen a formidable opponent tonight, but one has to give her credit for even showing up:

"Well...I'm...I'm pretty nervous about tonight. You can probably hear it in my voice. It's my first time boxing "for real" you know... but I've been training a lot this past year. I have an amazing coach and I think I'm ready. Well, I hope I am! Why did I choose Avril? Because... imagine if I win!?” Aurora spurts out a smile. “I like being optimistic. I'm not too afraid of fighting her. There are scarier girls in this league, it's not like I'm fighting Megan Fox or anything you know?....I've watched new girls like Isabella and Brec beating Avril...that was SO amazing! I think I have a decent chance, but maybe I'm terribly wrong. I guess we'll find out soon.” the Norwegian songstress ends with a nervous laugh.

The youth and athletic advantage is with Aurora tonight but her opponent makes up for it in so many other ways: Avril coming into this fight with a gazillion more fights under her belt compared to her counterpart, not to mention her particular style of fighting that’s sure to overwhelm and exploit a newcomer to the ring.

Aurora enters the arena first, looking stunning (in her own weird little way) in a yellow sports bra and white boxing trunks, her hair tied in a neat, royal looking bun, as she’s raising a pair of white gloves to the crowd. Avril in her usual black/pink Dollhouse attire, a confident smirk on her face, clearly isn’t taking this fight as seriously as she would some others in her past and future.

Referee calls them both to the center of the ring and if it’s any consolation, Aurora is looking less jittery now after having made it this far to the actual fight, though that doesn’t stop Lavigne from turning her nose up at the newbie and refusing to bump gloves when instructed to. It’s a crystal clear sign of disrespect when Avril Lavigne herself thinks there’s no need to try and insult you further.

We’re all set for ten rounds of Flyweight action as ladies raise their hands in their respective corners. HERE WE GO with the bell!

ROUND 1:
Avril wants to show Aurora and the fans who's boss here, a flood of aggression let loose early as she flies in and goes to work: steady jabs and flurries pound away on Aurora’s arms and body in the opening seconds of the round, the veteran singer AND fighter pushing the rookie about and exploiting her greenness, trying to score as many points as possible to dominate. Aurora-fans groaning and moaning on her behalf early - kinda suicidal indeed to think she can survive this encounter with the veteran fighter, but the Norwegian girl seems as brave as she is foolish, actually weathering Avril’s early attacks with her arms raised high and covering her eccentric face. Down the line, Avril gets shocked in turn, having paid little attention to her own defences before, now surprised when her opponent actually has the audacity to fight back. The boney, younger girl clearly HAS been doing some excellent fight training before her professional debut tonight, actually stunning the Doll with a punt of a hand to her nostrils to end the round in her small favour. Good lord are her fans left cheering on the edge of their seats by the time the first round ends - if this keeps up, Aurora’s words and wishes might actually come true!

ROUND 2:
You can imagine, however, how Avril must be feeling at this point: the Doll isn’t happy at losing the opening salvo, much less to a rookie. She answers her aggression with even more aggression now, shoving fire and fuel onto fire and fuel as she CHARGES at Aurora again, thinking (or hoping to god) that the first round was simply a case of beginner’s luck. Aurora attempts to do the same as the last round: lock her guard in place and weather the attack in the first half, but soon finds her body getting targeted by Avril’s looping lefts and rights, the Doll smartly taking pot-shots at her open tummy as she racks up the points in the first minute. This time, Aurora realises her mistake: she can’t possibly hold the tide that is Avril Lavigne back forever, and pays for it with the wind knocked out of her lungs and repeated lunges at her body from the Dollhouse Queen, and her attempts to return fire later see little result either, with Avril easily seeing her slow hooks coming and swerving to avoid. Avril’s aggression pays off this time, throwing the rest of this fight wide open.

ROUND 3:
Back to getting beaten back though - Avril having rushed in with an early flurry sent to Aurora’s head and body, but gets WHAMMED to the side of her face when the Norwegian girl stood her ground instead, and torqued a right hook clean across her cheek. OUCH. Avril probably didn’t see that one coming, rattled on the spot with a loud shriek. It won’t send her down anytime soon, but the Doll’s more shaken by the fact her opponent’s showing this much promise and defiance in her face, and against someone of her stature. Avril with little choice but to turn tail and run this time, blocking more fast flurries flying in as Aurora tries to seize the advantage. Avril’s pride however dictates more foolishness late in the round, the Doll standing her ground and going swing-for-swing with the youngster and the fight descends into a wild melee as girls exchange crunching shots to the body and face. The rookie’s tenacity actually pays off by the end, however, with Aurora sending Avril packing with a final hook to the face that wobbles the older blonde and clearly wins her the round! Impressive stuff from the newbie!

ROUND 4:
Perhaps it’s time for the Canadian singer to fight back a little smarter, no? First three rounds were filled with her usual stubborn aggression, and the results weren’t in her favour. Aurora’s fans coming around to the idea of their girl actually winning tonight, as the Norwegian presses in, eyes focused on the big prize if she manages to come out on top, her arms up and fists slamming into Avril’s guard in the first minute. Lavigne however keeps her cool, feet moving constantly in a sudden change in strategy that begins to bear fruit: Avril rocking in counterattacks, first avoiding the newbie’s haphazard punches before shoving her own fist into the blonde’s face or chest, with Aurora left grunting and in a sudden retreat by the end of the second minute. Avril still cautiously advancing on her foe, suddenly realises she’s got the experience and premature disposition to telegraph her punches here, though Aurora’s sudden switch from fight to flight means the Doll has trouble landing her follow-up shots. The Norwegian girl seems content to stay out of harm’s way until the bell rings this round, with Avril bellowing to the referee by the time the bell rings: "Tell her to stop running from me!"

ROUND 5:
Never a good sign when Avril looks this frustrated - the Doll has a tendency to lose her cool and focus each time her temper flares. Aurora, however, hasn’t been in the ring long enough to know what to do in such a situation. Rather, the newcomer falls back on her base instincts to play it safe, run from the oncoming freight train. Avril roars inwards at the bell, filling the space rapidly between - if her opponent ain’t gonna cover ground, Avril’s happy to take it from her, sending early jab-jab-cross combos into Aurora’s arms, further pushing her backwards. Aurora however with little response this time, either her arms growing tired or the inexperienced girl just wilting in the face of overwhelming aggression. Lavigne fires another deluge of punches and some begin to land in earnest, tagging Aurora on the cheek or lurching her body forward with another stiff hook to the body, rinse and repeat. A BLAST to the chin sends Aurora staggering back at the close of the second, and that seems to have done the trick! Aurora’s wincing in pain, her arms flailing about without rhyme or reason as Lavigne slams another hook in and across her jawline - AND DOWN AURORA GOES! Rookie fighter getting absolutely smacked down like a fly by the veteran fighter, with Aurora staying motionless and faced down throughout the entire 10-count! The referee calls for the bell and it’s officially over!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Aurora via KO5!

AFTER:
“Nice try, weirdo!” A panting Avril half-laughing, half-taunting her fellow singer from across the ring as she struts back to her corner with a smug expression on her face.

A nice try indeed from Aurora, who showed early promise in there, but ultimately had reality smack her hard in the face to send her crashing down. Perhaps the singer would deem it wise to select an opponent who’s a bit lower down the food chain in the future? Maybe a certain Ariana Grande of sorts? The Norwegian girl still looks stunned as she’s helped/carried back to her corner by her disappointed fight team, who’d bet big on her debut tonight but ended up flopping hard.

Again, it says a lot if Avril chooses to completely ignore you in her post-fight victory celebration… Countless other girls have suffered the wrath of the Doll’s frustrations and ambitions in the aftermath, but not tonight, with Avril strutting about the ring as though she owns it, cockily posing for pictures on all sides, as she soaks in the cheers of her fans in attendance.

Later, she speaks to reporters outside the ring. “I fucked her up. Didn’t I? She is fast as hell, and very agile, but she hits like a toddler." Avril giggles. "She smacked me a few times but I just shrugged it off, ya know? Which is exactly what I’m going to do against Roberts when I get in the ring with her. Hope you’re ready Ems, I’m gonna be kicking your ass REAL SOON b*tch!” Avril laughs directly into the cameras before exiting the ring to the loud cheers from her fans who definitely got their money’s worth tonight!

Her upcoming showdown with Roberts is up next for her and it will be interesting to see if the Doll can back up her words this time and take back her throne from the Dollhouse’s Ice Queen herself next month on the Doll Ball!

As for Aurora, the young singer did not disappoint on her FCBA debut tonight, hurting Lavigne several times in there but ultimately lacked enough fire power or experience to take the heavier blonde down. We hope to see more of her in the ring soon, as we suspect she has plenty of athleticism and boxing IQ to go far in this division, not to mention her capability of bringing a lot of new young fans to the FCBA. Someone sign this lady up!
