Elizabeth Olsen versus Nina Dobrev

Elizabeth Olsen: 32 years old, 5’5”, 37-26 since 2012, Fates Boxing

Nina Dobrev: 32 years old, 5’6 ½”, 50-28-1 since 2010, Lioness Club of America

Before:

In a rematch from 2019, Elizabeth Olsen and Nina Dobrev meet in a match between two bantamweights vying to put themselves in the title picture. Both actresses have recently turned 32 years old, and are both still doing well. Tonight will be Dobrev’s 80th fight, getting closer to that 100 fight threshold for the Hall of Fame, and she’s on track to get those 60 wins before her hundredth fight. Meanwhile, Olsen is coming off of a stellar 10-3 year in 2020, and is riding a win streak of five straight after dropping to Bella Thorne. Both actresses know the success of the other girl, and are excited for a rematch.

“A lot has happened since we last fought.” Olsen begins, “I’m looking forward to getting in the ring with her again. If I had to bet, she’s a future Hall of Famer, and it’s an honor to fight girls like her. But I have to say, I’m looking to even the score tonight.”

Dobrev cracks a smile, before responding in kind, “Lizzie is the type of girl who has shown tremendous resilience on her way to the top. Not having a stable for two years, joining Fates, going 4-7 in conventional matches in 2019 before going 10-3 in 2020. She has her own TV show that is great. Liz is on fire, and I’m excited for our fight tonight, but I have my own goals, and am going to be victorious.”

The two girls bump fists before leaving the press conference, the media taking photos of the two girls exchanging in their cordial exchange.

Dobrev is the first girl out into the arena, and the strides to the ring before removing her robe to reveal a green sports bra with black trunks and green gloves. Nina is all business as the waits for her foe, and Olsen steps out moments later. Lizzie emerges with a scarlet robe, which she sheds as soon as she enters the ring to reveal a white sports bra with matching trunks and red gloves. The two girls bump gloves, clearly a lot of respect between the two girls, and the bell rings, signaling the start of the fight.

Round 1:

Both girls come out of their corners slugging as the fight starts the same way their prior match started. Nina may have the height advantage, but Elizabeth keeps the distance between the two girls close and Lizzie works Nina’s ribs and gets hers worked back in return. Dobrev is the first to break the pattern and shifts her focus right into Olsen’s face, pounding her nose with a right. Olsen staggers backwards and Dobrev charges ahead, only for Olsen to parry her right and respond with a left hook to Dobrev’s jaw before connecting with a short uppercut to her chin, shifting the momentum into the Avenger’s favor. Dobrev covers up her head and Olsen hammers body as she drives the Lioness girl into the ropes before she locks in a clinch. The bell rings and the round comes to an end, with Olsen winning the opening frame on points, wide.

Round 2:

The second round continues with the hard hitting action, and both Dobrev and Olsen hitting body blows whenever they can. Nina slowly works Liz backwards, and while Olsen keeps her guard up and blows focused to Dobrev’s body, the bigger girl bullies her into the ropes with a quick right pump through her guard. Olsen stumbles backwards but gets her guard back up to block two strikes from Dobrev before shooting out a fast left of her own that gets Nina below her right eye. Dobrev feints right and goes left, but Olsen reads it and escapes from the corner. Nina turns around and quickly tags Olsen in her mouth, regaining control of the round and the taller girl bullies Olsen around the ring, putting her reach advantage to good use as Nina just hammers away at Lizzie’s guard until the round ends. Nina evens the fight up on points after the second round.

Round 3:

Nina charges out of her corner while Olsen timidly steps out of hers, and the Lioness girl goes straight for the smaller Fates actress. Dobrev lashes out with a right that whizzes past Olsen’s ear and allows the Fates girl to drive a short right into her nose. Nina drops back and Lizzie steps forward, shooting out a left that hits more air than anything else, and Olsen quickly drives a left into Dobrev’s ribs, but by then Nina’s onto her counter, sticking Olsen in her mouth to start and then jamming two straight lefts into Lizzie’s body. Elizabeth winces and Nina hammers her foe’s body as Olsen covers her head, the smaller girl desperately covering her head as she looks for any opportunity to clinch, which she eventually does, but her left ribs are visibly bruised by the time the break happens. Nina goes after Elizabeth again, but Olsen successfully manages to keep her distance and by the time the bell rings, she’s still standing, though the round goes to Dobrev.

Round 4:

Olsen gets a talking to in her corner from coach Ana Beatriz Barros before the fourth, and whatever she said has an impact on the Avenger as Olsen starts the round with an unusual strategy for her – hit and run. Lizzie shifts in and out of Nina’s range, making Nina go for short, defensive blows as she works to ward off Elizabeth. Olsen shifts out of the way of Dobrev’s strikes and connects with a clean right to the actress’ jaw. Lizzie follows up with a left to Nina’s torso as the Bulgarian protects her head, and Olsen takes the opportunity to shift back to her more standard hard-hitting stationary style as the Fates girl unloads big blows into her Lioness opponent. Dobrev’s back touches the ropes which flips the switch inside her head, and she fires back, getting Elizabeth in her head. Dobrev tags Olsen twice more in her ribs before the bell rings. Olsen evens the fight back up on points as the fight nears its halfway point.

Round 5:

Now it’s Nina who gets a stern discussion from Claudia Schiffer, and the Bulgarian matches the American’s intensity from the prior round. Elizabeth bobs to her right and connects with a straight left to Nina’s mouth, knocking the bigger girl backwards. Olsen steps forward – and gets stopped in her tracks as Dobrev fires back with a lightning fast right of her own and follows up with a right hook that spins Olsen’s head and Lizzie is in full retreat! Dobrev showing off her strength as she goes after the Fates girl and goes back to Olsen’s body as she covers her head. Nina just is churning out blows as she hammers Liz into the ropes, and the Avenger is holding on before driving a left into Nina’s mouth that halts the offensive just long enough for Elizabeth to clinch and force a break. The referee separates the two girls, and Olsen keeps her guard up as Dobrev chases her around the ring, just hitting Olsen whenever she can until the bell rings. It’s not even close as Nina wins the round by shutout.

Round 6:

Dobrev looking to continue with the same as the sixth round starts, and Olsen looks like she doesn’t want any part of her opponent and Dobrev is just hammering Olsen’s body again. The Fates corner is screaming at Olsen to back off and get a reset, which she eventually does, but she has to deal with a charging Nina, who drives a hard right at Elizabeth but she misses and her legs buckle as Lizzie nails a right to her chin and follows up with a left that opens up Nina just below her right eye. Nina is now the one who is covering herself as Liz goes to town on the Lioness girl’s body, the Avenger pumping leather into her ribs as she chases the bigger girl around the ring. Nina lands a straight right and throws a left follow-up, but Elizabeth blocks the left and drives another right into Nina’s chin that sends her stumbling backwards into the ropes – and the bell rings! The bell saves Dobrev as Olsen comes roaring back in the sixth, and we have a fight on our hands.

Round 7:

Nina is the one who is slow to get out of her corner while Elizabeth is finding her second wind, and she’s just bouncing blows off of Nina’s body, working around the Bulgraian’s guard and goes back to Nina’s ribs. Dobrev and lashes out with counterpunching rights that clip Olsen in her ear, but her blows leave her arms outstretched and Olsen buries a right into Dobrev’s solar plexus and Dobrev is hurting! Nina gurgles slightly as she bends over before Lizzie straightens her back up with a right uppercut, and the Lioness actress practically throws herself on the smaller Fates actress. While the two are wrapped up, Olsen still is able to work her left and she goes back to Dobrev’s battered body. Nina pulls in Lizzie for the second time and keeps her wrapped up long enough to force a break, but that only gets her a brief break. Olsen wastes no time going back to Dobrev’s body, and the Lioness girl is fading from the punishment. Barros is screaming at Olsen to finish off Dobrev, and the Avenger splits Nina’s guard with a left before she drives a right hook into her jaw and down goes Dobrev! Nina spills onto the canvas as she looks up at the ref, her chest heaving as he counts. Nina gets to her knees, but no further as the ref hits ten and it’s over! Your winner by KO7, Elizabeth Olsen!

After:

That’s six straight for Elizabeth Olsen after losing to Bella Thorne in a title fight, but she may well be back in the title picture as the actress is on an absolute tear. Olsen waves to the crowd before turning her attention back to Dobrev, who she checks in on once the Bulgarian is on her stool. The two embrace and Nina stands up, at which point Lizzie raises Dobrev’s hand and the crowd roars its approval. The two embrace again before going their separate ways, leaving the ring.

“Hey, Nina’s a top fighter.” Elizabeth compliments her opponent. “She’s tough, and she’ll be getting back to her winning ways soon. She’s going to be a Hall of Famer – and that quality will show when she bounces back.”

Dobrev overhears Olsen’s praise, and expresses her appreciation, “Honestly, I didn’t realize I had 80 fights. Getting close to that 100 mark. But my hat tonight has to go off to Elizabeth Olsen. She gets her own TV show and is top notch fighter – a girl who dominates her job and the ring. I know she just had a title fight, but she may just be back in line with this win.”

Both women may be 32, but if they proved anything tonight, it’s that they both are serious contenders, and that the other girls in the division can only underestimate them at their own risk.
