Before: "I beat this tramp before” Blake says, referring to their 2018 fight, “and there's no reason I can't do it again. I had her on the ropes early in our last fight and let her climb back into it in the middle rounds before I dropped her. This time, when I get my foot on her neck, I won't let her up. She's a tough Latina, and I respect that, but she's too full of herself for her own good. If she starts slow this time, there won't be any doubt about my superiority."

“If she thinks I’m the same fighter she beat,” Eiza retorts, “that’s just fine. Because that means she’ll be wondering what happened in a few minutes!”

R1: Smart, tactical stuff in the opening stanza as the ladies circling each other in midring – punch count’s not overly high, nothing too wild, but Eiza and Blake both connect accurately when they choose to engage. Gonzalez trying to establish herself behind a jab, but she’s getting beaten as Lively comes over it and kisses her mouth and chin each time with stiff right cross. Every now and then Blake will follow the cross up with a rangy left hook to Eiza’s belly or ribs, other times brunette will trade with her own palm-down hook to Lively’s flank or the side of her head… Brunette’s getting good torque behind her punch, really hammering the blonde when it lands, but Blake’s not fazed, either countering immediately or stepping back to regroup before pressing again. Lively takes the round from Gonzalez with smarter work and better ring control.

R2: Eiza wants in, wants to fight off Blake's chest: blonde sees it, works hard to deny it. Both girls manufacturing moments. Gonzalez digging up as much paunch as she can on the inside - traversing up-torso to pound pecs/biceps via swift-swiping right/lefts. Lively shelling jabs, dropping tasty right hands, pushing Eiza off in her shoulders. Eiza's brawn tells late: she's extending on shots, then shoving Blake around like a shopping cart. Gonzalez moving her head well, but she's scuffing up around the eyes as Lively's touches add up.

R3: Blake gliding, bending; flicking the jab; roaming clockwise; leaning away from hard punches on supple hips. Eiza cutting off the ring, jabbing to chest, then crowding in to get big until clinched. All even until late, Lively catching Eiza's chin a slick pull-counter right hand, leaves her bobbing on the spot in hurting earmuff, blonde girl strafes brunette head-and-shoulders with a withering array of rangy left/rights. Sexy stuff, Blake on front leg - slicing in the right; drawing it back across the hairline; cuffing Gonzalez the rangy hook; backhanding a tapping left jab; back in and down with the slicing right. Bell: Eiza blinking, wobbly-butt; Blake grinning, winking at press-row, hamming it up

R4: Eiza’s been stung, she slows pursuit, keeps hands at temples...she's verrry tentative on approach. Perfect for Blake, left jab flicking out from the waist, backhanding and towel-snapping at Gonzalez despite ref's warnings. Lively's right hand a slinging, chopping menace either picked up off the hip to drop down, or simply chopped out from the shoulder. Blake head-hunting exclusively - nothing directed at the Gonzalez torso. Bell to bell showgirl stuff from Lively, she darts and taps, leans away and slips rare Eiza receipts - essentially shutting out a well-protected but gunshy biggirl through 3. Before sitting on her stool, a beaming clambers up the ropes, roaring out into the crowd, nodding aggressively thereafter.

R5: Eiza’s making adjustments – she’s protecting herself better against Blake’s jab, bending and blocking to escape harm’s way. Lively’s cross is becoming more predictable as she goes for that knockout right, but without the left to set it up, it’s not there; Eiza’s parrying the straight punch, batting it away as she repeatedly exploits the opening the blonde’s defenses, she’s able to get in close and apply hard leather to Blake’s midsection. Blonde grimaces as she tries to tie her opponent up, tries to punch Gonzalez back into the outside, but can’t – fifth round sees Blake retreating for the first time as Eiza gets herself a foothold in blonde’s trunks.

R6: More relentless work from Eiza. Gonzalez reading Lively well, slipping the blonde’s jab or preempting it with her own, taking it away from her younger foe as she once again takes the fight to the inside. Furious punching from Eiza as she leans into fight mouth on shoulder, swiping at Blake’s torso with both fists, occasionally getting in an odd uppercut to snap at her tits, and overall making the younger woman feel her weight. Lively’s clinching when she can, punching back at Landry when she can’t, but the pattern’s the same as the scene repeats itself across all minutes – Blake’s forced to trade on Eiza’s terms, and under those conditions, comes in a decisive second.

R7: Oh. They. Slam. Away! Both ladies punching-with, Eiza committing her reserves to close the deal while Blake desperately tries to turn back the tide: either way, both know someone’s going down this round. Mindless slugging in midring sees both staggered in turn, shaken by clubbing wide punches to the head or bunched up by gouging blows to the tummy. Blake gets stroked by a furious combination to both sides of her jaw, then takes a left-right hook to the flanks before she can retaliate… LIVELY’S WOBBLY BUTT! Eiza’s puffy eyes light up with recognition at the sight of her stricken opponent as she pours it on, driving Lively back to the ropes. Blake’s tired, unraveling as Gonzalez once again works her way inside – blonde keeps her elbows in, trying to protect herself, but her midsection’s still an inviting target for the brunette, who keeps fitting in hooks to Lively’s ribs and sides… AND LIVELY GOES DOWN! It’s all too much… Blake slides past Eiza to sink to all fours, gasping for breath. Panting blonde gets one knee off the canvas, but that’s all, it’s a KO7 for Eiza Gonzalez

After: Blake spared any post-fight tribute as Eiza is grabbing and hugging her crew. With Tailor and Lima losing their last fights, she’s the only viable O&E candidate in a potential lightweight title tournament!

In front of the Chimera locker room, Charlize defensive: "I warned Blake about getting too far out over her skis, but she wouldn't listen...that's a problem we're still dealing with. She started great but then she got cocky and started playing to the crowd instead of keeping her foot on her opponent's throat (as she boasted before the fight). The girl's got a stubborn streak we're still trying to correct."

Sofia Vergara leaned over her shoulder and sneered, "It's a blond thing, hon...she's not the only blonde in Chimera who has trouble taking direction." Then Sofia gave Theron's firm bottom a playful spank as a point of emphasis.
