ACB Repco SuperSprint Boxing from Tasmania
Sophie Monk vs Tahan Lew-Fatt
(BronzedOz Boxing vs ACB Independent)
(0-2 vs ACB Debut)
Results: BBU; Story: Vassago

BEFORE: We are live in Launceston, Tasmania for the third round of the Repco V8 Supercars championship but our main focus is a special SuperSprint boxing event between veteran Sophie Monk and newcomer Tahan Lew-Fatt. Sophie remains winless in BBU/ACB competition but she didn't top Maxim Australia Hot 100 for nothing few years ago! Meanwhile Tahan is no stranger to boxing action, she secured an amateur victory back in October 2018 and wants to open a new chapter of her career in style tonight. Former Big Brother & Miss Universe Australia contestant is engaged to Supercars driver David Reynolds which explains the circumstances of her ACB debut.

Sophie Monk wears a red one-piece swimsuit & golden gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Tahan Lew-Fatt wears a black bikini set with golden trim & white gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for six rounds in the bantamweight division. The boxing ring is set up in the Symmons Plains Raceway paddock area.

Round 1:
Sophie gives the newcomer a solid jabbing test in the opening round coming out on top of several exchanges but she lacks genuine power to land that big punch. Nonetherless she takes advantage of the brunette's reserved approach and gets vocal when she lands a nasty harpoon into her stomach which sends Tahan reeling in a clear sign of discomfort. Sophie tries to trap her along the ropes but her chaotic push is neutralized by the brunette's superior mobility and the blonde spends majority of the final minute in a fruitless pursuit that earns her some whistles from the V8 patrons around the paddock area.

Round 2:
Tahan gets more aggressive supported by the Penrite Oils mechanics (her partner's V8 racing team) and she slams a quick double into the blonde's chin before dragging her into a feisty head-hunting dispute. Sophie stays in the exchange but gets outworked down the stretch and wobbles to her heels when the brunette whacks her on the mouth before driving a big right hand into her belly. Ugh! Sophie stumbles onto the turnbuckle with a loud whimper and gets duly picked off as Lew-Fatt comes in hot to clean up the wounded rival. Sophie clinches her late to limit the damage but BronzedOz coach Nicky Whelan is clearly frustrated by the blonde's performance.

Round 3:
Tahan storms into a jabbing drive that leaves Monk circling around in avoidance following a nasty left/right combo that slams her in the mouth. The lacklustre demons come back to haunt the blonde actress who just yields real estate on purpose and struggles to take a mean punch especially that Tahan can actually land them here in the third. No slugging response from Monk only fuels her approach but she's not polished enough to make the most from the blonde's questionable tactics and Sophie manages to clinch her late as the Penrite Oils crew claims it's Tahan's round on points anyway!

Round 4:
Nicky Whelan believes she'd have done a better job blasting the newcomer around and Sophie responds with a meaningful jabbing drive early in the fourth helped by a not-so-accidental headbutt that stymies the brunette's progress as well. Tahan finds her range come the second minute and plugs more shots into the blonde's midsection as both women lock horns in the phone booth before Monk shoves the younger foe onto the ropes where she harpoons her to the body. Tahan bumps the blonde off but just misses with her hooking approach and eats a stinger double on the chin which probably allows Sophie to steal the round against the V8 patrons' opinion.

Round 5:
Sophie flies in with a quick hooking combo but remains too chaotic in her execution which allows Tahan to send in a solid overhand response down the stretch. She gives the blonde foe a fat lower lip thru relentless jabbing efforts in the second minute and Monk responds with all-too predictable clinching that really makes coach Whelan angry... again! The Penrite boys are leading the Lew-Fatt support and their heroine responds by shaking off Monk's stalemate and chopping her in the ribs until she drives her butt-in-ropes where she maintains the high-octane effort to slam more leather into the blonde's body. Sophie tries to find an uppercut response but catches more of Tahan's forearms than anything else.

Round 6:
Tahan jumps into a final jabbing effort and Sophie realizes she can still nick this one on points but struggles to match the model's execution and carries only single punches into her face while soaking up another body assault drive. Tahan enforces the close range stance and pounds away in determined fashion which is enough to shut the blonde down. Sophie yields real estate and gets clobbered onto the turnbuckle where she fires back over the top and leaves a visible bruise on Lew-Fatt's left cheek but then gets belted in the liver area and folds into another clinch. Tahan manages to stick her left forearm into the blonde's boobs and works a drilling right hand to pancake the exposed tummy which leaves Monk drained of all resistance when the bell halts the six rounds of ACB action! Huh! The V8 patrons got their money's worth but let's check the scorecards first!

After six rounds of boxing judges score the bout 58-56 for your winner through unanimous decision Tahan Lew-Fatt!!!

AFTER: Sophie barks in anger and shakes her head upon hearing the official verdict but she really didn't do enough to upstage the newcomer. Coach Nicky Whelan hopes to receive some cash bonus from the Penrite Oils team and suggests Tahan should try her chances against Zoe Ventoura next time around: "You're not good enough to face any of the Herbert twins just yet and hell, I hope they come back and shut you up one day anyway!"

Some sour grapes from the BronzedOz Boxing crew but Green & Gold's Sarah Cumming finds them unwarranted since Sophie Monk represents a well known weak link on that roster. Let's hope Ms Whelan doesn't waste the Herberts' potential because she can't turn around Monk's fortunes whatsoever.

Meanwhile Tahan laughs off the loser blondes and is carried away on the Penrite mechanics' shoulders to celebrate in the team garage. It's way too early to determine her future ACB status at this stage but she confirms to Sarah Cumming she'd be happy to fight Zoe Ventoura at the next Repco Supercars round in Tailem Bend in early May.

Official Result: Tahan Lew-Fatt def. Sophie Monk UD6.
