BEFORE: It's time for the Main Event and the clash between Alina Vacariu and former BBU lightweight title challenger Elisabetta Gregoraci has caught the attention of Sports Illustrated legend Elsa Benitez who makes a guest VIP appearance in Bucharest tonight. Elsa comes off a tough defeat at the hands of Ann-Kathrin Brommel last week but she's linked to facing Vacariu as soon as next month - if the Romanian model can dispatch Gregoraci tonight! BBU TV's Denise van Outen believes Elsa might accept fighting the Italian model as well so it's a case of win/win for the Mexican cougar however Corina Caragea is convinced Alina will cap off a perfect sweep for the hosts tonight!

Meanwhile Elisabetta finds herself in a tricky place, she got passed over by the younger Federica Nargi for the Glamour Boxing Academy roster spot and might be forced to accept those high-risk opportunities on a regular basis due to lack of managerial backing.

Round 1:
Alina launches a quick-fire jabbing drive to move the Italian guest around the ring however Elisabetta is stubborn enough to just respond over the top and she nails the Romanian with a nasty hook on the eye which neutralizes all the early plans for the local favorite. BBU TV's Denise van Outen thinks Elisabetta will stay true to her power-hitting nature even though that should invite Alina into more judge-favorable action which indeed follows in due order. Elisabetta refuses to jump after the younger model and gets tackled to the body as Alina reloads her charge and finds success thumping the older brunette downstairs. Elisabetta shakes her off and fires back with an uppercut double that bounces off the jugs and carries into the chin which results in Vacariu backing off wholesale.

Round 2:
Both women jump into a steady jabbing assault as Elisabetta gets more aggressive and finds her range thumping more crisp shots into Alina's body. The Romanian lands a nasty harpoon on the liver area but gets shoved onto the ropes as the Italian displays supreme strenght and drags the local favorite into a lenghty clinching stalemate. Ref helps Alina out and separates the two but Elisabetta rips a right cross over his shoulder and nails Vacariu on the nose anyway. The Romanian wobbles to her heels and has to fend off another aggressive push as Gregoraci applies a head-hunting pressure and bangs the younger model onto the ropes where she whacks her across the boobs and lands a late uppercut on the chin to claim the round outright.

Round 3:
Alina swings back over the top and keeps Elisabetta in mid-distance but not for long as the Italian seeks another body asault success and works downstairs to move the Romanian around the area. She tags her with a couple of uppercuts on the jugs as well and forces Alina into a proper slugging response that results in a trigger-happy dispute in the center of the ring. Both women lay into each other with significant power and that's exactly what Gregoraci wants as she bangs a left/right combo on Vacariu's mouth to spin her onto her heels. The local favorite stumbles onto her heels when she gets caught by another jabbing blast and has to yield real estate thereafter as Elisabetta lands more body shots and traps her in the neutral corner. Alina tries to respond from behind the guard but finds little success and barks in anger at the bell.

Round 4:
The Romanian fanbase wants to see more success from their favorite but Alina just can't punish the Italian foe enough here despite plenty of effort. She almost looks too desperate early in the fourth and misfires on several head-hunting efforts which allows Gregoraci to pick her off in rare counter-punching style. However Alina finally plugs a meaningful drive into the Italian's chest and bangs a shot up the chimney that forces the older brunette to become more aggressive. Alina beats her to the punch though and scythes across the mouth before bouncing Elisabetta onto the ropes where she cleans her up downstairs to claim the round in somewhat laboured fashion.

Round 5:
Elisabetta cracks a left hook on the jaw but eats an uppercut response and suddenly Alina goes in hard on the jug muggin' route before clattering the Italian with a not-so-stray elbow. Ugh! The older brunette wobbles to her heels and has a hard time matching Vacariu's slugging pace from there; she gets backed onto the ropes where the local favorite resumes the uppercut pounce and nails Gregoraci with several heavy blows indeed. Elisabetta refuses to apply an earmuff cover and swings through in slugging fashion but Alina overcomes those efforts and tears a small gash under the Italian's left eye as she drops more bombs on target to dominate the final stretch.

Round 6:
Alina begins to outwork Elisabetta from the opening bell and the Italian looks out of sync when she tries to land a haymaker bomb over the top. She can't switch into another body assault effort fast enough because Vacariu lays it down first and keeps landing those harpoons on target until she shoves the reeling Italian onto the ropes. Elisabetta responds with a scything hook across the mouth but it's not enough to halt the Romanian's charge as more body assault slowly drains the Italian from precious energy. She gets busted against the turnbuckle and the relentless harpoon drive cripples her into a clinching stalemate; Alina gets vocal in anger but still claims the round on points according to Denise van Outen in the booth.

Round 7:
Elisabetta seeks a slugging push up the middle but only lands some single shots into her face and fails to throw Alina off her comfort zone. Both women stay in the phone booth action before Alina drills the Italian's rack and carries an uppercut double on the chin. Elisabetta swings over the top but misses and eats another heavy slug from the inside as Vacariu steps up into a booming hook on the ear that finally breaks the Italian's resilience. Gregoraci wobbles onto her heels with a whimper and gets clobbered with more belting pellets which drive her onto the ropes in visible disarray. Meanwhile Alina really lets it rip and almost sends the ailing Italian down onto her knees but the clock expires just as the Romanian was ready to deliver the final blow!

Round 8:
Elisabetta got saved by the bell in the seventh but she hasn't recovered to embrace another aggressive drive from the charging Romanian. Alina whacks her in the boobs and keeps those harpoons in action as she ravages the Italian's midsection to the point Elisabetta can't yelp her heart out loud enough! All Vacariu here in the eight as she sends the older brunette butt-in-ropes and hauls in more vicious shots up the middle as Gregoraci is unable to respond anymore. Alina almost knocks her out standing before a left hook on the ear pulls the Italian's plug outright. Elisabetta crashes onto her knees with eyes closed and slumps against the ropes moments later so the referee doesn't bother with the count! KO8 Alina Vacariu!!!

AFTER: This was a true Main Event showdown between two very durable women and Alina looks exhausted enough she doesn't celebrate her victory much as she walks slowly to manager Corina Caragea in the Romanian Invasion corner. Meanwhile Elisabetta has to be helped off the canvas by the medical team and remains sitting on her stool when the official verdict is announced. Alina gives her a high-five from distance and tells Denise van Outen she's gained a lot of respect for the Italian veteran - something that Elsa Benitez will have to earn the hard way as well. The Mexican super model enters the ring and we have a genuine face off between two future rivals but the Romanian Invasion gang turns their attention to Alexandra Stan's BBU bantamweight title challenge next week so there's no official word when the Vacariu/Benitez clash will happen for the time being.
