Intro:
Kelly Gale and Sara Sampaio certainly know each other very well, former stablemates in the Girls Friday stable, sparring thousands of rounds together, now tonight in Newcastle's Utilita Arena they battle it out, which of these stunning models will get their hand raised when it is all said and done?

In the build up the Girls Friday stable posted a picture of the pair together in the gym in the past, though judging by the comments by the fighters, things don't seem as close now, with Kelly replying to it "happier times, when Sara could actually get wins, will be like old times when she gets a taste of my boxing gloves round after round" with the following photo.


Sara of course didn't leave that laying, she replies "oh really Kelly? Your memory seems shaky because which of us was asking management to settle who was better in the ring? I wanted this fight for a while, so thank you for my chance to showcase my talents by knocking out Kelly finally" along with this photo.


Fight night, out first comes Kelly with Alessandra Ambrosio and cut woman Eva Carneiro behind her, Kelly blows kisses to the fans at the top of the aisle before walking to it, she is wearing a leopard print bikini with orange gloves, hair tied back into a ponytail, she steps into the ring looking relaxed, fist bumping her corner crew while nodding to them that she has this.

Out now comes Sara with her coach behind her, she raises her arms in the air as she stares at the ring, then jogs down the aisle, she is wearing a maroon bikini with matching gloves, her hair also in a ponytail, she climbs through the ropes into the ring, pacing in her corner with her gloves held together.

Brought to the center of the ring by the referee, the fighters lock eyes in an intense stare down, bouncing on their toes as the final instructions are read out to them, they do touch gloves with a crack of leather, then jog back to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
At the bell both women start off trying to land their rights behind their jabs, both dodging before trying to smack the other back, knowing each other very well to say the least, they nearly clash heads coming in with a straight at the same time that grazes the others cheek.

Kelly switches it up with a one-two into the chest of Sara, she takes a defensive jab onto her lips, before landing a right cross on the jaw of her former stablemate, knocking her back to the outside as the Swedish stunner looks to push the pace, doubling up her jab to press Sampaio closer to the ropes.

Controlling the center of the ring, Kelly is showing off her boxing skills by mixing up her targets to stop Sara from getting an easy read on her, though Sara isn't simply shelling up, she is landing some nice single punches in return, the issue is more she is being outworked by her opponent in these exchanges.

In the final moments of the round Sara shows off her own skills, slipping a straight to bang in a left hook to the body, then a looping right hook catches Kelly to the side of her head as finally Sara begins to motor forwards, the round soon comes to an end with both women walking past each other to their corners without acknowledging their former friend at all.

Round 2:
Back at it they go with Kelly looking to keep the heat on Sara, she eats a straight onto her chin after missing with a left cross, Sara pumps in a follow up one-two combo to snap back the head of Kelly, who finds herself now getting caught flush into her beautiful face.

The Portuguese beauty showing off her own hand speed, outworking Kelly now she has her on the back foot, aiming a good amount of punches around the abs and chest of Kelly, then landing some hard overhand shots to the face of her opponent, while mostly taking single jabs or straights into her face.

Kelly does come back at her as they enter the second half of the round, deflecting a right to land one of her own to the lips of Sampaio, she steps in with two body shots, just missing with an overhand left as Sara moves out of the way, striking with a double jab in reply to Gale's face.

Things even out a little more in the final minute as they exchange around the center, neither grabbing a real foothold now as they crash in stiff shots between the others mitts to faces, at the bell Sara turns on her heels looking all business, a win her being so much for her tonight, Kelly staring hard at her back before returning to her own stool.

Round 3:
Trading more stiffer shots as they plant their feet more, eyes narrowed behind their gloves as these toned models want to knock the others lights out, barking with effort during another evenly fought opening thirty seconds, both so similar physically and skill sets.

Stepping back when Kelly throws in another right cross, Sara showing her boxing IQ by dodging then striking with a straight in reply around the cheeks of Kelly, knocking her back with a left hook/straight combo into her opponent's face, looking to be enjoying landing flush to the beautiful face of Gale.

Claiming the middle of the ring, Sara is staying in a little closer now, knowing that Kelly is having a harder time loading up due to the lack of space she has to work in, a double jab knocks Kelly's head back before an uppercut grazes her chin, onto the ropes goes the Swede as Sampaio steps in to throw five rapid fire punches towards her head, Kelly blocking most with the last two breaking through, Kelly grabbing onto Sara in a clinch.

Broken apart by the referee, the fighters reset near the center exchanging hard shots, Kelly's cheeks are marking up nicely as Sara is swinging through with her hips more of the two, a missed straight by Sara late in the round gives Kelly an opening to land an uppercut then a left cross to knock back Sara, the round comes to an end with Sara starting to grab the bull by the horns and take control of the fight.

Round 4:
It's hard to split these two early in the rounds, their hand speed is great as they exchange little flurries, crowd roaring both beautiful women on as sweat is making them glisten, Kelly lands a nice double jab through the mitts of Sara, again though just missing with her right hook as she is loading up a little too much.

Soon enough Sara catches Kelly flush with a right across her jaw after a missed left cross from the Swede, another right smacks back the head of Kelly to the delight of the Sampaio camp, with Sara driving back Kelly towards a corner with her head down and piston like body shots flying in.

Pushing back Sara to create space, Kelly is trying to move away from the ropes with Sara crowding her, the sound of leather cracking on beautiful faces ring out between the fighters, neither holding back as this is truly personal, a mouse forms under the left eye of Gale as she takes some nasty right crosses around there.

An overhand left smacks Kelly to the side of her head as she misses with a straight, Sara pressing her to the ropes, throwing clubbing hooks around the guard till Kelly can grab onto her in a tight clinch, magnificent bodies grinding together as they grapple along the ropes till the round ends, pushing apart from each other, Alessandra shakes her head as Kelly comes back to her corner, telling Kelly to box smarter, stop loading up so much on those big power punches.

Round 5:
Taking on her coaches advice, Kelly isn't throwing as many hooks or cross punches, she is instead starting to use feints, creating openings as Sara is trying to counter punch still, getting caught to her face with jabs or hammered to the abs by straights as Kelly is reminding the Portuguese fighter of her own boxing prowess.

Sara comes back at Kelly with a straight around that left eye, it's making Kelly wince when it gets hit, with Sara starting to come firing at her face, Kelly tightening her guard up as she retreats towards the ropes, Sara banging away to the body with hooks, looking to have her opponent trapped there till she is held onto by Gale.

Broken apart with around half the round gone, Sara looks to be the aggressor now, she overextends with a straight, eating an uppercut for her troubles, being knocked back onto her heels as Kelly now rams her punches between the gloves of Sara to her face, getting a loud cheer from her supporters.

Needing to clinch up herself now, Sara looks annoyed that Kelly is sticking in and hasn't wilted yet, both women grappling as the referee has a hard time breaking them up, when they are they go toe to toe, crowd whistling and cheering as sweat flies off both their heads, the bell rings with both just about holding back, staring hard at their opponent before turning to their corners to take a breather.

Round 6:
Sara is looking to up the tempo again early on, stepping after Kelly with two punch combos, Kelly takes some on her gloves, others land into her face to knock her backwards, Kelly needing to hold onto Sara's right arm while digging to the side of her head with her right, earning her a warning as Sara is fuming at the dirty tactic.

When they resume Sara again steps forwards, missing with a straight as Kelly slips it then buries an uppercut into the stomach of her opponent, Sara groans out as she takes a step back, a left cross smacks across her face, creating a little puffiness around her cheek as Kelly starts to be the aggressor.

Bashing Sara to the outside part of the ring, Kelly is throwing some nice combinations, looking as relaxed as she did in the opener, especially when she digs in straight body shots that are definitely making Sara grimace a little as the wind looks to be getting taken out of her sails.

Pushing back Kelly with less then forty seconds to go, things get a little scrappy between the fighters, nearly clashing heads, as they clinch up Sara grinds her head into that swelling on Kelly's face, making Gale cry out as the referee gives Sampaio a warning now, at the bell they are both starting to look hurt, Sara calling Kelly a bytch to her coach, Alessandra keeping Kelly calm as she can see her fighter is getting riled up.

Round 7:
Trading around the center of the ring, things slow down a little as neither wants to make a mistake, Sara going back more around the chest of Kelly to lower that guard, taking a few digging punches around the top of her head in reply, crowd chanting for both women.

Kelly lands a left cross as Sara comes in closer, but she gets clipped an overhand left as she comes after the retreating Sampaio, a right cross then catches Kelly under the left eye to cause a cut, Gale crying out as Sara comes after her with a flurry aimed at the cut, making the retreating fighter nearly stumble as she is driven into a neutral corner.

Grabbing onto Sara in a tight clinch, Kelly needs the time to get her head straight as the shock of being cut wears off, Sara trying to break free, head rammed under the chin of Kelly as the referee steps in to break them up, Sampaio getting another warning from the referee.

They resume with Sara on the front foot, wanting to end this now as she has Kelly boxing on the defensive, protecting that cut as best as she can with her left glove, Sara getting a little too predictable as Kelly leans out the way then lands a straight into the chest of Sara, then a left hook catches Sara onto her chin to knock her backwards, the bell rings with the referee getting between them, eyes full of fury as they stare each other down, then return to their corners with Eva needing to patch up that cut.

Round 8:
Sara is out her corner trying to get at that cut early, problem is Kelly knows that and sidesteps a straight as she moves to Sara's left, pounding a counter right into her chin to twist her head around, a left then knocks Sara onto her heels as suddenly the heat is being turned up on her.

Throwing a jab that Kelly is able to swat aside with her glove, instead a left cross smacks Sara on the chin again, she is starting to leak punches as Kelly is pounding through the guard into her face, AN UPPERCUT RATTLES SARA, A FOLLOW UP LEFT/RIGHT HOOK COMBO SENDS SAMPAIO DOWN ONTO HER BACK!

Kelly taking in the crowds cheers as she raises her arms in the air, Alessandra yelling for her to stop show boating as the referee nudges Kelly to the neutral corner, 1...2...3....4.. Sara looks up with a dazed look, rolling slowly to her front, 5...6...7.. She tries to push up, 8... But her arms give way as she is rocked badly, 9...10 it's all over!

Winner Kelly Gale KO Round 8

After:
That's another win on the board for Kelly as she has really found her mojo these past few months, she thanks the heavens as this was certainly no cake walk against Sara, with the winner unknotting her gloves with help of Alessandra, then moves towards Sara.

Who is being checked on by her coach as she finally gets up to kneel, Kelly puts out her right hand to Sara, the beaten fighter staring defiantly at her till she nods and accepts the hand, getting helped up off Kelly as they embrace, Kelly saying "I forgot how good you are" with Sara replying "wait till next time" both smiling as the frostiness between them seems to have melted away, remembering the good times they had it seems as they joke about who used to win in sparring.

They return to their corners to get cleaned up, with both happy to have a seat to relax and take stock of the war they just went through, as much as Kelly won tonight, she admits to her coaching team it could have went the other way, Sara meanwhile cursing herself for giving up such an early lead, though she admits that Kelly is tough to keep on going for the comeback to happen.

When they head to the center of the ring they embrace again to a round of applause, Kelly getting her left hand raised to make the result official, then both women pose together for the cameras, jokingly putting a fist under the others chin as Alessandra shakes her head with a big beaming smile, remembering when she suggested the Girls Friday management to bring these two into the stable five years ago.

Before Sara goes Kelly asks "do you want me to ask Melanie to bring you back to the stable? You know I didn't want you gone right?" A concerned look on her face for her friend, Sara shakes her head with a warm smile, telling Kelly "no but thank you, I need to find my own way or another stable, I'd just be one of plenty of faces if I return, unless of course you are afraid I'll beat you next time?" With Kelly shaking her head before shaking Sara's hand.

Out the ring goes Sara, she waves to the fans as they applaud her efforts tonight, she nods to her coach that she did the right thing not accepting Kelly's offer to help out rejoin the stable, instead she can blaze her own path how she wants with who as her coach, if tonight is anything to go by the way back to the winning road could be coming very soon.

In the ring Kelly blows kisses to the crowd as she does a lap of honour, how that cut will effect her chances in the next round of the Victoria Secret tournament is anyone's case, will it have healed as that is her breakout chance, for now it's all about partying as she steps out the ring, Alessandra putting her right arm around her shoulders as she says first drink is on her.
