Intro:
It's a homecoming for the Londoner Emma Corrin as she takes on her toughest test in her going career, she is facing the former FCBA welterweight champion Cassidy Freeman here in the O2 Arena, the classic battle of the new school versus the old guard.

Emma started the year off quickly with wins over Emmy Rossum and former champion Mandy Moore, she finally met her match though against another former champion in Tahnee Atkinson, if people think she is picking an easy fight tonight by facing someone fourteen years older, Cassidy is on a two fight win streak after beating Paula Patton and Christina Hendricks, while only Amanda Righetti and Kelly Brook have beaten her in her last four.

Before the bout FCBA Network's Alicia Atout got a few words from Emma before she headed into her locker room, wearing a black dress with matching heels, Emma smiled as she gave Alicia a wave as she saw her coming towards her.

Asked about the tough schedule she is on for a rookie, Emma replies "so far I am handling it well I think, the GBS management want the best and frankly I want to be the best, so no complaints from me" looking more excited about tonight then worried.

The subject then turns to tonight's fight, Emma replies "first I want to say I have massive respect for Cassidy, she has always been an amazing fighter, watching tapes on her I know only tell some of the story, once I share the ring with her it will be an amazing feeling to trade with a great" Alicia agrees that Cassidy is a legend of the celebrity boxing world.

Emma is quick to point out "though that doesn't mean I am here to fawn over her in the ring, I am here to simply win, afterwards I will tell her my respect, in the ring I need to be at my best to overcome her" Alicia nodding as she wishes Emma luck, before the "Crown" star heads into her locker room.

Cassidy meanwhile gives an interview in the backstage area to Alicia, she is wearing a black "Lioness Club" T-shirt with black denim jeans, she smiles to Alicia before looking at the camera with her smirk, not looking too worried about tonight.

"So Emma I guess thinks I am getting too old to deal with these younger women hmm.. Well as I've proven over the years I have the firepower to deal with most fighters, I'm not planning on retiring anytime soon so ladies get used to having to go through me to prove you belong" says Cassidy with her hands on her hips, challenging the younger fighters to bring it on.

Asked if she feels disrespected by Emma then, Cassidy says "maybe Emma doesn't mean to but for your fourth fight you challenge me? That's either a fools errand or you don't think I am as good as I am, either way I am here to beat her butt then go check out one of the pubs around here" she heads off clearly believing she has made her point as she isn't playing around tonight.

Fighting time, first through the curtain comes Emma with her coach Jeri Ryan, Emma gets a loud roar from the crowd as she even looks a little startled by that, blowing kisses to the crowd as she walks the aisle to the ring, wearing a white sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair tied into a ponytail.

Climbing into the ring, Emma does a lap inside the ring as the crowd chant "let's go Emma! Let's go!" She gets to her corner with Jeri telling her not to get distracted by the fans, this is all about her getting the W on her record and the payday for beating Cassidy.

Who now heads out to a mix of boos and cheers, Cassidy is used to going into hostile territory in her career, she simply stares at the ring as she walks down the aisle with her coach Claudia Schiffer beside her, she wears a black sports bra, black trunks with a red waistband that has her surname written in gold italic letters across the front, black shoes, red gloves, while her hair is also in a ponytail.

She steps into the ring and goes straight to her corner, looking fully focused on the task at hand as she uses Claudia's hands as punch pads to warm up, Claudia telling her "give them a real reason to hate you" making Cassidy smile as she pats Claudia on her left shoulder as she passes her to go to the middle of the ring.

Where the fighters come face to face, an intense look on their faces as this is it, Emma looking a little more nervous of the two as she bounces on her toes, Cassidy simply staring right through her, they respectfully touch gloves when told to, heading to their corners to a loud roar from the crowd, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Kicking off behind their jabs, there is a level of respect shown from the bell, neither wanting to make an early mistake as they fight around the middle of the ring, Cassidy pushing the tempo up a notch with a one-two combo, getting clipped with a left across her face before they reset.

The veteran is making all the early moves so far, drilling in more flurries between them, Emma looking a little tense in the opening minute, sticking to primarily her jab as her eyes are locked onto Cassidy, trying to get a read on her now they are in a ring for real and not simply watching her on tape.

Emma clearly feels she has been the second minute, leaning out the way of a left cross, countering with a straight onto the chin of the American, with a left cross following to turn Freeman's head to the side, suddenly the switch has been turned on for Corrin as she drives forwards with a one-two combo into the face of her opponent, then misses with a right cross as she gets too open, eating a pounding jab into her lips.

Things settle back down as they are hard to separate, Cassidy landing the crisper punches, Emma though now starting to out work her with most of her punches aimed at the head of her opponent, at the bell most pundits agree it is too close to call who won what could be described as a feeling out round.

Round 2:
Emma comes out using more of her jab as she steps in, trying to push back her opponent, Cassidy slipping a few of those jabs as she shows the skills that once made her the best in this division, countering with several straight punches into the blondes face.

Back to the outside part of the ring goes Corrin, when Freeman tries to push the pace she steps into a counter left across her jaw as Emma shows her impressive footwork to sidestep the veteran, following with a right into her abs as Cassidy covers her face.

Now there's more confidence behind Emma's attacks, she is using feints along with switching up her targets more to give Cassidy more of an issue, Freeman going on the defensive as she is trying to work out what is coming her way, landing several clean straight punches to the forehead of Emma when she sees openings to strike into.

Final minute after firmly controlling the action, Emma shows her inexperience by trying to land a big power punch now as she is having success, missing with a left hook as Cassidy leans out the way, a counter right smacks the English fighter onto her chin, a left cross is then followed with a right to turn Emma's head as she has to cover up, Cassidy driving her back across the ring onto the ropes just before the bell rings, Emma winning the round but Cassidy reminding her who she is in the ring with there.

Round 3:
Trading more punches out the gate as they are understanding each other better, Emma lands a nice double jab into the face of Cassidy to make her back off, she overextends with a right hook as Cassidy dances back out the way, slamming a counter left into the face of Emma to knock her back.

After an evenly fought opening thirty seconds, Cassidy dips under a left cross to bang in a right then left hook to the body, the uppercut she throws doesn't land flush, it definitely spooked her opponent though as Corrin covers up more tightly as she moves back to the outside of the ring.

Cassidy happy to box from the center of the ring as she throws more punches at the body of her opponent, swinging a few overhand shots that Emma just about blocks in time, the former champion trying to find an opening for one of her power punches, being patient as she works away.

A left cross catches Cassidy on her cheek as Emma tries to fight her way off the ropes, both getting in close to work as Emma pushes in tight, heads rubbing as they bang away to each others body, Emma maybe trying to make Cassidy respect her, instead she gets clipped with an uppercut, then a left cross slams onto her jaw as the round comes to a close, Emma cursing herself as she returns to her corner.

Round 4:
The fighters both come out throwing more double jabs, Emma dipping under a jab to hammer a one-two into the abs of her opponent, getting clipped with a left cross to the top of her head, making her retreat back to the outside part of the ring.

Cassidy slams in a straight to the chest of Emma, the blonde lands a clipping left to the cheek of Cassidy, THEN AN UPPERCUT CATCHES EMMA ON HER CHIN, SHE IS KNOCKED BACK AS AN OVERHAND RIGHT SMACKS HER TO THE SIDE OF HER HEAD TO SEND CORRIN DOWN TO HER RIGHT KNEE!

There's a mixed response from the crowd as Cassidy jogs to a neutral corner, 1...2...3... Emma shakes her head as she tries to clear any cobwebs, 4...5...6.. She punches the canvas with her right fist, 7...8.. Getting up with fists raised, she doesn't look too badly hurt as she nods she wants to fight on.

Cassidy smartly doesn't rush in, she instead is picking her punches to look for openings, Emma is trying to come firing back at the redhead, missing though as Jeri is trying to yell at her to fight smart, Cassidy drilling counters through her guard into her face, busting the bottom lip of Emma to the delight of Melanie in her corner.

When the round ends it's a great statement round for Cassidy, she jogs back to her corner with Melanie smiling at her, Jeri meanwhile has a stern talking to Emma as she works to clean up her cut lip, Emma nods looking like a naughty schoolgirl that has been caught.

Round 5:
Stepping out her corner with her guard more higher up, Emma is looking to protect herself better, Cassidy seeing this is drilling more punches into the abs of Emma, taking several punches onto her forehead for her trouble as both fighters work around the center.

A double jab/straight combo slams into the chest of Emma, who hisses out as her guard opens up, a one-two combo then follows to slam into the lips of Emma, who covers up as she moves back to range, working behind her guard trying to keep Cassidy back.

Cassidy dips down as she moves in closer, landing two overhand punches around the guard of Corrin, sweat comes flying off her head, pulling Freeman into a clinch, forcing the referee to step in as they grapple along the ropes, broken up with Emma pushing Cassidy back to open up space between them.

Once apart Emma catches Cassidy trying to move in closer again, this time the blonde lands a left hook, a straight then knocks Cassidy's head back as Emma starts to pump her fists through the mitts of the redhead, knocking her back into a corner with a jab/right uppercut late in the round, Freeman covering up now up till the bell rings moments later.

Another strong round for Cassidy, Emma though showing she won't go away so easily, sitting on her stool looking determined not to go out so easily, Jeri wiping her down as they talk about what she needs to change up.

Round 6:
Slamming in more hard punches through their opponent's guard as both are opening up more, Emma leaning out the way of a right cross, a straight lands onto the nose of Cassidy, a left hook to the body follows to make the redhead retreat back.

Emma coming forwards but eats a double jab into her lips, causing more blood to run down her chin, Cassidy coming back at the blonde as both nearly clash heads working in tight, a short left lands to the cheek of Cassidy to force her back out.

After the opening minute of the round, Emma lands a one-two combo into the bottom lip of her opponent, leaning out the way of a right cross before countering with a straight into the forehead of Freeman, pushing back the Lioness fighter.

Cassidy is starting to shell up as she is getting caught more by the quicker hands of her opponent, Emma swinging in more hooks to land to the ears of Cassidy, getting caught with an uppercut as she opens up, Cassidy flying back at her late in the round, pressing the English fighter onto the ropes as seconds tick away.

When the round ends both women turn back to their corners coated in sweat, Emma has a little blood on her bust from her lip, both women getting wiped down by their coaches, Emma getting told off Jeri she can pull this around as Cassidy is being told to keep smothering Emma's work, don't let her breath.

Round 7:
Pushing on from the end of the last round, Cassidy looks to push back Emma early on, getting caught with a jab into her forehead, landing two hooks to the body as she dips under a straight, Cassidy driving back the younger woman towards the ropes, getting pushed back before she can unload on her.

A double jab slams into the chest of Cassidy now, with Emma dancing back out the way of a left cross, she quickly steps in with a right hook that turns Cassidy's head as it lands flush, an uppercut knocks Freeman onto her heels as she is under a sustained assault now.

Trying to match Emma's work rate, Cassidy is getting hammered back by Emma into her face, an overhand right from Cassidy doesn't land, INSTEAD AN UPPERCUT KNOCKS HER HEAD BACK, A LEFT THEN A RIGHT HOOK LAND TO SEND CASSIDY TO HER BACK!

With under forty seconds to go the crowd roars as Emma heads to the neutral corner after taking a deep breath, nodding to herself hoping that's it, 1...2...3...4.. Cassidy turns to all fours as she heads to the ropes, 5...6...7.. She grabs for the middle ropes, 8.. Her grip slips as she looks shaken up, 9...10 that's it! Cassidy is counted out!

Winner Emma Corrin KO Round 7

After:
Emma raises her arms looking relieved, she has overcome one of the legends of the FCBA after being downed herself, a rough learning experience as she heads to her corner, getting a warm embrace from her coach Jeri.

Cassidy is helped up to her feet by Melanie, she holds her head as she groans, head buzzing as she gets leans against the ropes, Emma comes over once Cassidy is helped over to her own corner, checking on the beaten fighter as they give each other praise.

After a fist bump between them, Emma jogs back to her own corner as both women can now be cleaned up, Cassidy admitting "I underestimated her there, she was getting hurt I know it" with Melanie smiling as she nods, replying "well you know what to do next time you share a ring with her" Cassidy chuckling to herself as she tries not to be too disheartened by this loss.

Once both are cleaned up they head to the center for the final result to be announced, Emma getting a loud cheer from the English fans as her left arm is raised, sportingly Cassidy applauds her before she leaves the ring to give the spotlight.

Cassidy gives the fans a wave on her way up the aisle, she has been focusing on fighting cougar division boxers, maybe Cassidy has decided to stick to boxing more women her age range, though tonight showed she can still compete evenly with women younger then her.

In the ring Emma applauds the crowd for their support, they chant her name in response as she is building her fan base up nicely, she then steps out the ring with a proud look on her face, Jeri patting her on the back as she heads up the aisle, with the Diamond Boxing Tournament just finishing two days ago, has Emma made an argument to be in next years addition? For now it's just one learning fight at a time.
