BEFORE:
“I’m glad to be back,” Nell says with a nod. “Not many girls from Scouting Missions receive the call to return so soon. I know they pitted me against Lily last time - she’s one of the best in the business at the moment, but I’m already ready and excited to try my best against Carys.”

Nell looks over to her opponent across the long table, and Carys shifts uncomfortably in her seat. As the daughter of Catherine Zeta-Jones, there's a lot of pressure on her shoulders.

“I’m glad to follow in my mother’s footsteps, and the rest of the boxing greats. I just turned eighteen a few months ago, so it means I get to kickstart my own career with a win over Nell,” Carys says, stealing glances at her celebrity parents in the front row.

Nell and Carys face off on stage, each looking slightly nervous. Nell’s in an amber straight bikini, her long strawberry blonde hair falling messily over both shoulders. Opposite her, Carys is slightly shorter but looking toned for her age. The young actress is wearing a simple black bikini and hot denim shorts.

They respectfully shake hands before heading back to their corners. Later, in the ring, both rookies look out to the crowd and raise their arms once the ring official calls their names. Looks like we have a respectable flock of fans in each girl’s corners today! HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Nell on the move early, striking at the debutante’s head with the practised grace of a seasoned fighter. She might only have two fights under her belt, but that’s two more than what her opponent has, with Carys still scrambling to find her footing in there as she gets hounded with steady punishment in the form of jab combo after jab combo streaking in. Carys takes a nasty hit to the nose and goes squealing backwards, focusing on her defense and staying alive first, worrying about winning the match later. Nell fully takes advantage of her opponent’s inaction, scouring inwards and landing more stiff blows to Carys’ pale tummy and across the arms to slam into her forehead. End of the round and Tiger’s living up to her namesake, showing plenty of aggression early on to win the round wide.

ROUND 2:
Carys, however, bites back in the second with an early flurry that catches Nell on the lips, and the two young ladies throw down in a mad dash of mutual punishment, jabs flying both ways as they stick their gloves into face and body right, left and center. Nell’s surprised by the rookie’s tenacity, grunting as she takes another hard right punch across the chin, powers a return shot back but only damages Carys on the arms. Carys getting into this boxing thing well, her celebrity parents again smiling and cheering in the front row seats. She continues to march in and plant punches to Nell’s body and sides, stunning the Brit with another haymaker to the arms to end off the second round more clearly in her favour. These two want the win badly, and are fine with tearing into each other to get it!

ROUND 3:
Nell’s still on the backburner, letting out another yelp! when Douglas shocks her to the middle of the arms early with an overhand haymaker. Carys is still in control of the action, walking her blonde foe down and keeping up the abuse, jab-jab-power cross combos sent into Nell’s body like she’s clearly being practised on back in the gym. Another power combo STUNS Nell clean to her face in the very first minute, which sends the Brit DOWN with a grunt! Ouch! An early and sweet KNOCKDOWN from Carys, who scores the very first KO of her career! She doesn’t know what just happened either, assumes she’s already won the match as she goes running off to her corner with her arms up in the air! But her team quickly tells her to cool her jets, rest against the turnbuckle, and more importantly, look on, as Nell slowly rises back up to her feet, the referee steadily counting her up to 10.

Big scare there for Tiger, who looks hella pissed that she took the first fall of this match-up. Still two minutes left on the clock, however, and the referee waves his arms to resume! Nell shows off a tighter defence, even as Carys comes in with even more confidence than before! Douglas is trying to chase her foe down and score another KO to win her debut match, but Tiger’s moving fast on her own, barely punching back, using her longer legs to keep herself well away for the remainder. Bell rings and there’s no doubt that Carys scored an upset in these three minutes, certainly making the pundits sit up and take notice of her future.

ROUND 4:
Nell slowly but surely scores her own revenge, however, as Carys comes in hard and fast with a flurry of punches only to get countered with a sharp overhand to her face, as Tiger lets the young brunette make her own unforced errors with her unchecked enthusiasm. Nell blasts the young actress with another stiff hook to the side of the face, which spins Carys about with a dull grunt - she ain’t used to taking punishment back from a punching bag in the gym! Douglas suddenly looks groggy as hell, her arms back up and taking tentative steps in retreat. HERE COMES NELL, looking for payback! Holes in Carys’ defences means she continues taking shot after shot to her face and body, whether it’s a stiff poke to the cheek or an uppercut landing right on the belly button. She’s pushed backwards and back till she hits the ropes, and Nell aims a sweet swing for her chin, LIFTING Douglas upwards when it connects!! AND DOWN THE AMERICAN GOES, Carys absolutely smacked silly by that shot to the base of her jawline, and she goes crashing down to her side in a return KNOCKDOWN from Nell Tiger Free! Girls do NOT like each other, as Free does a return gloating nod before striding back to her corner with her arms raised high! Carys scored her first victory last round, and now her first taste of defeat with her lips pressed to canvas. She barely registers the referee’s shouts upwards and out, but does manage to push herself up to her knees, then back to her feet, no doubt her parents’ and supporters’ cheers encouraging her every step of the way! She makes it back up by 8, and this fight is set to continue!

We’re only in the fourth round and ALREADY we’ve seen more knockdowns than some title fights! A minute left on the clock and it’s Carys’ turn to turtle up and move, Nell striding inwards and shocking her repeatedly to the body to earn more points for her already advantageous corner. Bell rings and Tiger’s back in the driver’s seat!

ROUND 5:
Carys mounts an early comeback, meeting Nell head-on and driving another overhand punch into her arms, designed to push the Brit back. Trouble is, Nell’s seen and heard and studied all the moves that have already been thrown in her direction. She anticipates Carys’ attack early on, absorbing the blow with her forearms before blazing a return hand straight into the American girl’s face! OUCH! Carys stunned, pushed backwards, as another and another fist catches her clean on the cheek. She tries to turtle up and bend low, but Nell just turns her attacks into body shots as the blonde crowds in close and bats and batters away at the brunette’s lean torso! Finally, Carys has had enough for one day, GROANS as a stiff hook scores off the side of her tummy, and HER BODY FOLDS OVER and down to its knees!! Another KNOCKDOWN from Nell Tiger Free, and this time, it’s finally over! Carys’ left curled up by the ropes, making little effort to get back up, as the referee gives her the benefit of all ten counts in her debut match before WAVING rapidly for the bell!

Official Decision: Nell Tiger Free defeats Carys Douglas via KO5!

AFTER:
Another promising start for Free, as she continues to score win after win against these newcomers to the ring. One would argue that her only loss thus far was to a former Flyweight champion, Lily Collins, and that she needs to be tested further if she wants to gauge herself as a future contender.

For now, she’s all smiles, gliding back to her corner, beaming wide, parting those loose strands of hair from her blonde fringe. Later, she’s approached by reporters, who ask her how she thinks she did tonight.

“I think it went as well as it could have. Carys dropping me early certainly was a scare for me and my corner. I hope she sticks around in the ring though. We could certainly have a rematch in the future.”

Meanwhile, Douglas is being consoled by her celebrity parents and fight team in her own corner of the ring. She’s still dumped on her butt, resting by the turnbuckle and close to tears, but receiving several reassurances that she’s alright. Later, Nell comes over to check on her status but is quickly shoo-ed away by the protective fight team. Looks like Douglas continues to be insulated and protected at all costs, and hopefully that doesn’t prevent her from gaining a first win in the future!

For now, what a performance from two young ladies looking to make a name for themselves!
