LAURA PAUSINI VS LAURA VANDERVOORT

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Laura P: 47 YO, 5’6 ½ (1.69 m), FCBA: 0-23-0 since 2014, Latin Union.

Laura V: 36 YO, 5/6 (1.68 m), 36-41-2, 26 KO since 2007, Foxfire Boxing

Before: “’Cougar fighting’? Bah! That is for old ladies. My age is just a number—I feel ready to fight and this blonde beach bunny Laura V. will finally give me my first FCBA victory,” says Laura Pausini, who does indeed look fit and ready to get into the ring. Laura’s enjoyed some success back in Europe, but her FCBA career has seen one loss after another. Still, she has been an enthusiastic fighter and this has earned her a small, but devoted fan base. Laura smiles when this is brought up. “I was surprised when I realized I had such loyal fans around here. They are always there to cheer me on and I deeply wish to reward them with a victory.”

Lsura Vandevoort acutely aware she hasn’t had an FCBA win since 2018. “Yeah, that was Nicole Scherzinger. I got a TKO5 stoppage on her. I actually won all three of my fights that year. Since then it’s been 0-10 for me and I don’t have to tell you I am sick of that. Pausini probably thinks I’m ripe for plucking, but she’s not getting her first win at MY expense.”

Come fight night, Laura Pausini in a dark blue with light blue trim bikini. Light blue gloves and boots with dark blue laces. Hair loose and wetted down, enters the ring. Then comes Laura Vandervoort in black faux lingerie bikini with white gloves and boots with black laces. Blonde hair piled on the crown of her head in a top knot. Two eye each other quietly during ring instructions. Then they tap gloves and go their corners. Bell rings.

R1: Pausini pressing in close to Vandervoort. Pounding hooks lifted up hard into Laura V’s ribs and belly. Vandervoort answers the challenge and gives Laura’s midsection a sustained attack of short hard rights and lefts. The two Lauras face to face and toe to toe as they hammer away. Then Pausini finds Vandervoort’s solar plexus and four successive hooks send Laura V. stumbling back, bent forward in pain. Vandervoort forcing herself to stand to try to hold off Pausini and they battle down to the bell. Close round, but the Italian singer wins it!

R2: Laura V. goes for Laura P.’s jaw as the new round begins. Solid cracking right and left spins Pausini’s head one way and then the other. Then Vandervoort works over Pausini’s breasts with first side to side lefts and rights, then straight shots to crush Pausini’s mammaries in their cups.
Laura P. retreats, but does throw up a barrage of jabs that keep Laura V. from overwhelming her. Pausini in retreat, bobbing and weaving now to make herself less of a target, but Vandervoort dogged in pursuit to the bell. Round wide to Laura V.

R3: Pausini roughed up in the previous round now goes on the attack early. She ducks down as she comes in on Vandervoort, then pops up with a driving uppercut to the blonde’s chin. Laura V sent slipping backwards, just barely staying up on trembling legs. Laura P. comes in swinging but Laura V has her mitts up to block further head shots. Pausini shifts her fire to Vandervoort body and Laura V, punches right back. Now they are again going at each other to the body at point blank range, but this battle of attrition rages evenly down to the bell. However, Laura P’s early work in the round gets her a narrow victory on the judges’ cards.

R4: Laura Vandervoort and Laura Pausini out promptly and head for the center of the ring. Laura P. eager to go after Laura’s head and lunges forward with her right hand cocked. However Vandervoort ready for the move, ducks away and Pausini;s right whistles by blonde’s ear. Laura V then strikes back HARD with a right of her own that NAILS Laura P on the chin. Pausini staggered, arms drop to her sides and Vandervoort adds another SMASH to the chin! Laura Pausini’s legs fly out from under her AND DOWN LAURA P GOES! Pausini lands on her back and sprawls out, looking up with her eyelashes fluttering and looking glassy-eyed. Laura V wastes no time in getting to the neutral corner. Referee moves in and starts to count. Pausini comes out of her stupor and somehow makes it to her feet by “NINE!” Referee allows the fight to continue. Laura V then move in and quickly drives Laura P back towards the ropes. Pausini tries to escape by sliding along the ropes, but Vandervoort now battering Laura V’s head from side to side as ringsiders scream at the referee to stop the massacre. AND THE REF JUMPS IN! Official cradles Laura Pausini to safety, even though Laura P is mumbling for him not to stop the fight and it was clearly the correct decision.

THE WINNER: LAURA VANDERVOORT DEFEATS LAURA PAUSINI TKO4!

After: “It sure feels great to win again,” says a weary, but triumphant Laura Vandervoort. “Pausini didn’t make it easy. She can punch, but fortunately, I was able to hang in there ad punch her to a stoppage. No, I don’t know what’s next for me. I wasn’t expecting this one so I am just going to wait and see what comes my way.”

Laura Pausini understandably distressed at her defeat: “I am sorry I was not able to bring my fans the win they—and myself—o deeply desire.” (When she leaves the arena, there is a delegation of her fans waving their “PAUSINI POWER!” and “WE LOVE YOU LAURA P.” signs and clear her. She has tears in her eyes as she stops to sign autograhs and personally thank them for their support.

Result not a surprise, but Laura Pausini might have a future in Cougar fighting. She can still hit hard, it asnt enough against a younger veteran boxer like Laura Vandervoort. A needed win for Laura V who needs more of them to regain FCBA credibility lot in her 10 fight losing streak. Fans are eager to see if she can build on this win.
