Before:

Elite bantamweight action sees the Lioness Club’s Minka Kelly take on Fates’ Elizabeth Olsen. Kelly carries an impressive 13 fight win streak into tonight while Olsen is looking to bounce back from a pair of losses in June that probably cost her a shot at the bantamweight title. It’s the first time these two girls have met, and they are both excited about the prospect.

“Minka’s been a dominant fighter in the FCBA for years, a surefire Hall of Famer.” Elizabeth tells the press, “But I’m not looking to go easy on her. I’m going to do my best and get back on the winning track.”

Minka smiles, “That’s why I’m excited to fight you tonight, Liz. You fight hard, had two years of free agency, but are a force at Fates. You may not have won a title yet, but you’re in contention, and getting impressive wins. May the better woman win.”

Olsen and Kelly stand and embrace before heading their separate ways, keeping the press conference pleasant between the two of them.

Elizabeth Olsen is the first girl to make her way out for the fight, the Avenger removing her robe to reveal a silver sports bra and black trunks with black gloves, her hair in a bun for the fight. Olsen pays no attention to the crowd, just focusing on where Kelly will emerge.

Moments later, the future Hall of Fame inductee steps out and makes her way towards the ring. Like her foe, she’s all business and ignores the crowd, stepping into the ring and removing her robe to reveal a blue sports bra and matching trunks with red gloves for the event. The two girls touch gloves, then back off as the ref calls for the bell and ten rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:

Minka and Elizabeth cautiously exit their corners, both trying to get a sense for their opponent. Neither girl has a reach advantage over her foe, and the two girls start testing their foe’s guard. Minka lands a pair of quick blows off of Lizzie’s gloves, and the younger actress responds with a quick right that gets the older actress in her jaw. Olsen follows up into Kelly’s body, but Minka is quick on the response, digging a left into her flank. The Avenger retreats and plants her feet before connecting with a solid left, but Kelly again responds with a strong counter that prevents the Fates girl from getting too much momentum early on, and the two girls end up briefly exchanging blows from short range. Olsen steps back and fires off a short right that gets Kelly just below her left eye in the final seconds of the round before the bell rings. It’s a close round, but it goes to Elizabeth on points.

Round 2:

The second round starts with both actresses circling each other. Olsen throws the first flurry of blows, a one-two combo that thumps into Kelly’s gloves. Minka counterpunches, getting a short right into Lizzie’s face, forcing the Avenger to give up ground as the veteran fighter advances. Minka follows up with a left that bounces harmlessly off of the Fates girl’s guard, but she buries a left into her torso. Olsen takes a step back and plants her feet before firing back, tagging Minka in her ribs and stopping the older fighter’s progress. Lizzie follows up with another strike to Minka’s ribs, but Kelly hits the Fates girl in her nose as she looks to capitalize. Kelly knocks Olsen onto her back foot, but she can never string together her blows as Olsen counterpunches. The round comes to an end, with Minka winning the second on points, close.

Round 3:

Kelly and Olsen continue by circling each other, trading jabs and feints as the fight resumes. Neither girl is able to get their blows through the other’s guard, and the two shift their focus to the other’s body. Minka and Liz both land a pair of blows to the other’s ribs before Kelly finds an overhand right that gets past Olsen’s guard, forcing the Fates girl backwards. Lizzie plants her feet and drives a right into Minka’s ribs in response and the two girls scrap from close range. Olsen eventually clinches Kelly as the older girl lays two blows into the younger actress’ body. The referee separates the two girls and the round continues, with both trading blows but neither is able to get an edge over the other as they are trading blows evenly. The judges determine that by the end of the round, Minka takes it on points thanks to her early aggression.

Round 4:

The fourth starts with the action being more free flowing between the two as Kelly initiates blows while Elizabeth focuses on the counter. Minka hammers a right into Lizzie’s gloves and the Fates girl slips a right into the older fighter’s body. Olsen digs in a left before retreating, avoiding any follow ups from Kelly and narrowly missing a left from her foe. Minka cautiously steps towards Liz, feinting left and baiting her opponent, striking Lizzie just below her eyes. Kelly lands a follow up into Olsen’s chest, and the Fates girl retaliates with a left as she was ready for the body blow. Lizzie steps back and connects with a right to Minka’s nose, knocking the older actress backwards, but Kelly is quick on the recovery and stops Olsen’s advance with a well-placed right. The round comes to an end and the two girls return to their corners, with Olsen evening the fight up after four.

Round 5:

Lizzie picking up steam as she gets out of her corner, hitting Minka with a right before following up with a left. Kelly drops back and plants her feet only for Olsen to split her gloves and drive a right into her chin. Minka retreats but Liz follows up with lefts and rights to the veteran’s body, and Kelly has no choice but to clinch and force a break. Olsen keeps up the tempo after the break and takes a right to her cheek just below her left eye. Minka follows up with strikes at Elizabeth’s head, but the Avenger protects herself and Kelly turns her focus to the younger girl’s body. Olsen plants her feet and crushes a blow into Kelly’s midriff, nearly causing her to clinch again. Lizzie goes for Minka’s head, but the older brunette has her guard up and blocks the blows. The bell rings sending both girls back to their corners, and it’s another round to Olsen.

Round 6:

Olsen picks up where she left off, hammering Kelly and forcing the older brunette to keep her guard up nearly constantly. Lizzie picks around Minka’s guard, hitting a right into her foe’s left side before tagging her jaw with a right book – and Olsen’s legs buckle as Kelly drills her with a straight right to the chin! Kelly finds her counter and before Olsen can get her gloves back in front of her face, Minka drives a left-right combo right into Lizzie’s jaw and down goes Olsen! Kelly backs off as Olsen falls to the canvas, the Avenger breathing heavily as she gets to all fours. The ref counts out six, and Lizzie quickly reaches for the ropes, pulling herself up to beat the count. The ref checks in on Olsen before waving Kelly back in, and the action continues. Minka presses Elizabeth, but the Fates girl has her guard up to block the blows and makes it to the bell, but not without absorbing a series of body blows. Minka takes the round on points, wide, as she gets the first knockdown of the fight.

Round 7:

Minka is now the girl who picks up where she left off, drilling Elizabeth’s ribs with rights and lefts to start the round. Olsen stands her ground, counterpunching whenever she finds the opportunity and finds a straight right into Kelly’s mouth, stopping the veteran fighter. Minka retreats before Elizabeth can follow up, and the two girls start circling each other. Lizzie feints left and Minka reads her feint like a book, blocking the right – but Elizabeth follows up with an actual left strike across Minka’s jaw and the older brunette is reeling! Kelly gets her gloves up but Olsen goes right for her body, drilling a right to her solar plexus. Minka stays up, but she’s grimacing in pain, and Lizzie once again picks around Minka’s guard. Kelly retreats and plants her feet, throwing a lightning quick right at Olsen’s head – but the Avenger gets out of the way and drills a left hook into Minka’s jaw before connecting with a right uppercut that drops Minka to the canvas! Kelly rolls around on the canvas before reaching for the ropes, clawing her way towards the edge of the ring. She makes a desperate lunge for the ropes – and falls on her face, the ref reaching ten before she lifts her arm up and grabs the rope. Your winner by KO7, Elizabeth Olsen!

After:

The crowd sits in a moment of stunned silence as Olsen triumphantly raises her arms as she puts an end to Kelly’s 13 fight unbeaten streak before erupting into applause. Lizzie smiles as she returns to her corner, not over-celebrating as she keeps an eye on Minka, the Lioness girl now sitting on a stool, and the Avenger goes over to the older fighter once Kelly’s had a minute. Minka gets up and embraces Elizabeth, and the crowd applauds as Olsen raises Kelly’s right hand to the crowd. Olsen claps her hands, hugging Kelly again before exiting the ring.

“Minka’s a hall of famer. It was an honor to fight her.” Olsen tells the press. “She’s going to get another 10 fights – I can guarantee that.”

When asked about her own aspirations, Olsen keeps her response brief. “It’s good to win after losing twice in June. I’m still looking for that elusive bantamweight title, and I hope beating Minka puts me back into the conversation.”

Kelly talks to the press a few minutes later, “Obviously it’s heartbreaking to lose. Especially when I was on a 13 fight winning streak. But streaks are meant to be broken, and I have to congratulate Elizabeth on it. I’ll be back winning fights – just you watch.”
