Intro:
Tonight sees Maisie Williams and Fiona Wade step into the ring in Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena, with both hoping to make big waves in the flyweight division this year.

Maisie is 21 years old; she stands 5'1 and holds a record of 8 wins, all by knockout with 4 defeats.

Fiona is 39 years old; she also stands 5'1 and holds a record of 5 wins, all by knockout with 6 defeats.

The fighters were interviewed at their gyms, with Maisie sparring with Ivana Baquero, both smiling after the bell rings to end the session.

Getting out the ring to chat to the press, Maisie tells them "I'm looking forwards to making this a big year for me, I feel I am getting stronger and better all round as a fighter getting to spar with the likes of Elizabeth (Henstridge) and Ivana has helped so much"

When asked about Fiona; she replies "she is just a tune up for me, it's been a few months sadly since my last fight, I don't see her giving me much trouble and I aim to build up to bigger fights"

She adds "I have some unfinished business to take care of this year, Emilia Clarke and me need to have a fight to see whose the better fighter, I need to show her I am the best on the Game of Thrones set"

Fiona meanwhile finishes her cardio work before she heads to the press, all smiles as she tells them "new year, new me guys"

When asked about Maisie, she replies "that little kid from Game of Thrones is going to get a lesson from me, when I beat her she can go whistle for all I care as she ain't anything special"

She continues "I have always said I won't have a long career, this fight is the beginning of my road to claiming the flyweight title before I retire"

Fight night; Maisie is out first with Taryn Terrell and Eva Carneiro by her side, she gives the crowd a show of her hand speed before she begins to head down the aisle to the ring.

She is wearing a red sports bra with matching trunks, shoes, while her gloves are red with a white thumb, her hair is up in a ponytail.

Getting into the ring; Maisie raises her right fist on her way to her corner, shadow boxing to warm up as Taryn tells her to use her skills to outbox her opponent.

Now Fiona comes out with her coach, she bangs her gloves together before she jogs down to the ring with an all business look on her face.

She is wearing a white sports bra, white trunks with a black waistband, black gloves and white shoes, her own hair is also in a ponytail.

Climbing into the ring; Fiona gives the fans a quick wave, but is quick to head to her corner to get warmed up, her coach drilling her on what they expect of her tonight.

The fighters both come to the center of the ring, squaring up as the referee goes through their instructions, their eyes are locked in am intense stare down.

When asked to touch gloves; they thud them together before they turn back to their corners, once there the bell is rung to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:
The fighters start off with probing punches, testing the others reflexes as Maisie shows herself to be able to dodge the punches coming at her.
It's Maisie starting stronger as she lands the cleaner shots, looking to have the faster hands as she dances around Fiona.
Who changes tactics to surprise Maisie; drilling a jab into the face of the youngster as she steps in close to work away with punches to the body.
Both women trade on the inside; throwing flurries as the crowd enjoy the fast start from the fighters, who are grunting with effort as they battle it out.
Maisie stepping back to open up space to throw a two punch combo into her opponent's face, looking to keep the range to land clean shots.
But Fiona deflects a straight so she can come in close, she is clearly looking to stop the mobility of her opponent by staying in close.
The round ends with both women jogging past the other to their corners, both sets of coaches seem happy with the efforts of their fighters.

Round 2:
Fiona looks to pressure Maisie from the off, the youngster though won't be caught too easily as she dances side to side, flicking out single shots into her opponent's face.
The Emmerdale star feints with a left, as Maisie steps to the right she eats a punch across her face, with Fiona stepping forwards to knock Maisie onto the ropes.
Maisie is forced on the defensive as Fiona works in tight, targeting the body of Williams with hooks to make her groan out.
A shove opens up space for Maisie to escape off the ropes, the fighters trading punches as Fiona marches forwards to keep the pressure on her opponent.
Making Maisie be stuck near the ropes as Fiona has the center of the ring, it is stopping Maisie being able to use her upper body to dodge punches, with her having to rely on her guard instead.
The round ends with Fiona turning to her corner with her coach nodding at her over a successful round, wiping sweat from the head of Fiona as she didn't take much damage.

Round 3:
Again Fiona surprises pundits by coming out quickly, forcing Maisie into fire fights from the bell, which seems to be much more comfortable for Fiona over the younger fighter.
The older fighter is the one pushing the pace, taking the center of the ring as she slams punches into the top of Williams head to keep her on the back foot.
Maisie does have success as she dips under a straight to land a straight to the body, then moves into space so she can get her footwork going.
The fight moving around the ring as Maisie looks to stay off those ropes, with both landing punches in gaps in the others defences.
Till Fiona uses her left to shove Maisie to the face, landing a right across her face to knock her onto her heels, Wade drives the Game of Thrones star onto the ropes.
Where they slug it out in the dying seconds of the round, Maisie's head gets knocked back by two punches, the bell rings to end the round soon enough.
Fiona winning another round in many peoples eyes to show that she is here to win, not make up the numbers as the Maisie fans probably thought.
Across the ring Taryn tells Maisie to step it up, she clearly doesn't believe that Maisie is giving her best so far, though Maisie doesn't look that happy about that as Eva washes her face down with it being marked up.

Round 4:
It's Fiona starting off strong once again, she is keeping Maisie off balance with little nudges when she gets in close, allowing her to drive her opponent backwards.
The younger fighter is being kept near the ropes still, forcing her into exchanging flurry of punches with Wade as the crowd seem to be loving the classic flyweight exchanges.
The Girls Friday corner isn't right now; Maisie eats an overhand right that opens her up to two more punches across her face, forcing her to clinch up.
After they are broken up; Fiona looks to keep on marching forwards, except she misses with a straight as Maisie sidesteps her, a counter right instead crashes onto the front of Fiona's face.
Suddenly Maisie comes to life; shocking Fiona as she rifles combinations into the face of the older fighter.
Who ends up feeling the ropes on her back, Fiona is covering up as Maisie picks her punches, going to work on the body with hooks, till she opens enough space up the top to land there.
The round ends with both women scowling at the other, tempers are rising as the referee is needed to order both to return to their corners.
Sitting on her stool; Maisie gets a nod from Taryn, that was what the coach wanted from her fighter as they discuss what to do next.
Fiona's camp on the other hand remind her that things have mostly been rosy, just focus on the game plan and Maisie will fall apart.

Round 5:
Both women exchange combinations at the center of the ring, they nearly clash heads as Fiona steps inside to work.
But Maisie steps back with a right smacking across the side of her opponent's head, giving the youngster time to get on her bike.
Things are starting to look harder for Fiona, she is still getting in good shots when she can move in close range, those moments though are becoming far and few between.
As Maisie is getting her footwork up to speed, allowing her to jab and counter punch when she spots openings, which are showing up as Fiona is missing more.
A right smacks across Fiona's face to knock her back a step, Maisie goes to work near the waistband of her opponent's trunks, making Wade gasp out as she tries to match the intensity of Williams by trading back.
Fiona though has to retreat as Maisie steps forwards with her punches finding a home through the mitts of Wade, knocking her head back.
The round ends with Maisie heading back to her corner to see a smiling Taryn, knowing that Maisie now is in full gear.
Something Fiona is finding hard to deal with as she gets her gumshield taken out, she is breathing a little harder as her coach tells her to start clinching more to disrupt Maisie's flow, then hurt her when the opportunity shows itself.

Round 6:
The round kicks off with both women trading near the center of the ring, Maisie continues to be up on her toes moving around Fiona.
Who steps in with a left cross that Maisie dips under, THE OVERHAND RIGHT SLAMS ACROSS FIONA'S TEMPLE, THAT TURNS HER LEGS TO JELLY AS TWO HOOKS KNOCK HER ON HER BACK!
The Williams fans come to life as she jogs over to a neutral corner, 1..2...3...4.. Fiona is trying to turn but 5...6...7.. As she tries to push herself up she falls back down to the canvas, 8...9...10 that is all she wrote!

Winner Maisie Williams KO Round 6

After:
Another win for Maisie in her young career, she celebrates by climbing the bottom rope of the corner she is in to flex her right arm with a cheeky grin.

While Fiona has to be helped back to her corner, her legs still look rubbery as she shakes her head to try to clear out the cobwebs.

Taryn admits to Maisie she wanted to fire her up when she returns to her corner, with Maisie nodding as she says "it was true though I started slow and if I do that in future I will be punished" making Taryn smile as she is seeing Maisie maturing all the time.

Over in the other corner; Fiona looks frustrated with herself, she was controlling the fight till a few little mistakes turned into one big one.

Her coach doesn't berate her as they know that it was a great performance that another day would have seen Fiona win, the coach tells Fiona to keep her chin up.

Maisie meanwhile gets her hand raised by the referee, she is marked up but beaming as she blows a kiss to the fans for their support.

While Fiona leaves the ring to not much fanfare, she'll be looking to bounce back quickly as plenty of people will want to test themselves against her.

Maisie on the other hand is looking for bigger tests, she has made it known she wants Emilia Clarke and Stella Hudgens, who else should expect a call from Maisie in the next 12 months?
