Danielle Harold (Marti's Maulers) 9-6 8 KO'S vs Sacha Parkinson (Double A Boxing) 17-14 16 KO'S

Danielle Harold knew she was in Shona McGarty's shadows in the Maulers bantams, and she resolved to change this.

Her fellow soap blonde Sacha seemed a good place to start her career rebuild, and an expectant crowd packed into the Manchester Arena.

Home town girl Sacha first up and she looked stunning in a red and white striped bikini, along with a pair of butt-hugging daisy dukes, her blonde hair hanging loose as she shadow-punched her red mitts while dancing on her red booted feet.

Danielle next up and as ever she was escorted by Jill Halfpenny the bottled blonde opting for a more sombre outfit of red crop top and blue shorts, her hair braided in a tight knot, black gloves and boots completed her look.

Briefest of glove touches and the ref signals for kick-off.

10 rounds of bantamweight action

Round 1
Cagey start as these soap rivals felt each other out.

Sacha as expected trying to use her reach and fight from distance.

Danielle relying on her speed and quick hands.

Both finding joy as they traded right jabs to the head.

The home crowd baying for blood but Sacha not getting suckered into a slugfest with the smaller Danielle.

She worked the ring to give herself room to pick her shots, and Danielle forced to defend.

Patience proving a virtue for the Londoner as she weaves away from Sacha's left hook, and clubs the older girl with a solid right.

Sacha forced to cover as Danielle aims a hook to the head,Sacha's red gloves block this offensive and she clips the smaller girl with a nice jab.

Round 2
High class bout in this round both finding their rhythm as they exchange steady jabs, before swapping rights to the head.

Danielle fighting hard but Sacha's reach coming into play the longer the round went, and she was able to pick a frustrated Danielle off from distance.

The Eastender did attempt to get in close but Sacha's strong jab keeping her at bay.

Sacha in control at the bell she contentedly took her stool.

Jill geeing up her fighter in the opposite corner.

Round 3
The opening minute of this round showed Sacha still dictating the tempo,as she easily fought from afar.

Danielle unable to get in close to utilise her hand speed.as the Salford girl used her nous to foil any raids by the more inexperienced Danielle.

Sacha growing in confidence by the second, but as she came forwards,Danielle launched a left hook to Sacha's breadbasket.

The unexpected blow sent Sacha reeling.and Danielle pounced and followed up with a lovely right to the head.

Sacha suddenly in a world of pain as she grimly kept her guard high, and clenched to buy recovery time.

Danielle trying to shrug Sacha off but the wily blonde tied up her opponent forcing the ref to intervene.

Sacha now more circumspect and she reverted to type and led with a stiff jab from range.

Danielle buoyed by her moral victory and she upped the pace her footwork helping her score to Sacha's abs again.

Now both warming to the task as they traded hooks mid-ring,both firing to the other's pretty face.

And that's the bell.

Round 4
Battle well and truly joined now as they clash centre ring each determined to finish their rival off.

Sacha trusting her steady jab, well Danielle worked Sacha's body with hooks to the midriff.

Neither able to find the money shot though.

And they backed off once more, trading jabs now and then, waiting for the moment to strike.

Not this round anyway,as they retire to their respective corners cursing the other under their breath.

Round 5
Game of cat and mouse as each waited for the other to falter, this slower style suiting Sacha as she was able to control Danielle's attacks much easier.

And crucially her constant jabs were wearing the opposing blonde down,Danielle's quicksilver feet not dancing out of range like earlier.

Halfway into the round Sacha lined up a cracking right that fizzed into Danielle's nose, the younger blonde stumbling back, but Sacha tracking her movements and cutting off the ring, allowing her to land a left to the body and another left to Danielle's bloodied face.

Now the Eastender was playing for the bell as she maintained a tight guard and willed her leaden feet to move.

Despite her best efforts she still shelled a few nice combos from a rampaging Sacha.

Who beamed at the bell, knowing she was in charge now.

Round 6
Sacha showing her class now as she bossed this round her steady work-rate forcing Danielle to defend.

The earlier exuberance draining from Danielle's pores as she was peppered by an incessant volley of head punches she defended herself the best she could but a good number still pierced her high guard,in the dying seconds Sacha drills a right hook smack into Danielle's liver, crippling the Londoner.

Thankfully for Danielle the bell rang seconds later, and she crawled to her corner.

Where Jill was waiting to patch her up,Jill towelled the perspiring Mauler down but that liver shot was a killer.

And the solitary 60 seconds was little time for Danielle to compose herself.

Round 7
Sacha bounced out of her corner, straight onto Danielle who was still reeling from the previous round.

A powerful right from the Corrie star stuns Danielle and she sinks to her knees, her bottled blonde skull thudding at the impact.

As a delighted Sacha wheels away the ref starts his count.

1,2,3,4,5,6.

Danielle slowly clambers to her feet.

The ref examining the blondes glazed green eyes,he looks at her glassy expression and waves it off.

Sacha punching the air euphorically her first taste of success in more than 4 years.

Could she mount another title charge time will tell but this was a big step in the right direction.

As for Danielle she needs wins and fast or Tilly Keeper will be usurping her as the Maulers other bantam hope.
