Intro:
Now it is main event time here in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, for the first time Scottish actress Karen Gillan and American model Brooklyn Decker clash, both women want to win to move a step closer towards a FCBA welterweight title shot.

Heading into the clash a press conference was held, both women stepping onto the stage smiling as they walk to the center, getting serious as they pose with a fist raised to the others chin, Karen in a navy blue dress with matching heels, Brooklyn in a black dress with matching heels, the fighters then shake hands as they show each other respect, going to their seats on opposite sides as a podium is placed where they just stood.

Karen is given the nod to head to the podium first, she waves to the journalists assembled, taking a deep breath, Karen tells the press "it is great to be back in front of you guys before a fight, I needed a break after losing the Diamond Boxing tournament, that was a wonderful but emotionally draining experience, now it's time to get back on the road" looking fresh after her time out the ring.

"Don't worry Brooklyn I haven't forgotten you haha, it is an honour to finally share a ring with you, I have always enjoyed watching you fight, I need to test myself again to see where I am right now, if I can beat Brooklyn then I know I can be a world champion" adds Karen as she nods to her opponent, then gives Decker the podium to speak.

Up goes Brooklyn with her usual swagger to her step, saying "thanks for the kind words Karen, I respect you too after all these years, you are still as tough as nails, I wanted you to beat Camille (Kostek) by the way haha" Karen joking "you and me both" as everyone laughs.

Then Brooklyn gets serious as she says "but you mentioned the world title, I am working hard in the gym to regain the belt and as much as I like you, when we step into the ring I am there to win, I will do everything to win when that bell rings, so may the best woman win" Karen getting up as both shake hands in agreement, eyes full of determination already.

Fight night, out first is Karen with her coach Ana Beatriz Barros beside her, the ever popular redhead gets a loud cheer, she waves to the crowd before heading down the aisle, wearing a black sports bra with red trim, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, her hair is braided as she steps into the ring, shadow boxing to warm up in her corner as she looks hyped to start.

Here comes Brooklyn now with Claudia Schiffer beside her, she also gets a loud reception as she bangs her white gloves together before beginning her march down the aisle, she is wearing a white sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, her hair is in a ponytail as she steps through the ropes into the ring, taking a breath before stretching, Brooklyn looks in phenomenal shape.

Coming together at the center of the ring, both fighters lock eyes as the smiles are all gone, now is the time to show they deserve to be in the title hunt over the other, they respectful touch gloves when prompted to, heading to their corners looking focused, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" Kicking off behind their jabs as they circle, stepping in and out of range as they get a feel for each others skills, Karen landing a good one-two through the gloves of Brooklyn, when she tries to press forwards Brooklyn catches her with a left cross to the jaw, they split apart and reset.

After the opening thirty seconds they start to land more punches in volume, Karen landing another two punch combo through the mitts of her opponent, taking a grazing right across her face, she takes the center of the ring as her hand speed gives Brooklyn a few little problems, namely good punches square into her face.

But as Decker is getting comfortable, a right cross lands on her jaw as her left hand drops a little too low, a double jab follows square into the face of Karen as she finds herself now being pegged back towards the middle of the ring; missing with a jab, Gillan takes a right to the body followed by a left across her face.

The final minute sees Brooklyn pressing Karen around the outside of the ring, the Scottish fighter covering up more tightly as Brooklyn is switching up her targets nicely, drilling to the body before landing several clean digs up top into the face of Gillan, at the bell both now have a feel for each others talents as they jog back to their corners.

Round 2:
It looks like Brooklyn is off the blocks the quicker as she catches Karen with a jab/right cross combo early on, a left hook smacks Karen onto her jaw as she is finding herself being driven back into a neutral corner, needing to hold onto the hard body model, referee breaking them apart to continue.

Doubling up her jab to make it harder for Brooklyn to drive through her, Karen looks a little more relaxed as she peppers the face of her opponent, stepping more side to side to keep out the firing line of the hard hitting blonde, Brooklyn stalking after her around the ring.

Soon enough Decker cuts off the ring, forcing a heated exchange between them as the crowd is roaring, heads getting snapped back by these hard hitting punches, Brooklyn slips under a right cross to bang in two hooks under the ribs of her opponent, the overhand left that follows doesn't land flush as Gillan gets her hand up in time.

It does though force Karen back as Brooklyn muscles her into a corner, banging away to the abs of the Fates fighter, Ana yelling at her fighter before Karen can finally get a good hold of Decker in a clinch, the blonde pressing her right into the corner to make things uncomfortable before they are split apart.

At the bell it is another good finish to the round for Brooklyn, she is looking less tense as she sits on her stool talking to Claudia, Ana meanwhile is telling Karen to relax and pick her punches better, massaging the arms and legs of Karen to loosen her up.

Round 3:
Expecting Brooklyn to charge forwards, Karen boxes more on the back foot, showing her impressive footwork that nearly got her the Diamond Boxing trophy, she counter punches Brooklyn with a clean right across the jaw, a double jab follows onto the chin of Brooklyn to knock her back a step.

While Brooklyn lands several good shots, she is being picked off with straight punches into her face, Karen dancing around the former champion, looking to have her rhythm down with her combos as starts to land two to three punches at a time as she is growing into the round more.

But Brooklyn is a top fighter herself, after half the round has passed by, she slips a jab to pound in a left to the body followed by a short straight into the face of her opponent, she then moves in closer to start working her backwards, short digging punches landing to the body as Gillan finds herself on the ropes, clinching up to force the referee to break them up.

Once she has room again Karen catches Brooklyn with another one-two combo before moving to range, Decker starting to land more as she keeps the press on, problem for her is Karen is working her socks off on the back foot, keeping Brooklyn from powering through her with her punches landing flush.

When the round comes to an end Karen nods to Ana with small smile, clearly feeling better as she finally seems to have gotten on top of things, while Brooklyn doesn't look too worried, even as her cheeks are starting to be marked up, Claudia wiping her down as they chat.

Round 4:
Coming out her corner more on her toes, Karen certainly seems to have a spring in her step as she doubles up her jab, outworking Brooklyn early as they model doesn't seem able to really get a target on her right now, with another jab/straight combo finding a home onto the face of the blonde, a small cut forms on the bridge of Brooklyn's nose.

Something that Karen targets as the opening minute is nearly all her, Brooklyn only really able to land grazing punches, till Karen gets a little too one dimensional, Brooklyn ducks under a jab to hammer in three short digging body punches, nearly clashing her head into Karen's chin as she drives forwards.

Needing to nudge back Brooklyn before her back touches the ropes, Karen moves away from them, she is finding herself getting stuck in more firefights as Decker won't be kept at bay for too long, crowd on it's feet with duelling chants ringing out as sweat starts to be knocked off brows.

While it looks like Brooklyn is winning this exchanges, she loads up too much on a right hook that Karen spots coming, stepping out the way of the hook, Karen lands a counter left across the face of her opponent, followed by another two punches square into the blondes face to make her back off.

Final moments of the round sees Brooklyn shell up as Karen starts to come after her behind more combination punching attacks, till the bell rings to end the round, Karen looking to have really found her mojo after a slow start to the ring, any ring rust she had seems to have been shaken off.

Round 5:
Trading more punches in bunches as Brooklyn doesn't seem to want to let Karen out work her, the opening moments of the round see hectic exchanges as both plant their feet more, Karen getting dragged more into Brooklyn's style of fight as sweat with a little blood from Decker's cut goes flying.

Karen lands a clean one-two into the face of Brooklyn to back her up a step, as she tries to land a sweeping right hook, Brooklyn now is the one to see it coming, slipping under it to hammer in a counter right to the solar plexus of Karen to make her groan out, A LEFT HOOK TO THE SIDE OF KAREN'S HEAD SENDS HER DOWN TO HER LEFT SIDE!

Jogging to the neutral corner with a nod to her coach, Brooklyn looking a little relieved to have knocked down Karen, 1...2...3....4.. Karen turns to all fours, shaking her head as she looks at canvas, 5....6... Pushing to her haunches, 7....8.. Karen pushes herself to her feet, gloves up as she shows she can fight on.

They resume fighting with Brooklyn now with the wind in her sails, Karen still looks a little winded from the body shot, especially as Brooklyn tests out her body with straight shots, Karen clinching up with Brooklyn to slow her down, referee needed to break apart the two fighters.

At the bell Brooklyn pumps her right fist in the air towards her supporters in the crowd, knowing she has made a big statement this round, Karen meanwhile takes a deep breath as she admits to being caught out by Brooklyn, Ana checking she is OK, getting a firm nod in reply that makes her smile.

Round 6:
Back out they come with Brooklyn firmly pressing the action, stepping in more as Karen boxes more defensively, a double jab smacks Brooklyn on her forehead to snap her head back, it doesn't deter her from crouching down to pound in two hooks to the body.

A straight catches Karen on her chin, back onto the ropes goes the redhead as Brooklyn bodies up to her, whacking in some good body shots till she gets dragged into a front headlock, referee pries them apart as Brooklyn looks annoyed at being headlocked like that, quick to get back on the attack when they resume.

It seems like Brooklyn is letting her temper get to her as she misses with left hook, getting a counter right that lands across her nose, things starting to turn around as Karen slams in another two punches right into the models face to knock her back onto her heels, Karen swinging in short hooks to the body when she can't find a way through the guard of Decker.

Pushing back Karen, the fighters let their hands go on the inside as they plant their feet, final moments in the round has the fighters both groaning out with each hit, at the bell they shove apart, nodding to each other as if to say you want to go harder then we can, sitting on their stools getting washed down and patched up.

Round 7:
Brooklyn looking to keep the heat on Karen, they trade hard shots as they open up, with Karen able to step back out the way of a left cross to hammer in a straight to that cut on Bridget's nose, a left cross causes blood now to run from Decker's nostrils as Karen keeps her at bay.

Back goes Brooklyn as she tries to catch out Karen, instead she finds herself being caught on her nose as Karen feints more, pressing back the blonde to the ropes, Karen now has her shelling up as she swings in more hooks, planting her feet as she looks to really hurt Brooklyn, getting clinched up by Decker as the referee needs to split them up.

Karen this time is the one getting caught as she comes forwards, a right cross catching her around her left eye, some swelling forming around the eye, with Brooklyn now turning the tables, driving back Karen towards a neutral corner, banging into the body of the Marvel actress, making Gillan groan as she grimaces with each hit till Karen clinches up.

Both have been hurt as they trade shots, wincing when they get hit cleanly, Brooklyn trying to muscle back Karen, gets caught with a left cross then an uppercut knocks back the blondes head, final moments of the round sees Brooklyn being driven into a corner by Karen, the bell rings with Karen getting a thumbs up from Ana, Brooklyn wiping some blood from under her nose, Claudia cleaning her down before working on patching her up.

Round 8:
Back out they come a little slower, Karen feinting as she looks to find her way to her opponent's nose, Brooklyn though is the one to slam in a right across the face of Karen, trying to back her up as Karen covers up, three short punches dig into the body of the redhead as she groans out.

A left cross catches Brooklyn to the side of her head, a straight then lands flush on that nose, Brooklyn moaning out as she backs up, a double jab follows to snap back the head of Decker, she swings a wild left hook that misses, ANOTHER DOUBLE JAB LANDS TO SET UP A CLEAN RIGHT HOOK ON THE BUTTON, BROOKLYN COLLAPSES ONTO HER BACK!

Raising her right arm in the air as she walks to the neutral corner, Karen looks satisfied she caught Brooklyn beautifully there, 1...2...3... Brooklyn groans as her right leg bends, 4...5...6... Turning to her left side as blood drips from her nose to the canvas, 7...8.. Brooklyn isn't moving anymore, 9....10 it's over!

Winner Karen Gillan KO Round 8

After:
Raising her arms in the air as she looks to the lights, Karen smiles as she overcomes another top contender this year, she then walks back to her corner to an embrace from Ana, who looks so proud of her friend and fighter, both talking about how hard a fight it was and how wonderful Karen was to come out on top.

Claudia has helped Brooklyn onto her stool at the center of the ring, patching up her nose as Brooklyn has tears running down her face, a dejected look on the face of the former champion, she started so well and with that fifth round knockdown it looked like she could come out on top, instead she is being consoled by her coach.

Once both are cleaned up they come to the center of the ring, Karen checking on Brooklyn, who smiles as she replies that she will be, a sporting fist bump between them as Brooklyn tells Karen "I'll beat you in the rematch" winking as Karen jokes that she'd like to see her try.

Karen's victory is official now as the referee raises her left hand into the air, Brooklyn applauding her to show her class, they nod to each other before Brooklyn with a little help steps out the ring, her supporters chanting her name as they haven't given up hope that she'll win more titles.

The winner meanwhile poses for the cameras with Ana beside her, an arm around each others waist as their other arm is flexed, both beaming as they have become the dynamic duo over the past year, the crowd chant Karen's name for a title shot as she blows them kisses, fighting back tears at that as she thanks them for their support.

Stepping out the ring with Ana, Karen has certainly proven she belongs at the top table in the welterweight division, can she complete this journey she has been on with the Fate's stable with a title win, Ana certainly thinks so as she tells Karen "you will win that title someday, they know it as I do" making Karen thank her friend.
