BEFORE: This fight could well answer the BBU flyweight title demand and Leah Perkins was on the doorstep of glory when she fell to Ewelina Lisowska in July of last year. She vows to make another run at the straps on either side of the globe which suggests she might challenge for the ACB flyweight title as well. However she needs to dispatch Geordie legend Cheryl Cole first, the notorious singer coming off nasty back-to-back defeats under FCBA banner in November. Losing to Emma Roberts & Cree Cicchino required a mental reset albeit Green & Gold's Sarah Cumming claims Cheryl hasn't quite recovered yet and this is a golden opportunity for Leah to make another elite statement!

Long dark brown hair pulled in a thick bun at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Leah does her best Cree Cicchino impression by blasting Cheryl straight up the middle as she blitzes the usually fast-starting opponent with a hooking delivery before a wild overhand nails the Geordie singer on the eye and wobbles her on the heels. Ugh! Leah cranks up the juice and slugs through the tourist's high guard until she drops Cole onto the ropes and lays it into her face even more! How about that for an elite statement. Cheryl can barely string a double together while she's getting whacked by a furious Aussie model who takes no prisoners here and keeps flying with some thick punches to neutralize any threat from the visiting opponent. Cheryl drops behind a desperate earmuff and is somehow fortunate to avoid a complete disaster but team captain Victoria Beckham is losing her mind already!

Round 2:
More slugging prowess from Perkins who challenges the former BBU champion into a back & forth rally she wins after piling a steady dose of head shots to knock the singer around the area. Cole responds with a meaningful drive up the middle but loses out on the shear volume of punches and wobbles to her heels when Leah drops a sudden harpoon on the exposed liver area. Ugh! Another quick series downstairs and Chezza bellows out on top of the ropes before swinging a desperate heave that goes nowhere. Meanwhile Leah bashes her with another uppercut drive and piles on the juice to shut Cheryl down behind a stubborn high-guard for remainder of the round. More angry looks in the English corner!

Round 3:
Cheryl storms out of her stool and lands several good shots into the model's breadbasket to finally rattle the home cage but Leah refuses to back off and leans into the tourist with a good jabbing spell. A brief clash of heads slows her down again while Cole jumps into a hectic hooking assault that nails the younger brunette on the nose. Perkins sidesteps away from a follow up effort but lets Cheryl back into a pouncing charge and has to showcase her footwork talents to stay clear of the striking zone. Chezza still nicks in several clean hits on target and bumps the local favorite into the corner where she cleans out her stomach to underline a solid comeback and ease off the pressure.

Round 4:
More of the same in the fourth, Cheryl scores a good jabbing rally early on and outworks the Aussie model down the stretch licking her with several single shots in the process. There's no one true haymaker involved but the shear number of leather landing into Leah's face grinds her to a halt and allows the Geordie stunner to bump her around the area for majority of the round. Ugh! Aussie captain Kylie Minogue begins to lose her temper and Leah's recovery effort when she's backed against the turnbuckle comes way too late to salvage the round on points. She smacks Cole in the mouth and tags her on the ear as well but has the singer barging her in the chest at the bell as things heat up a little.

Round 5:
More steam coming off both sides now as Cheryl triggers a high-octane blast but finds a similar response from the Aussie prospect who gets cut up below the left eye only to drill superior quality down the stretch. She wobbles the Geordie veteran on her heels and takes it from there spraying leather with serviceable quality to the point she leaks blood from Cole's nose! Ugh! Chezza yells out in disgust and eats immediate punishment up the middle again! She wobbles forward and fails to react when Leah NAILS her with a brutal uppercut on the jaw! DOWN GOES COLE!!! Epic shot from the home favorite and the Kooyong audience goes mental! Cheryl recovers back to her feet at six, almost too quickly for Sarah Cumming's liking while Perkins just lays more leather on target and backs the stunned singer to the corner where she drops more blood from the damaged nostrils as Chezza bellows out on top of the ropes with a whimper. Another drilling hook on the right ear half-spins the former champion on the spot and Leah SMOKES her with another vicious hook on the nose to SEND THE TOURIST DOWN FOR THE COUNT!!! Wild screams from captain Posh Spice make no difference! Chezza is counted OUT while resting on the canvas with her eyes closed!!! KO5 Leah frickin' Perkins!!!

AFTER: The home team is running riot as they claim the second victory of the night and Bonnie Sveen takes extra pleasure dragging the fallen singer by the hair so she can remove her undies and place them in the coveted urn! Victoria Beckham never felt love for Girls Aloud alumni but the old country pride is taking a beating here at Kooyong so far and Liz Hurley is ready to take the coaching charge for the bantamweight tests: "U fookin' blew ur assignement, cow!", she shoves Posh away from the English corner but it's an impossible task for the tourists to salvage The Ashes when their most decorated pick is left sleeping on the canvas!
