BEFORE:

"People keep finding out," says Joanna with a smile, "That I'm a LOT better than they think. And, Katy's about to join that club."

"I have no doubts about how good Joanna is," says a hard-eyed Katy. "I also have no doubt that I'm BETTER."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'We Run The Night' by Havana Brown and here comes the lovely Joanna Krupa."

McCarthy: "And, THIS girl not only has wins, she's ranked in the Top 40! I'm telling you, something is going ON here..."

O'Dell: "Krupa unbeaten in the FCBA this year and coming to the ring with a look of confidence. She climbs in and is helped off with the robe to reveal a baby blue number that has the crowd buzzing...and that's 'California Gurls' hammering through the arena, and that means 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry is coming to the ring..."

Tess: "I suspect, with all the changes afoot here, Perry's job might be in question. If only I could get that lucky..."

O'Dell: "Katy into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd appreciating the former Unified Lightweight Champion in that red number she likes. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Katy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Krupa beats the Dancing Hooker!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Gun platform stuff early, and that's not a surprise, because both fighters have range and both like to box from the outside. Krupa working that left hand. When she gets it on, she follows with quick, hard rights. Katy playing some angles, getting off when she gets to her spots."

McCarthy: "If Perry boxes with this girl, she'll get shut out 100-90 if not worse!"

O'Dell: "At the moment, Perry holding her own against the model. Joanna very slick, setting up everything very, very well. Katy stepping in here and there, but mostly remaining at range, doing some recon, looking for weaknesses in the older woman's defenses...and not finding many."

Cassie: "Krupa just so smooth. Hands out and back. Everything follows everything else."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Chain stuff from the older woman, and it's working very well. We're into the final fifteen seconds of what's been a competitive first. Good exchange there with both fighters landing a hard right hand, and there's the bell. It's close, but it's Krupa."

Tess: "And, Joanna has the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Krupa in rhythm now. She's popping that jab, getting it in the younger woman's face, then dropping hard right hands in behind it. Older blonde taking control of this thing with that jab. She's preempting Perry with steady, effective offense, piling up the points..."

Tess: "Really good stuff from Krupa."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's putting everything together now, and keeping Katy almost completely on the defensive. Perry waiting her turn and waiting her turn and her turn never comes. Instead, Joanna keeps rolling, firing on all cylinders at the moment and, as Tess pointed out, impressing quite a bit..."

Cassie: "Katy needs to change some things up here..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it, because, while she's landing some counters here and there, she hasn't been IN this round. Instead, it's been almost all Joanna all the time. We've got ten seconds left. GOOD right hand from Krupa in that combination, and there's the bell. Joanna. Wide."

McCarthy: "And, Krupa's up 20-18."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third starts the way the second ended, with Krupa working that left at range, but, now Katy's getting more aggressive. She's tucking the head, keeping the gloves high, working forward, banging some body. Krupa tying up in there, but Perry levers with the shoulder, thumps the midsection..."

McCarthy: "Ref needs to watch for low blows!"

O'Dell: "Perry backing up Krupa with some heavy leather and then DROPPING HER WITH A LEFT HOOK! NASTY left hook from Katy spills the older blonde to her left side! Katy quickly to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Krupa sits up at seven. Eight. To her feet at nine..."

Tess: "Wasn't sure she was getting up from that..."

O'Dell: "Ref gives her the mandatory and waves on Katy! Perry thumping out that heavy 'Front Street jab', backing the wobbly Krupa up with some hard follow-on right hands. Only fifteen seconds to go, but Katy's taking full advantage, throwing a BUNCH of hard shot at Krupa, who's backing and covering to the bell. 10-8 for Perry."

Cassie: "But, Joanna survives and is still even on the cards, 28-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth and Perry walking Krupa down behind that left hand. Katy looking to finish, and, one thing we know about Katy Perry is that she's an EXCELLENT finisher. Joanna, though, not making it easy on her. She's keeping the guard high, giving ground willingly..."

Tess: "And, staying off the ropes, at least for the moment."

O'Dell: "Indeed, she is. This is veteran savvy by the older blonde. For Perry's part, she's showing a lot of patience, setting up everything, not getting sloppy, using the heavy left jab over and over again and DROPPING KRUPA WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT TO THE CHIN! OH, WHAT A SHOT!"

Cassie: "That might do it..."

O'Dell: "Perry again to a neutral corner. Joanna down on her back, staring up at the referee. Count at three. Four. Five. Krupa rolls to her belly at six. Seven. She's pushing up to all fours at eight and SINKING BACK DOWN TO THE CANVAS AT NINE! TEN! It's OVER! Joanna can't beat the count and it's OVER! And your winner by KO4 is 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

McCarthy: "Lucky! All night, Weirdo's Hookers have been LUCKY!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Cassie Scerbo!"

Cassie: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and, Katy, some early trouble, but you got to her."

Katy (nodding): "She's a heck of a boxer. What she DOESN'T have is my power. And, sooner or later, I was going to take advantage of that."

Cassie: "Lots of changes coming around here. How are you feeling about those?"

Katy (smiling): "Just fine. What I've done speaks for itself. I'm not going anywhere any time soon, as much as I know that disappoints SOME people."
