BEFORE

Debbe Dunning is at the podium. Charlize is nowhere to be seen. Debbe “Charlize and I go back a long way. Our first fight was in November 1999. She won the bout, but I had to fight the night before. Two fights in two days. That’s what you had to do to survive back in those days. Over the years,, we fought five times I won one. After six years actively fighting I took couple years off and in 2010 I fought a series of fights. I missed fighting and finally I got a bout last year, then I was at that Krupa fight and saw the terrible beating Charlize took. Actually I was horrified. I knew her career was over but how wrong I was. When she continued her winning ways I thought I have a good chance of beating her so I want into serious training and when I thought I was ready I gave her a call. That was two weeks ago. She told me that I was too old and hadn’t fought much and she would not fight me. She would be criticized for an easy fight. I told her I couldn’t blame her because she didn’t want an old has been beating her into retirement. There was silence on the phone, then she said in a very cold voice “Beach in ten days, be there” So here I am.” Still no sign of the Golden Goddess

THE FIGHT

Dunning enters the ring wearing a gold bikini, gold glove and boots. Her hair is short. Theron comes in wearing the usual red bikini with red gloves and boots Her hair is in a ponytail

Round 1. The two meet in the center of the ring, touch gloves and back off. Charlize makes the first move with a right jab to Dunning’s face and follows up with two more. Dunning tries to move in on Theron and is again rejected with jabs to her face. Dunning then closes and dips under the Theron’s guard and lands a couple of lefts and rights to the midsection. Charlize backs off and suddenly moves in with a right cross to the jaw, then a left and another right. She is driving Dunning back to the ropes. Dunning with her back to the ropes manages to land an overhand right to the Theron’s face that knocks her back a step. Theron takes a deep breath and moves back in and land a left-right-left to Debbe’s head. Debbe somehow manages a straight right to Theron’s bra stopping her but only for seconds and Charlize is back this time rips right and left hooks to the body. Dunning throws a wild right that misses, but backs Theron off. Again Theron moves back in with hooks to the body. The bell rings ending the round. In her corner, Charlize is telling Lawrence that there is not a lot of power behind Debbe’s punches.

Round 2. Debbe surprises her blonde opponent by swiftly coming out of her corner and needing Theron on Theron’s side of ring center. She lands a left-right to Theron’s face, a hook to the midsection and then two straight punches to the Charlize’s bra. She knows that had to hurt, but to her surprise the great blonde doesn’t back off and instead goes into a slugging mode and drives her back across the ring with one cross after another. With her back to the ropes, Dunning manages to land an overhand right to Charlize’s face, but that doesn’t stop Theron who is now working of Debbe’s body. A pair of hooks to the tummy, more to the midsection and then a pair of crosses to Debbe’s bra has her hurting. Dunning is bent over, her arms protecting her body and face but her head is now Theron’s target as the bell rings. In Theron’s corner Lawrence is all over Charlize wanting to know why Charlize is carrying her. She tells Charlize she expects her to put Dunning away in the next round. Charlize says she doesn’t want to hurt her too badly
Neve tells her to gut Dunning. Charlize reply that’s what she thought

Round 3. Dunning is slow out of her corner. Charlize waits in the center of the ring. When Debbe gets in punching range, Charlize uses her reach advantage peppering Debbe with jabs until she has Debbe on the ropes Debbe raises her guard to protect her face giving Charlize the target she wants. Theron slams a right deep into Dunning's solar plexus. As Debbe doubles over Charlize pushes her back up and repeats the punch to the solar plexus. Dunning collapses, laying on her side, her gloves covering her stomach, She’s gasping for breath. The referee quickly waives the fight over and Dunning corner is immediately going to work to restore her breathing. Theron watches for a minute or so and then looks down on her opponent and says “I’m sorry” and leaves the ring.

AFTER. Theron is at the table “I want to apologize to Debbe, her corner, my corner and all the fans that are here tonight. This is a fight that should have never happened. I originally turned her down but then she said something I didn’t like and in a flair of anger I made the mistake of changing my mind. A couple days later, I knew I should call the fight off but the publicity was out, tickets had been sold and I know Debbe would not agree to call off the bout. To all the fans that were here tonight, If you want your money back, notify the box office. I will do my best to see that your money is refunded and I will cover Debbe’s purse. It’s the right thing to do”. Debbe walks in. “I heard what you said on my way here. I agree, but I shouldn’t have put you in this position. I should have let you call off the bout. It was a pleasure to get into the ring with you at least for the first minute. Remind me not to do it again.
