BEFORE: It's been six years since Mollie King last featured in a BBU championship fight but the former The Saturdays singer believes she's on the verge of another opportunity like that if she beats the resident elite benchmark in Lily Allen tonight. The Hammersmith brunette is maybe on a three-fight losing streak right now but she's apparently trimmed down to a contending weight and vows to make a serious challenge at the straps herself. Her last BBU victory dates back to July 2019 and there are some voices on social media that question Allen's true performance level in her age 37 season.

Round 1:
Lily wants to silence the critics and engages in a hard-slugging attack in the opening minute. She drills her mitts straight into the blonde's face and rocks her head back so frequently that Mollie's ex-bandmate Rochelle Humes - acting as special corner advisor - tells her to get out of there and fast! However Lily dominates the close range tussle and barges Mollie onto the ropes where she adds more slugging pressure up the middle and buries the younger singer behind a desperate earmuff. Uh-oh! Mollie hardly packs a punch in response and weaves around on her feet just trying to hang on until the bell. Lily doesn't run out of gas here and keeps picking the subdued opponent off until she's finally pulled away by the referee at the bell.

Round 2:
Mollie shakes off that woeful opening round display and brings on the slugging heat as both singers dish out crowd-pleasing punishment that results in Lily getting cut under the left eye in the process. King steers her attacks with a better precision and outworks the otherwise aggressive brunette and Lily just refuses to back off for her own good. She wants to build on that opening round success and leans into her foe but she fails to break Mollie's resistance this time and gets dwarfed into an earmuff cover instead as the blonde delivers a brutally effective jabbing drive to bend Allen to the side and pummel her onto the turnbuckle come the final minute. Lily swings from behind the guard but lacks genuine connection so King easily keeps her under the cosh for remainder of the round.

Round 3:
FCUK manager Katie Price is no stranger to making questionable tactical decisions but she wants Lily to let it rip through the blonde singer so the Cardiff audience is dealt another slugging hand. Lily knocks Mollie's head back at first but suddenly develops a second bloody cut under the other eye as the blonde's overhand response proves superior and grinds the brunette into a halt in the center of the ring. Ugh! Lily starts to feel the heat and tries to think better off it alas Mollie drops her onto the ropes with a supreme head-hunting delivery and forces the older singer into a spooked retreat afterwards. Allen escapes the trap at the ropes but refuses to engage in another slugging dispute during the final minute which makes Katie Price really upset in the FCUK corner.

Round 4:
Mollie bangs more leather into Lily's face and cripples her into loud spasms when she lands a ruthless left/right combo on the nose before a looping shot on the ear triggers a rolling the curtains moment for the dark-haired singer. Lily tries to push off her heels but her weight balance is all wrong and she gets busted by a left hook on the mouth that DROPS HER ONTO HER BACK with the help of gravity! Uh-oh!! Talk about turning the tables on the feisty operator. Allen takes her time before getting up but she's getting no favors from Mollie when the fight is resumed following a quick eight count. The Surrey woman blows up more head shots on target and backs the brunette onto the ropes where she keeps riding the hot hand but finds a matching attempt from the desperate opponent. Lily seeks that lucky punch escape but only eats one brutal hook on the ear... followed by another... she wobbles forward with a whimper and meets a terminal uppercut on the jaw that PUTS HER DOWN on the spot!!! Down and OUT as she remains unresponsive during the count so the referee waves off the bout at six. KO4 Mollie King!!!

AFTER: Don't look now but Mollie might have earned herself the next title shot following tonight's performance. She's won eight of her last nine bouts which is as good as it gets in the usually crowded flyweight division. The Surrey blonde tones down the expectations while talking to BBU TV's Charlie Webster however bandmate Rochelle Humes interrupts the interview and calls out Ivana Baquero: "Grow a pair and do the right thing, you Spanish witch!". Both bandmates then burst into laughter and Mollie blows a kiss to the camera to cap off her successful night.

The only question remains - what if Holly Hagan actually becomes the new flyweight champion tonight?
