Chloe: 24 YO, 5’4 (1.63 m), 16-16-0.18 KO since 2017, Lioness Club of America

Before: Two young flyweights meet as they both eager to show their management they signed the right fighter. Speaking to the press ahead of the bout Brec Bassinger says:

“It’s important that I show I can beat my peers. Chloe has actually been in the longer than I have and she’s the kind of slightly higher level fighter I need to beat.”

Chloe seems a bit miffed at Brec’s remarks: “As far as I’m concerned I am a lot more than ‘slightly higher’ in the Flyweight Division than she is. I have scored wins against Jenna Coleman and Maisie Williams this year. I admit I have had my struggles. I lost to Juno Temple last time out, but I am not about to let that happen again.”

Moving on to the CBAD Arena Ring we find Chloe entering wearing a gold trimmed one piece with gold and orange pattern. Gold gloves and boots with her hair in a battle braid. Brec in a black one piece with white gloves and boots (black laces). Brec’s hair piled up in a top knot. Both fighters look eager to go and jostle each other during ring instructions, drawing rebukes from the referee. Finally instructions are done and gloves are slapped together. Fighters go to their corners to impatiently await the bell. It rings…

R1: Brec and Chloe move straight for each other at the bell. Brec crouching down trying to come up on the taller Chloe with punches into her chin. Chloe trying to sidestep these while targeting Brec’s head with some solid whacks. Brec backs off circles and then comes in swinging for Chloe’s jaw and connecting. Chloe knocked back, but stuffs Brec to the midsection with a solid right hook, then bangs a left off the side of Brec’s head. However Brec finds Chloe’s chin with a solid right/left combo and she’s pushing a dazed Chloe back with more rights and lefts to the head. Chloe finally able to get her mitts up to protect her head and even sting Brec to the mouth late. Close round, but the judges give to Brec Bassinger.

R2: CGM goes right for Brec’s jaw early and lands a head swiveling right. Brec momentarily frozen and Chloe adds quick blows to the jaw and cheekbones. Brec snaps out of it, gets her mitts up to protect her head and backs out of there. Chloe not about to let Brec get away, follows and now strikes at Brec to the body. Brec offering some countering jabs to Chloes face, but a whack off the chin from a CGM right has Brec falling back again. Chloe working Brec’s to the body as the round ends. Chloe Grace Moretz wins this round wide.

R3: Brec coming out aggressive this round. She makes some feints towards Chloe’s head, but really digs in with hooks to the body. Chloe getting punished hard to the chest, ribs and stomach in a methodical Bassinger beating. However Chloe able to get in solid counters off Brec’s jaw to disrupt the body busting. Chloe starts forward trying to land more punches against Brec to the head, but gets blocked. Then Brec stuffs a big nasty right hook into Chloe’s stomach, tipping her forward and then Brec brings rising punches into Chloe’s vulnerable chest, really knocking those young juggs around. Chloe bangs back with a blow to Brec’s head, but Brec shakes it off to maintain the body attack to the bell. Hard punching round, but judges rule that Brec Bassinger won it by a close margin.

R4: Chloe and Brec battle it out in the middle of the ring as soon as they can reach. Leather is flying fast and furious mostly to the head, but some body shots worked in as well. Brec trying to push Chloe back into the ropes Chloe banged hard with eft.rights to the jaw and then gets Bassinger hooks stuffed into her breadbasket, Chloe falling back steadily as Brec tries to herd her into the ropes. However Chloe gives Brec the slip and starts off to the right, then turns back as Brec is about to pursue. Chloe sees an opening and BANGS a hard right off Brec jaw staggering her. Chloe then fires in uppercuts to Brec’s chin AND DOWN GOES BREC BASSINGER! Brec takes a a seat on the cnvas with a bewildered look on her face. Chl0e gives her a satisfied sniff and the scuttles off to the neutral corner. Brec struggles to get up as the referee counts and she makes it up at “EIGHT!” Referee soon waves Chloe back in but Brec’s gone face-in-gloves and giving Chloe very little to work on. This gets Brec to the bell, ut the knockdown has ensured CGM will win the round wide.

R5: Chloe seems determined to finish Brec off this round, but Brec is not at all ready to give up. Brec fighting back, blocking shots and countering Chloe with the jab. Chloe now starts circling and counter circling, trying to draw Brec off balance, but Brec managing to avoid falling for the fancy footwork. Chloe then goes straight at Brec, trying to bash her way between the mitts of Brec’s high guard. Brec’s defense hold and a thwarted Chloe pauses to consider her next move. Bad mistake. Brec sees a gap in Chloe’s own high guard and blasts a straight right in that catches Chloe between the eyes, Chloe reels back and Brec now fires away with a storm of rights and lefts to Chloe’s jaw and chin. A final right uppercut snaps Chloe’s head back and seems to send an electric shock through her body. TIMBER! CHLOE CRASHES TO HER BACK! Her body bouncing on impact and then lies with arms and legs starfished out. Brec trots to the neutral corner and looks back hopefully. Referee is counting Chloe trying to rise but can’t seem to get her body to cooperate.

“NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!” cries the referee and it’s over!

THE WINNER: BREC BASSINGER DEFEATS CHLOE GRACE MORETZ KO6!

After: Happy night for Brec Bassinger as she is warmly congratulated by teammates Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson and Danielle Campbell. Brec keeping an eye on the LCA corner and as soon as she can see medical staff as cleared Chloe, she is across the ring to escort CGM on a Walk f Shame! Brec savoring every minute of the walk. Chloe looks devastated and you can tell she is wondering: “How did this happen?”

“What a night! Chloe was tough,” says Brec, “but I was tougher. I got knocked down, but I got up and in the very next round I got the knockout on her! I’ll remember this one for a long time!”

“She was lucky that’s all,” an unhappy Chloe Grace says later, “I stupidly paused in the 6th and she took full advantage. You can be sure Ill never make that mistake again. It was a very frustrating night.”

Fight was close most of the way, but the fight turned when Brec spotted a weakness in R6 and made Chloe pay for it. Both fighters showed talent and fans look forward to who they fight next.
