Pre-Fight:

“Well it’s been a rough slide for me recently for sure,” says Elyse in her baby blue robe. “Three straight losses and I’m 4-10 since my 3-0 debut in the league. So yeah, not great. But, I’ve fought Jennette before. She was my first ever fight and I just need to find a rhythm that works. I can’t get cute or get overwhelmed like in the McCurdy and Jacobs fights. I have to control the pace. It’s okay to lose a few rounds, as long as I don’t let Jennette take control. By the way, I am unbeaten in Pay-per-view fights...”

“I haven’t won an FCBA fight since… 2019 I think?” says Jennette in a black robe. “So you know, it’s been a while. She’s beaten me before but history suggests on the rematch I have the advantage. She’s susceptible to combos, so I need to get those working early and I think I’ll finish her off with my hook when it’s all said and done.”

The fighters come out to the ring as Elyse opts for the gold sports bra and baby blue shorts, the words “FREE” written across the belt. Jennete going with the black top and yellow bottoms, shadow boxing a bit in her corner.

R1:

The two blondes come out of the ring and tap gloves. Jennette circling, moving her more agile body around while Elyse slides with her. A few jabs from Jennette that Elyse is able to block. Elyse tries to land a few jabs of her own, but nothing doing as McCurdy slides out of the way.

Circling the center of the ring, both women smacking their gloves against the forearms and biceps of the other one. Some air hit here and there. Nothing clean just yet as the fight ticks into the second minute of the fight.

Jennete is able to sneak a nice right between Elyse’s guard that snaps the Canadian’s head back. Jennette comes in, trying to work the combos like she said pre-fight, but Elyse clinches and puts an end to the momentum. Maybe what she meant by allowing herself to lose a few rounds but control the momentum.

Ref breaks them apart and it’s Jennette on the attack again. Throwing grazing blows and finally Elyse steps up and is able to sneak a left uppercut to the body of McCurdy. McCurdy favoring her side a bit now as Elyse comes in to try to do some more damage, but the smaller blonde is too agile and slips free. Now it’s Elyse who is opened up as Jennete gets a few of those combos in as the round expires.

Close round, but McCurdy takes a 10-9 lead.

R2:

Not many fireworks to begin the second round as each boxer is being wary of the other. Jennette has yet to find a hole to sneak that left hook in, but she badly wants to. Instead she’s settling for combos that are getting gummed up in Elyse’s tight guard. Much better defense this fight than her last one against Cosgrove.

Willems meanwhile can’t get much of any offense going, as Jennette is being offensive to a point where she’s on her toes but not overextending herself and opening up her own guard. Elyse tries to swipe at the body again and Jennete finally sneaks in a left hook that smacks the Free Puncher’s head to the side. Now the guard drops.

Jennette comes in, left-left-right and a left uppercut that knocks Elyse to the ropes. Willems wisely grabs Jennette in the clench, suffocating the small offensive spark McCurdy had. The ref breaks them apart and Elyse finds a lane to slip away from the ropes. Jennette is frustrated now as Elyse is fighting smart.

McCurdy tries to land another combo, but Elyse ducks a right and sends one of her own straight to Jennette’s jaw. Now it’s McCurdy on her heels! Here comes Willems, a few left jabs walking the smaller blonde back and then Ba-Boom, an over-the-top sweeping right that gets McCurdy on the cheek. Elyse goes down to the body, ducks a hook, and finishes the round off with a clean uppercut to Jennette’s jaw.

Some more offense that round as it’s another close one, but we’re tied 19-19 at the end of round 2.

R3:

Jennette a little disheartened after that second round, but Elyse doesn’t come in full blitz mode. She makes McCurdy come to her. When she does, Willems uses her slight reach advantage to start peppering in jabs. Those jabs did McCurdy in their last fight and it seems Elyse is keen to keep going back to it.

Just heat-seeking missile after heat-seeking missile landing on Jennette’s nose. The blonde clearly getting frustrated by how easily Elyse keeps landing that jab. It’s taking its toll and opening up McCurdy’s guard a bit. But Elyse gets a little greedy and misses with a right. Now off-balance, Jennette comes in and counters with a beauty of a left hook. Elyse stumbling. She’s done such a good job controlling the pace of the fight but now it’s Jennette with momentum. Before Willems can go for another clinch Jennette fires off a one-two combo that leaves Elyse completely wide open.

Another left hook and now Willems is stumbling to the rope. Jennette sees the chance to put Elyse to sleep right now. Another brutal left hook and Willems laboring, stumbling across the ring as Jennette is following after her like a tiger after wounded prey. A nasty cut forming on Elyse’s brow as Jennette telegraphs a left hook that Elyse steps back from. Now Willems counters with an uppercut. Jennette dazed as she stumbles back. Here comes Willems!

Left-left-left-right uppercut. Jennete swings back with a right, smacking Elyse in the cheek. Now it’s McCurdy with the momentum as she overwhelms Elyse with combos, getting Elyse into a corner. McCurdy going to town, slamming her gloves all around Elyse’s body. Willems keeps the guard up though and finds an opening to clinch again. She pushes herself out of the corner and when the ref breaks them up is able to get in a right cross.

Offense being traded as it’s now Jennette on her heels once more. Elsye works her to the ropes and a few well-timed left uppercuts to the ribs ends the round.

A huge blitz from both women that ends with Jennette barely taking that round, 29-28 McCurdy.

R4:

The two blondes come out swinging to start round four. Peppering their gloves across one another’s body. Jennette with another huge left hook, but again Elyse skillfully steps back from it and finds the open lane to Jennette’s jaw.

Huge right uppercut from Willems and Jennette's head snaps back. Her momentum carries her down to the mat! She lands on it with a loud *THUNK*. Trying to get to all fours, but she collapses at the six count. She can’t get up!!!

WINNER VIA ROUND 4 KO: ELYSE WILLEMS

Post-Fight

“Just feels good to get a win,” says Elyse. “I really needed one and she fought me tough, but other than the end of round 3 I thought I controlled most of the pace of the fight. Uh, so I guess my unbeaten PPV streak is still alive and well and now it’s time to start a brand new winning streak.”

“I had my opportunities,” says Jennette. “Midway through round 3 I should have put her on the floor, but she found a way to fight through it. Those clinches really slowed me down and killed some of my momentum. Some will call that fighting scared… and I’m one of those people. I think she needed to grab me to stay in this fight because when she didn’t use that I was whooping her.”
