Pre-Fight:

“I said what I said in that interview,” says Chloe. “I worked her in the first fight and should have won. I’m going to work her in this fight and actually win this time. It’s time for me to take a step forward. And beating Elyse and getting above .500 is that step. I’m still only 24 and the way I’m talked about in this league is like I’ve flamed out or something. I think I have the ability to be a contender in this weight class. And that corner gets turned tonight. As for my opponent, I think she’s soft and lucky to even be one win below .500. I’m a much better fighter than her.”

“Chloe can run her mouth all she wants, I’m going to shut it,” says Elyse. “I don’t lose PPV fights and I don’t lose to little brats like Chloe. I don’t have much more to say about it other than I’m putting her lights out tonight.”

R1:

There’s a lot of tension in the air as these two fighters have made their personal feelings known over the last few weeks. Elyse comes out with white gloves and shorts with baby blue trim. Chloe opts for a dark purple get up. Each fighter has their hair pulled back in a ponytail.

The round starts with Chloe coming in aggressive, trying to use her superior speed and athleticism to get Elyse off of her toes. Elyse has different plans, however. As Chloe tries to dart in, the Free Puncher is able to keep her guard up and counter with a few effective jabs that snap Chloe’s head back. Moretz tries to fire off a combo, but Elyse once again keeps her block sturdy and lands two more jabs to the nose.

Chloe is forced to back off. She rolls her shoulders and bounces on her toes a bit. She fires off a few jabs that get through Elyse’s defense. Then She goes for a right hook that Elyse is able to duck. Willems follows the duck with a left to Chloe’s abdomen. Moretz’s mouth opens a little. Her frame bends slightly. Elyse tries to get an over-the-top right to Chloe’s cheek, but the Lioness brings her guard up just in time.

Elyse still controls the pace though, as she gets a few more jabs through Chloe’s defense. Moretz tries to counter back, but the jabs of Willems walk Chloe back towards the corner. The Lioness uses her speed to duck a few jabs and flee before she gets in a bad spot, but the bell rings with a fairly one sided result for the first round.

Willems up 10-9.

R2:

Elyse controlled the pacing of the first round and she starts out in a good spot the second round. She’s making it hard for Chloe to get off much defensively, as she keeps her guard finely tuned and then fires off frustrating jabs that Chloe doesn’t have an answer for.

Moretz looks frustrated, her hair a bit out of sorts and her nose scrunched up. Jab jab jab, three more nail her in the face. Elyse really doing some work now. As Chloe’s guard drifts up, Elyse goes to the body, landing a sweeping left to the blonde’s ribs. Chloe lets out a squeal as she bends to the side. She’s vulnerable. Here comes Elyse looking for something big.

But then a right uppercut from Chloe knocks Elyse back! Willems stumbling. Chloe hurt but has an opportunity. A right cross. Then a left. She ducks a counter hook and hits another uppercut! Elyse covers up as her backs hit the rope. Chloe fires off combos. Left jabs and right straights trying to break down Elyse’s defense. When that doesn’t work, she goes to the body and alternates left and right hooks into the Free Puncher’s ribs.

The bell rings as Chloe comes from behind to win the round, 19-19 all.

R3:

Elyse comes out aggressive, working her jab to try to make up for that last round. Chloe’s feet are active, and she’s moving her head better now. She avoids a few jabs and is able to counter with some of her own. Both women moving in and out of the center of the ring, trading light jabs and the occasional right hand. Neither one wants to get in too close.

The clock ticks on and it’s fairly even until Elyse makes a move, dodging a left to the side and getting a left hook of her own to Chloe’s cheek. The Lioness is brushed back, but Elyse comes in and fires off two left jabs and finishes with a right cross as the bell rings.

A competitive round, but Willems takes it and is up 29-28.

R4:

Chloe and Elyse settle into the middle of the ring, trading blows. Neither one of them is keen on dancing, but just want to prove they’re better than the other one. Chloe is firing off more punches, but not landing as many. Meanwhile it seems like Elyse’s jab just can’t miss for most of the round. She starts to take control until Chloe shows some fancy footwork and is able to slip away from a pressing Elyse.

Moretz counters with her own combos, getting Elyse back to the middle of the ring. But the guard of Willems becomes too tough to crack. Elyse counters. Then Chloe counters. They fire off punches back and forth until the bell rings.

A real muddled affair and nobody gets the round, but Willems stays up 39-38.

R5:

Elyse has had that jab working all fight, and she starts out landing a few of them on Chloe. Moretz brushed back a bit, but then she picks her moment to dodge one. Then she counters with a left cross that knocks Elyse back!

Willems on her heels. She tries to stand tall, but now Chloe is coming in with a flurry of punches. Elyse hits back with a right hook, but it doesn’t cause Moretz to back off. All it does is make the Lioness throw one of her own which snaps Elyse’s head to the side ant takes her to the ropes.

Elyse brings her guard up, but Chloe is wallopping her body. Left, right, left, right. Then she goes up stairs, a right cross, a left cross, right cross, left cross. Elyse flying from side to side, not moving at all otherwise. A left from Chloe causes Elyse’s entire guard to drop. Her head snaps back to the side as she leans against the ropes. She’s defenseless!

Chloe reaches back and fires a brutal right cross that snaps Elyse’s head back the opposite way. Elyse’s head bounces back for a moment… and then she collapses on the canvas. Eyes shut. Body limp.

Chloe lets out a roar as she raises her fists in the air. She doesn’t even look behind her to watch the count. She knows what it’s like to knock someone out cold. And that’s what she did. Sure enough the ref calls the fight as Chloe is facing her own corner with her hands in the air.

Then as her training staff rushes in to congratulate her she starts moving her right hand back and forth in a chopping motion, no doubt an homage to the 2021 World Series champs.

WINNER VIA KO IN ROUND 5: CHLOE GRACE MORETZ

Post-Fight:

“I TOLD YOU!!!” shouts Chloe. “Screw perception. Screw expectations. I came in to do one thing: Shut Elyse Willems the hell up! And I did exactly that! Talk about that undefeated record in pay per view fights now! Oh wait you can’t! Because I ended that streak! And I’ll gladly put her down again if she wants to try me!”

“You know, I thought it was a really close fight the first four rounds,” says Elyse. “She just outfought me in round five. She was quicker. She was stronger. She had better technique. I didn’t have an answer for her in that last round. She beat me badly. And that’s kind of all there is to it.”
