Before: After beating Nathalie Emmanuel in her debut match, Jessica was hungry for more but her next opponent wasn’t just another rookie. Tonight she is facing Cobie Smulders of MCU face in her 36th match. The nearly 40-year-old actress is still an active participant in the FCBA, however, her age is starting to show as she hasn’t won a match since her 2013 bout against Kaley Cuoco, which was 11 fights ago. Jessica is certainly looking to take advantage of the ageing fighter but with her lack of experience, it might prove a tough challenge.

“Beating Nathalie gave me a lot of confidence but I’m still a bit nervous. I’m as prepared as I’m going to get so let’s not waste time and get the show on the road,” says Jessica

“So now they’re putting rookies in the ring with me. Sure she beat some girl who can barely keep her arms up but I’ve been here for a long time and I know my way around the ring. I hope she puts up a good fight before hitting the canvas.” Cobie responds with a glare before entering the ring in a dark blue bra and panties and matching gloves. Jessica is in a similar outfit, a white strapless bra, black panties and gloves.

Round 1: Jessica displays what she's learned, good footwork as she hops around the ring, trading economically trying not to get too ambitious. Simple dips, in and out, jabbing for Cobie's nose, gets clipped a few times but covers up well. Cobie doesn't make it easy, defending well and countering but always one step behind her young opponent. Jessica finds an opening, rips into Cobie's gut, she's looking perplexed, absorbs another hook to the face. Jess looking for another follow-up but Cobie regains her senses, gets out of the way and counters with a right to her ribs. A quick learner, Jessica doesn't try her chances a second time, keeps her distance, looking for more openings. She spruces up Cobie's jaw with a one-two making the older actress step back, attempting to push her to ropes where she can work her body but runs out of time as round one comes to an end.

Round 2: Both girls get out of their corners quickly and Cobie gets a one-up on the redhead, dodging both of her hooks and countering, chugging uppercuts into her gut. Panicked, Jessica covers up but leaves her face wide open and suffers a straight right to her mouth. She fires a series of jabs in an attempt to confuse Cobie and distance herself but the older actress dances around her punches and punishes her flanks. After taking a few shots to the ribs, Jess covers up and goes on the defensive fending off most of Cobie’s attacks but keeps getting pushed backwards not realising that she cornered herself. Cobie takes advantage of the situation, ripping hooks to the confused redhead’s body then jabbing at her nose. Jessica manages to push her off and get out of the corner, looking worse for wear yet still keen on fighting. She trades punches with Cobie, throws the older actress off balance, makes her nose bleed with a simple one-two but still loses the round despite her late effort.

Round 3: Jessica fights back, she's slightly shaken up but happy to trade hands with Cobie, jabbing for her nose and hooking for the body. Cobie refuses to give it but the redhead manages to get on top of her, Smulders steps out of the combat zone but Jess isn't having it, walking the older gal down, upping the jab and lashing her torso. Cobie tries to get out, evade and counter but Jess keeps busy not giving her a chance to strike back. Those hands keep coming one after another knocking Cobie’s head around, she’s stunned and disoriented, a final left seals the deal as she plummets to the canvas, breaking the ice for knockdowns. She’s on her feet at seven with a disappointed and vengeful look on her face, marches to Jessica, catching her off-guard with a pair of hooks to the tits, redhead bites back with an uppercut to her torso as fighters peck at each other’s breasts, ref steps it preventing a catfight. The final few seconds, round boils down to predatory circling before the break.

Round 4: The fight turns into a war of attrition as neither fighter wants to slow down despite taking a beating in previous rounds. Jess tags Cobie's chin with a big right hook, takes a left to the ribs in return. Cobie is denied a follow-up, gets knocked back with a one-two to the nose, covers up and circles around to punish red hair’s cheeks. Whenever one fighter would do something to get the advantage, the other would one-up her. Down the stretch, Jessica's youth gives her an advantage as the brunette starts looking gassed and wincing in protest, trying to keep her composure but her opponent’s youthfulness is getting the better of her. Jessica is on the prowl, punching the older actress backwards forcing her to fight from the ropes, Cobie on the defensive but plenty of punches slip past her guard. She drops her guard and makes a last stand, trading shots with Jess from the ropes, taking three times as many punches but manages to land an uppercut as Jessica stumbles backwards, Cobie with the follows and Jess is on her knees right before the bell. Last second upset puts Cobie back in the fight.

Round 5: After that last second shock Jessica is furious, trying to keep her cool but swinging wildly at the first opportunity, Cobie doing her best to stay out of red hair’s way but gets clipped one too many times, finds herself hitting the canvas thirty seconds in. It appears as though Cobie’s luck’s run out, she can’t do anything to prevent Jess from taking her apart, takes a series of uppercuts to the gut, another one to the chin. She sticks a couple of jabs to Jessica’s nose drawing blood but only agitating her further, taking a series of lefts in return. Hair messy, mouth open, mitts barely raised, Cobie looks finished, Jessica gives her a smirk before going to town on her body. Cobie accepts loss at this point but goes down swinging, tagging Jess’s chin, shoulders and tits before taking a pair of hooks and an uppercut to the jaw as her back hits the canvas. Dazed, looking up at the light Cobie thinks about getting back up but hears the words "You're out!" not having realised that ten seconds have already passed.

After: Considering how action-packed it was, no one expected this fight to go a full ten rounds but it was long enough for both fighters to show off their skills, particularly the young rookie, Jessica who continues to grow, currently sitting on two consecutive wins.

Cobie’s furious about the loss, but in no shape to do anything about it other than throw death stares at the redhair, who is too busy celebrating to notice.

“I was surprised how feisty she was for her age, but I knew I would outlast her. Maybe I made some rookie mistakes but it was all according to plan. All I know is that I’m two for two and ready for more, so bring it bitches.” Jessica says with a devilish smile.
