BEFORE: Mancunian glamour model Holly Peers enjoys her five minutes in the sun but many BBU pundits believe her lightweight reign might be terminated by the notorious fellow brunette Valentina Fradegrada who has dominated the Italian 130 lbs market in recent months. She also blasted out Miranda Kerr whom Peers vanquished to claim the straps herself. The stage was truly set for this particular match-up and the TIG entourage is happy to shut down the Fradegrada hype before it becomes "unbereable" to quote manager Melinda Messenger.

Round 1:
Valentina believes her FCBA background is enough to scare off the champion but Holly clatters into her like she's a random pick-up model so the crowd-pleasing action kicks off seconds after the bell and has the British brunette thumping hard leather up the middle. Valentina responds with similar intensity but bounces off the forearms too often and eats a left hook on the jaw that wobbles her into mid-range against her will. Holly charges ahead with more jabbing menace and keeps the Italian challenger at bay before looping more quick shots into her temples. Fradegrada tries to get back at the champion but gets phased out of the phone booth and shoved onto the ropes where Peers cleans out shop to carry the rounds on points.

Rounds 2 & 3:
Valentina's slugging response finds the range and allows her to rattle the champion off her comfort zone during the next two rounds. The methodical approach offers better revenue and frustrates Peers into some chaotic action. She bounces off the Italian wall in the second and eats a crippling hook on the jaw that almost sends her down for the count before a desperate clinch saves the day. However Holly comes back strong in the third only for Valentina to avoid significant damage and find an effective gut-checking series instead. Both women pack the mean punches in the proverbial phone booth before Holly cranks up the jabbing volume and wobbles the challenger back to the ropes in the closing stages. Fradegrada tries to salvage the artistic impression but walks into a nasty bomb on the brow ridge that cuts her up and has the IBB entourage fuming at the bell.

Rounds 4 & 5:
Full-time recovery from the challenger who is visibly upset over that allegedly lucky punch late in the third. Holly finds the slugging heat too hot to handle and bails into mid-distance almost too often as she allows the Italian to take over the momentum of the fight. That's never a good idea even if Valentina can't quite punish her beyond the point of no return. No need for that either as the ruthless pounce still overwhelms the champion and triggers several stalemate periods before Fradegrada whacks the fellow brunette in the gut and even tries to make some JMDD-like noise. She thumps Holly's rack for additional value and shoves her onto the turnbuckle where she hauls in more harpoons to bash the Brit's midsection into visible swelling at half-distance.

Round 6:
Holly has to hassle her efforts and she manages to flick a good series over the top before a proper hammer bomb lands on the Italian's nose and wobbles her onto her heels. Valentina tries to swing from the back foot but misses the target and soaks up a dose of jug muggin' reality as Peers clatters into her exposed bumpers without much resistance. She clobbers her onto the ropes outright and clips the chin from the inside as Fradegrada just can't gather her thoughts in time and leaks too many clean punches in a heads up slugging dispute. Holly bangs a low shot just above the waist-line as well and cleans out more of the challenger's tummy in the closing stages to restore championship order on the cards.

Round 7:
Valentina realizes she's lost the fear factor and cranks up the jabbing volume while still searching for that one-punch put away. She's unable to shake the Brit's jugs anymore and has to aim for a head-hunting breakthrough but suddenly Peers belts her up the gut instead and folds her into a brutal uppercut that zips past the high guard and DROPS FRADEGRADA FOR THE COUNT. Woof! That was a rocket shot that even caught the fans by surprise! Valentina never saw it coming and allthough she beats the count at seven there's a great deal of hollow in her eyes. She staggers to the side but the referee resumes the fight anyway and Holly just piles on more juice opening the cut around the left eye and pounding leather into the Italian's pretty face. Valentina bellows out onto the ropes and cannot hold her mitts in tact anymore as Peers runs riot to batter her into a standstill! AND THE REF STEPS IN just as the Italian model cried out in pain her loudest. Ugh! She bends to the side and slumps into the ref's arms and the fight is waved off!!! TKO7 and STILL the BBU lightweight champion Holly Peers!!!

AFTER: Technically nothing can eclipse the win over Miranda Kerr but this might be the second biggest victory for the Mancunian glamour model who put on a clinic to deny Valentina Fradegrada against the odds. Some pundits are still shocked the Bergamo native fell into a stoppage defeat after she claimed the scalps of Yvonne Strahovski and welter-based Alice Goodwin in the last three months. She is escorted back to her corner still feeling very dizzy indeed while the TIG entourage is free to celebrate another title defense. Melinda Messenger throws a verbal dart at the resident PageThree benchmark and claims Kelly Brook and Lucy Pinder crowd out the glamour model p4p podium and there is nothing Samantha Fox can do about it: "I heard India Reynolds is ready to get back in the ring and Rhian Sugden is still active but let's face it, we ARE the best glamour model stable in BBU, period!"
