Pre-Fight:

Scarlett’s reply to a question about almost signing with Free Punchers:

“Yeah well, obviously for those who don't know I was in fairly advanced talks with Free Punchers to join them once the news about Belle Boxers broke. I had meetings with Kerry Washington and J-Lo… and then, I don’t mind saying it, that snake Robbie came in out of nowhere and filled up my spot. I was all set to sign on the dotted line and I get a call saying how they’ve now filled up at the bantamweight position. So does this fight mean something to me? Definitely. I’m going to show Free Punchers that they made a mistake choosing her over me. And I’m going to show Margot just how badly karma stings.”

Margot’s reply to the rumors about her stealing Scarjo’s spot with her new stable:

“Steal a spot? I didn’t steal anything from her. Maybe if she was 6 years younger and didn’t have a record under .500 they would have signed her. But at the end of the day Free Punchers wanted an actual contender at bantamweight. That’s why I’m here and she’s not.”

Scarlett makes her way toward the ring stone-faced. Her trainers around her, she enters the ring with her robe, which is a shimmering royal blue. She keeps her hood up the entire time, glaring in no direction in particular, jaw clenched.

Robbie makes her way toward the ring and is all smiles. Hood down on her new pale gold robe. She waves her gloves towards the cheering crowd. When she gets in the ring she has her robe removed right away as she does some light shadow boxing and turns to greet the crowd in her all-white getup. Blonde hair pulled back.

Scarlett’s eyes now lock in on Margot. After the rules, she has her robe removed. Blue gloves, shorts, and sports bra. Her hair done up in a complicated but tight bun. The ref calls them together and the bell rings.

R1:

No tapping of the gloves here. The blondes are straight into it. Margot with a reach advantage that she tries to use early and often. Slicing through Scarlett’s guard with her jab. Scarjo tries to keep pace, but she doesn’t move like she used to. She eats a few jabs and has to re-tighten her guard. She throws some shots back, but nothing that seriously connects.

Robbie moves well. She circles around Johansson, firing off jab after jab. Johansson starts to look frustrated. She swings a right hook that Robbie ducks. Margot follows up with a nice right to the stomach. Scarlett lets out a small gasp, but brings her guard in tight as Robbie advances.

Margot throws a few dazzling combos, but Johansson’s defense holds firm. Scarlett even counters with a nice left at the end of the blitz. She ducks a right from Margot and snaps off two jabs that connect. Margot backs off and the bell rings.

Robbie with an early lead 10-9.

R2:

The Aussie actress replicates her template to start round two. She knows she has the range and the footspeed. So, she is content with wearing Scarlett down as best she can. Jab. Jab. Jab.

Scarjo though has tightened up her guard really well and nothing is squeaking by. She takes some abuse on the arms, but doesn’t let Margot get anything cheap. Robbie tries to find an opening, but she just can’t make much headway. She has to settle for pounding away at Scarlett’s guard. She hopes she can wear the older boxer down. A few lefts and then a right. All arm.

But it opens Margot up just enough to get popped by one of Scarjo’s jabs. Robbie’s head snaps back. Scarlett inside in a flash. She throws two more lefts before Margot wraps her up in a clinch. Scarlett tries to bang the inside of Margot’s body as best she can until the ref splits them up. Here comes Johansson now. Blistering speed at the end of the round. She walks Margot back as she’s landing some combos to the Free Puncher’s chin. Margot in full guard now as she gets pummeled on the ropes. The bell rings as Scarlett comes from behind to steal that round.

All tied up 19-19.

R3:

Scarlett comes out on a mission. She hurt Robbie last round. She wants to finish her this one. She ducks a couple of get-me-over hooks from Margot and then pounds the other blonde with two lefts to the ribs. Margot felt that one as her jaw drops open. Her guard drops a bit.

Right hook. Left hook.

Robbie stumbles into the corner. She’s reeling now. Scarlett pounds an uppercut into Margot’s gut. Then another one. Then another one. Robbie pulls the smaller fighter in with a clinch and just leans on her. Her face all contorted in pain. The ref separates them and Scarlett goes back to work. Brutally punishing the body of Margot with two more uppercut rights.

But Margot finds a smart left cross that cuts through the brutal beating. It’s enough to stun Scarjo for a second so Margot slips out of the corner and gets to the middle of the ring. Scarlett gets angry and she goes aggressive. Robbie though keeps her distance. Sliding around the ring. Sinking in jab after jab. It’s not enough to win the round, but it’s enough to get her out of danger until the next round.

Johansson up 29-28.

R4:

Robbie seems to have shaken off the cobwebs and she’s back to her strategy from the previous rounds. She’s moving and using her reach. Playing it by the book. Scarlett however, who was in hunt mode, finds a hard time re-adjusting back into defense.

Margot slides a couple of jabs through a sloppy guard. Then, she smells blood in the water. She comes in and lands a nice combo, but gets an uppercut to the chin for it. Scarlett now where she wanted. She gets a hook to land in Margot’s ribs. Her body is taking a beating. Johansson ducks a left and comes over the top with a right that wobbles Robbie.

The Aussie looks like she’s in trouble again, but with a savvy uppercut is able to turn the tables in a flash! Jab, jab, straight, jab, then she goes to the body. Now back up top. She has Johansson on her heels as she pounds away at her cheeks with alternating crosses. Scarlett falls into the ropes, barely catching herself as the bell rings.

Margot takes the round and ties it up 38-38.

R5:

Margot clearly is not happy with her strategy so far, so she opts for a more aggressive one. Tired of trying to lul Scarjo into a stupor, she comes out early and establishes her jab. Then she encroaches in on Scarlett’s reach. Ducking a right, weaving out of the way of a left, Margot fires off and pops a right into Scarlett’s nose.

Johansson covers up. Margot with alternating crosses that bounce off Scarlett’s gloves. She’s simply trying to force her way through her opponent’s guard now. Snapping off left, right, left. Scarlett is not okay with being a punching bag, though.

She wraps up Margot and pushes herself forward. Then she hits Robbie with a beautiful right hook that has the blonde staggered. Scarlett follows up with a left. Margot staggers the other way. She has to guard up and Scarjo is more than happy to work that ribcage again. Brutal rights dig in under Robbie’s elbows. The Free Puncher howls in pain as she begins to bend over.

An uppercut from Scarjo and Margot flies back into the corner. Hands on the top rope. She’s seconds from being finished!

*Ding-Ding*

The bell no doubt saving Robbie there from a wide open knockout invitation. Scarlett with the round, though clearly upset with the end result.

Johansson back up 48-47.

R6:

Despite almost getting finished off last round, Robbie comes out looking smooth. A few jabs and she moves from Scarlett’s reach. A few more jabs. Then she moves.

Johansson’s gloves are getting dangerously low. She lunged with a right hook that Margot easily dodges. Scarlett comes back with a heavy-handed left. Nothing but air. Robbie with the jabs. Over and over the jabs begin to work as Scarlett’s gloves begin to droop more and more.

Scarlett with one more heave with her right that Margot steps back and dodges. Then it’s left cross, right cross, and see ya later. Scarlett is down and her arms are moving like they’re in molasses as they try to push her up. But it’s no use. 10 seconds in and she’s barely lifted her face off of the canvas.

WINNER VIA ROUND 6 KO: MARGOT ROBBIE

Post-Fight:

Margot’s first post-match humiliation as a Free Puncher and she makes sure she rubs it in. After getting her gloves off, she approaches the still-downed Scarjo. Then, she takes Scarlett’s waist and prompts it up so that her butt sticks up in the air while her cheek is still on the canvas. Margot takes a seat, crosses her own leg over onto her knee and poses with her fist on her chin for the cameras. Then, Margot takes a handful of Scarlett’s hair and drags her around the ring while she waves to her adoring fans.
