Victoria’s Secret War in Heaven II: Grand Finals

1. Romee Strijd vs Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (3rd Placing)

Romee:
(26, 5’11, 16:11 FCBA, Lioness Club)

Rosie:
(34, 5’9, 19:15 FCBA, Fates Boxing)

BEFORE:
“Hmrmph. I don’t like being in third place,” Rosie says with a curt shake of the head earlier during the press conference. “I should be the one in the Finals later tonight. I still think Nina got lucky, and win or lose, she and I are gonna have that rubber match to decide who’s better.”

Romee Strijd also agreeing from across the room, nodding along as she takes her turn at the mic: “I was touted as the underdog this whole tournament. Just look how far I’ve made it. If third place is the highest I can go, so be it. The next time, however, I’m beating Adriana’s old arse into the ground.”

Tonight, Rosie and Romee have lesser stakes to fight over, but stakes they are. Romee coming in two-inches taller but their mutual builds are lean and slender, meaning this might be a most interesting match-up once the bell rings.

Hours later, Romee’s making one last strut into the arena in a pink bra and panties set, her grandest Victoria’s Secret garb attached to her back in a flourish of golden and white feathers. Rosie coming in next, also striking a pose on the stage before fireworks and glitter bombs explode on either side. The Fates superstarlet is wearing an all-white corset and briefs for her fight. Once in the ring, Romee straps on orange gloves, to Rosie’s red.

Referee waves for the opening bell, and HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Lightweight action! This here’s for the Third Place finale of the Victoria’s Secret War in Heaven II boxing tournament!

ROUND 1:
Romee’s using her reach advantage to tag Rosie on the cheek repeatedly, even as both lanky girls strode in earlier to engage at the same time. Romee may have fallen short of securing the gold in this tournament but that isn’t stopping her from pounding away on Rosie’s arms, eager to secure third place if it means it isn’t fourth. Rosie’s surprised by the fellow blonde’s tenacity, locking arms over her face but still getting tossed about by Romee’s powerful hooks. Last minute and Rosie manages to establish some distance, jabbing back at Romee to keep her from getting completely in her face.

ROUND 2:
Rosie keeps up her stronger footwork as she stays away and lands jabs to Romee’s face. Third one lands and Romee’s growling in frustration - she’s the girl with the longer reach advantage, and yet Rosie’s faster movements result in her being outboxed. Strijd is still relying on her power to get the job done, blasting uppercuts to the body whenever she’s in range but Rosie not taking the bait to lower her arms and take similar abuse to her nose or chin. Rosie takes the nod wide at the sound of the bell, landing enough jabs on Romee’s face to win the round.

ROUND 3:
Same strategy here as Romee can’t seem to catch up to the Fates superstarlet, despite her best efforts. Strijd might be packing more height and power but that’s why she’s failing to pin Rosie down, each time rapidly charging Huntington down only to have Rosie slip to the left or right before eating a shot off the head instead. Huntington-Whiteley shows off her expert form as she continues to run circles around Romee’s stationary frame, by contrast. Towards the end of the round, however, Rosie gets a little cocky, driving hooks into Romee’s arms to try and drive the bigger girl back, though Strijd’s far from beaten down, with the Lioness girl taking the abuse before driving her own straight cross into Rosie’s lips, stilling that thought in an instant! Rosie’s suddenly stumbling backwards, in shock! Romee’s fans let out a loud roar as she charges in after her foe, but the bell rings too soon, giving Rosie another wide round to her name!

ROUND 4:
Girls are a little wary after that last encounter, though Romee’s moving in with greater confidence now that her power is a proven factor. She takes her time now with throwing her shots, ramming straight hands into Rosie’s arms whenever she comes in range. Rosie, this time, is having trouble closing the distance and scoring jabs with Romee keeping her face hidden until the very last seconds of each encounter. Romee upsets the balance yet again after Rosie leaves herself open to counterattack, and a right hand is driven into her nose one more time. Rosie’s head gets pushed backwards with a grunt, her long legs trying to get away like last time. But Romee’s CHARGIN’ IN after her, aiming for the head! Rosie gets thrown left-to-right when another double-hook combo lands hard, before a final cross to the chin THROWS HER OFF HER FEET!! Rosie hits the ground on her back in a FLASH, and just like that, it’s a KNOCKDOWN for Romee Strijd! Lanky goddess is breathing hard as she buries her face in her hands, chest and stomach heaving up and down as the referee starts the count! Romee stumbles back to the neutral corner, beating her chest along the way, eager for more. And more she gets, when Huntington-Whiteley slowly gets back to her feet after the count of 8! Both these girls want more!

ROUND 5:
Romee rushes in at the sound of the bell, hoping to end this! Rosie lets out a grunt as the taller blonde CRASHES into her and immediately starts swinging at her body and arms, and all the Transformers actress and British model can do is cover her arms and head up and move! Thankfully, Strijd is a little winded herself, and after the first foray and the first minute of ramming her gloves into that toned tummy and more than one hook up high into the side of Rosie’s head, she’s slowing down herself. This leaves Huntington-Whiteley time to get away, and more importantly, land her own shots from a distance. It’s back to the first few rounds of this fight as Rosie’s crisp jabs make landfall, bunching up the cheek and even drawing sharp gasps from Romee’s lips when a couple of punches hit her on the chest. Strijd definitely packs power in her swings but that’s only if she can get her hands on her foe. For now, Rosie’s resisting well, turning the tables around and taking the round wide from under Romee’s feet!

ROUND 6:
Rosie just might take this third placing if Romee doesn’t up her game and nail her strat down. First minute and Huntington-Whiteley intends to do just that, skirting in fast and seeking that KO blow of her own design. She’s immediately hounding Romee to her head with a spectacular number of punches and combos tossed in, thinking Romee might be ready to go down for the count. Strijd, however, has other ideas, moving backwards but absorbing the damage with both arms locked over her face, biding her time to strike back when Rosie leaves herself wide open from a wide hook that sailed too high overhead - POWWW!! Romee lands a stiff hook off the chin, then another, and another, and suddenly, Rosie’s getting TOSSED into the ropes instead!! HERE COMES ROMEE, looking for blood! Huntington-Whiteley getting battered and bruised upon the ropes as Strijd buries shots into her stomach, then taking mighty swings to the Brit’s head to further spin her down the line along the ropes… Rosie’s certainly in trouble as she holds on for dear life, but is unable to resist Romee’s strength for long when she takes a nasty uppercut to the chin, WHICH CUTS HER STRINGS IN A FLASH!! DOWN ROSIE HUNTINGTON GOES, collapsing onto her side by the ropes, and this time, she stays down! Romee secures the second KNOCKDOWN in three rounds, and Rosie’s left flattened on the canvas, her eyelids fluttering in the wind! The referee starts the count but deep down, already knows how this one concludes! There’s the bell and ladies and gents, we have the third place winner of this tournament!

Official Decision: Romee Strijd defeats Rosie Huntington-Whiteley via KO6!

AFTER:

And that’s IT! Romee Strijd may not have made it to the Grand Finals but goddamn if the Lioness is gonna settle for fourth place! She parades around the ring with both hands raised in the air, breathing hard but a tired smile etched upon her face.

Meanwhile, Rosie is forced to collect her bearings, slowly regaining consciousness and pushing her aching body off the ground. The Fates superstar hasn’t had the best few months, recently falling to fellow stablemate Emily DiDonato, and now with her Alpha-Lightweight status further questioned.

“Not the best year, of course,” Rosie later shakes her head to a crowd of reporters by ring-side. “But I gave it my all. That’s my honest answer. And I’m still proud of my performance.”

On the other side of the ring, however, Romee Strijd is still beaming as she breaks from a tight embrace with her fight team to offer some comments of her own:

“Rosie fought hard, but I hit harder. Whoever wins later tonight, I want a match against her. I think I totally deserved to make it to the Finals, and want to prove it.”

Both blondes will have to wait a little longer before the Grand Finals of the VS tourney occur in a few minutes, with Adriana Lima and Nina Agdal fighting for the ultimate title of Archangel! Stay tuned!
