Brie Larson vs. Eliza Taylor (Results: Lookout. Words: Wiz)

BEFORE:

Rematch from the November pay-per-view, and the girl who ended up on the losing end of tghat one, Brie Larson, is spoiling for revenge. "Let's be clear. She didn't just get lucky. This girl can fight. But, the issue in November was that I made MISTAKES. Mistakes I will NOT make this time."

"Here's the thing," says Eliza with a smile. "Brie's ALREADY made a mistake. She signed to fight ME again. And, that's a mistake she's not going to recover from."

ROUND ONE:

There were lessons to be learned from the first fight, and Brie has taken those to heart. Taylor wants to come forward, get that power working for her, but Larson's having NONE of it. She's moving the feet constantly...and, just as importantly, the HEAD. Eliza can't square her up, can't find with the jab, can't get any offense going. Instead, it's Brie who's getting work done. She's popping that jab in Eliza's face, following with combinations, tossing the Aussie to the defensive again and again. Taylor getting a little frustrated at times...and sloppy as a result. All of which, of course, just plays right into Larson's hands as the American takes advantage of every opening, filling all of them with hard, accurate leather. When the bell rings, there's no doubt about the result. It's Brie and wide to grab the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Larson just rolling. It's clear she's done tons of video work in the last two months, and she's not going to repeat history. Instead, she's giving the Aussie beauty a licking, bouncing around, snapping off hard lefts, putting together excellent combinations, forcing her fellow blonde to cover up over and over again. Taylor landing the occasional hard shot, but it's all single-punch stuff, because, in general, she simply can't FIND Brie. Larson's corner all smiles as the round goes on. The fight plan is working and it's working to absolute perfection. As for the Aussie, she's resolute. She keeps working, keeps trying to find the American, and, when she can, she scores. But, it's nowhere near enough, so, when the bell rings, Larson's won it wide again and now leads 20-18.

ROUND THREE:

Taylor backs off the throttle and it makes a TON of difference. Instead of pressing forward, she's working the feet, looking to square, and, when she does, getting off and getting off quickly, knowing well that Brie isn't going to be at the center of her radar screen for long. For Larson's part, the war of movement continues. She's not going to sit down and slug with Eliza, because there's no percentage in it. Result of all this is the first good, two-way round of the bout, with both fighters managing to do some scoring, but no one able to really take control of the stanza. Late round sees some of the sharper exchanges of the contest so far, and Taylor gets the better of those, finally bringing the power to bear. At the bell, it's close, but it's the Aussie who takes the points and cuts the American's advantage to 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Eliza building off the late round stuff. She's getting things going in a major way now, finding with that left, dropping hard rights off it, backing up Brie, forcing her to cover up. And, the Aussie then ups the ante, beginning to work forward, sit down on some punches, bring that power to bear. Larson's forced completely onto the defensive. She's never hurt, mind, but the American is now spending much of her time making sure she avoids the big shot Taylor landed to end the last fight. And, that leaves the field clear for Eliza to get plenty of hard leather on target and take complete control of the stanza. Larson's corner not smiling now. Instead, they're shouting at their girl to MOVE, and, late in the round, Brie begins to do that more effectively. But, when the bell rings, Taylor's won the fourth wide and evened things at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

Larson moving more, but it's not helping over much. Taylor's got the range now. She's getting to her spots and getting off repeatedly, leaving the American playing defense again and again. It's becoming clear that Brie's going to have to commit in these situations, and, as the round goes on, she begins to do it, firing back with hard, accurate shot of her own. Result is several SCINTILLATING exchanges that get the crowd going, as the fighters land some absolutely BOMBS. Despite all the heavy leather, though, nobody's hurt, and as we roll into the final thirty seconds, things slow down a bit, with Larson back on the move and the Aussie willing to let her ride things out, feeling she has the round secured. And, Taylor isn't wrong. At the bell, Eliza's won her third straight, this one fairly wide, to pull into a 48-47 lead.

ROUND SIX:

Taylor pressuring. Brie holding her ground and banging back. And. HERE WE GO! It's HAMMER AND TONGS in there as the two blondes fire away, landing hard shot in quick flurries before moving, resetting, and tearing into one another once again. About midway through the round Taylor lands a SOLID shot that backs Brie up a step. Eliza steps right forward and EATS A BOOMING RIGHT HAND COUNTER FROM THE AMERICAN! Taylor wobbles, covers up and then is DROPPED by a BRILLIANT six-punch flurry from Larson! Taylor puddles at Brie's feet and the American leaps into the air pumping a gloved fist before heading to a neutral corner. Taylor begins stirring about half way through the count, but all the Aussie can manage to do is get to elbows and knees before it passes her by. It's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is Brie Larson!

AFTER:

Brie all smiles, though she's plenty scuffed. "I TOLD you," the American says. "This girl is plenty good. But, she's NOT as good as I am. I know how to beat her now. And, that's just what I did. And, it's what I'll do AGAIN if she's foolish enough to want a rubber match. I have her number now. I'm better. And, I can prove that as many times as she'd like."
