BEFORE:

"I've been waiting to make my debut for a long time," says Jessica with a smile. "And, this is, obviously, a huge opportunity for me. And, I WILL go out and show everyone why I ought to be managed. Count on it."

"No doubt this girl has the physicals," says Kennedy. "If she gets work, she'll beat people. But, she's not beating ME. Not tonight. Not EVER."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Short Skirt/Long Jacket' by Cake, and here comes the brunette beauty from Tasmania, Jessica Green!"

Tess: "Green's a girl who's been linked to possible signings at Front Street more than once..."

Cassie: "I can confirm she's definitely been involved in some discussions..."

McCarthy: "Then she's LUCKY Weirdo hasn't decided to RUIN her career!"

O'Dell: "Green into the ring and helped off with the robe and the crowd popping in a major way for Jessica in that seaweed green number..."

Oh the shark, babe

McCarthy: "I. WILL. SUE! They can't DO THIS TO ME!"

Cassie: "HERE we go..."

O'Dell: "That song you hear behind us is, of course..."

McCarthy: "MY SONG! It's MY SONG AND HE STOLE IT! I'll SUE! Siri, GET ME SIPOWICZ!"

Tess: "I'm not sure what a fictional police officer can do to help, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Shows what YOU know! Sipowicz is a Harvard law professor and he's won BIG cases..."

Cassie: "She means Dershowitz. And, don't worry, he's as likely to return her calls as Sipowicz..."

O'Dell (sighing): "The SONG is 'Mack the Knife' by Bobby Darin and that can only mean that Kennedy 'Mac The Knife' McMann is coming to the ring..."

McCarthy: "DON'T YOU CALL HER THAT! She's a FRAUD! A FRAUD!"

O'Dell: "Another year of this. Cassie, I'm going to need a whiskey dispenser installed right here at the broadcast position...preferably linked to a barrel in Pointy's spirits cellar..."

Cassie: "You might not be surprised to know that this COULD be arranged..."

O'Dell: "McMann into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd clearly liking Kennedy in that lavender number we've seen before. Ladies about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kennedy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "FRAUD! Green!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. McMann quickly to the jab. Kennedy likes to use that length, extend on punches, work at range, and the redhead's getting the jab on early, peppering the brunette with it, following on with hard right hands, tossing the Tasmanian beauty onto the defensive right away..."

McCarthy: "Typical for this FRAUD, picking on a newbie!"

O'Dell: "Green can't get anything going, because Kennedy's preempting her with that jab. It's constantly in the brunette's face, keeping her at bay and setting her up for those right hands. This is clinical stuff from McMann right now, ladies, clinical and very EFFECTIVE stuff..."

Tess: "And, this isn't the first time we've seen it from McMann."

O'Dell: "Heading into the final twenty seconds of the first, and Kennedy continuing to control things with that left hand. The brunette can not get out of neutral here, despite her best efforts. She's just backing and covering and trying to get something going with no success. There's the bell. McMann and wide in the first."

Cassie: "And, Kennedy takes the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second and Green moving now, circling, bouncing, jabbing, and it's making a difference. Now, Jessica's getting off square, forcing McMann to turn, getting her out of rhythm. And, now Green's getting the offense going, jabbing, bouncing forward for a quick flurry, then getting back on the move..."

McCarthy: "Kid can really move..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Very athletic, and she's using that to her advantage. McMann trying to match footwork, square up, but she's not having a lot of success getting it done. Instead, Green's moving well, avoiding that jab, and taking control of this round in a major way."

Cassie: "There's a reason this girl has been on our short list..."

O'Dell: "We're coming down the stretch in what's been an excellent second for the brunette. GOOD combination from Green, who's gaining confidence by the SECOND in there. And, another quick flurry for the Tasmanian before the bell ends the stanza. Not close. Green."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Green back on the move and McMann moving with. Kennedy plenty athletic as well, and she's working the feet, looking to square. Result is free flowing action with both fighters working hard to get to spots and getting off in combination when the do so. Good stuff, frankly."

Tess: "I was just about to say that. Green definitely has some tools..."

O'Dell: "Certainly seems to have plenty of them. Moving the feet, snapping out the jab, popping forward for quick flurries. Load of athleticism on display from the brunette. As for Kennedy, she's showing the skill and precision we're used to seeing from her as she works the hands and feet..."

McCarthy: "The only skill SHE has is grand larsoncy!"

Cassie: "Grand whatnow?"

McCarthy: "LARSONCY! Read a BOOK once in a while, Scabbo!"

O'Dell: "Final fifteen seconds of a very competitive third round. Nice combination from Green there. Jessica definitely feeling very comfortable now. McMann lands that left and drops a right in behind. Her best punch of the fight so far, and there's the bell. Close this time. Jessica. And Green moves into the 29-28 lead."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins the way the third ended, with good, two-way boxing between the two young lightweights. Brunette moving a bit more than the redhead, but both ladies using the feet to work to get to spots, then get off quickly with both hands. Again, it's good stuff."

McCarthy: "I'm liking this Green kid more and more. I might have to sign her to Sceej..."

Cassie: "Since you're the 'captain' now..."

McCarthy: "EXACTLY!"

O'Dell: "Fight ranging around the ring as both women look for position, play the geometry and the angles. Again, Green doing that surprisingly well for a fighter on the big stage for the first time. Sharp exchange there. Nobody hurt, but both fighters landed a couple of solid shots."

Tess: "Green looking more confident by the round here."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. But, McMann not rushing. She's fighting her fight here. Figured out how to deal with Green's movement, and now she's just working, letting it come to her. Ten seconds to go. Nice flurry by Kennedy there backed Jessica up a step and there's the bell. Close again. McMann. And we're even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Pattern set now. This fight is going to be a war of movement. Green very active for this division, on the toes at times, showing excellent hands and feet. McMann wants range, working the feet to square, using that jab, and, when she gets it on, she wastes no time following up."

Tess: "This has been a good fight. Green definitely not out of her depth here."

O'Dell: "She is absolutely not. She's gotten in rhythm here, shown plenty of skill and athleticism. Definitely the kind of performance that's going to turn heads, much like we've already seen from Barrett tonight. AND THERE'S A RIGHT HAND, MCMANN AND DOWN GOES JESSICA!"

Cassie: "What a SHOT!"

O'Dell: "Out of NOWHERE, McMann threads the needle and Green is down on her back. Ref's count at three. Four. Five. Jessica sits up at six. Seven. Green to her feet at eight. Ref gives her the mandatory, and ON COMES KENNEDY! McMann letting the hands go, driving the brunette into the ropes and ROCKING her with a right hand and then ANOTHER and it's OVER! The ref leaps in and its OVER..."

McCarthy: "HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE, REF! You SUCK! You SUCK!"

O'Dell: "And, your winner by TKO5 is Kennedy 'Mac The Knife' McMann!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kennedy McMann, and, Kennedy, first, nice win for you..."

Kennedy (nodding): "Yeah. She's a very athletic girl, a girl I've heard about a lot, and you can see why. She's got all the tools. She gets opportunities, she's going to win fights up here."

Tess: "You're one of those 'year three' girls that management at Front Street is expecting big things from in 2022..."

Kennedy (smiling): "Well, none of them have bigger expectations for me than I do for myself. It's time to keep working, keep getting better, and take that next step."
