BEFORE:

"I've been sitting back watching Natalie," says Emily with a smile. "She's doing pretty well for herself. And, let's face it. Everything SHE'S got, I'VE got. All I need are the opportunities. And, after my win tonight, I'm confident I'll start getting them!"

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's..."

McCarthy: "AWFUL! TERRIBLE! An assault on my OLFACTION!"

O'Dell (sighing): "The tune is called 'Spotless Mind', and the young lady singing it is on her way to the ring right now, Emily Alyn Lind!"

Tess: "And, as Emily mentioned in the pre-fight, she's the sister of Natalie Alyn Lind, a Top Twenty-Five bantam for Foxfire."

O'Dell: "Emily into the ring and helped off with the robe, and the crowd clearly liking what it sees of Ms. Lind in that black and white striped number. And, things getting quiet now, as we wait for Emily's opponent...and, that's 'Good 4 U' booming through the arena, and if that means what I think it means..."

Cassie: "Oh, but it DOES..."

O'Dell: "The singer of that tune is the newest Front Street bantamweight and here she comes, Olivia Rodrigo!"

Cassie: "AKA, 'The Murrieta Mauler'..."

McCarthy: "No WONDER Weirdo stole MY nickname and song..."

O'Dell: "Olivia bouncing down the aisle and climbing into the ring. She's helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal a Persian blue number that's getting plenty of love from the crowd. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Olivia. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. Rodrigo!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go. Rodrigo immediately on the move, and, no surprise there. Olivia plenty athletic and likes to fight on her toes. She's SMACKING that jab into the blonde's face, slowing her every time she tries to get into range. Emily aggressive, and that may be working against her right now..."

McCarthy: "That's what sometimes happens with newbies. Given time, she'll settle down."

O'Dell: "For the moment, though, Rodrigo taking advantage, though, of course, the brunette doesn't have a ton of experience herself. She's still only 18, hasn't even been fighting six months, and this is only her fifth time in the ring. But, she's looking like a veteran right now..."

Cassie: "Front Street actually signed Rodrigo back in AUGUST, BEFORE her first fight. But, the contract did not start until January first."

O'Dell: "Down the stretch in the first, and it's been almost all Olivia. Emily just can't get untracked at the moment, as that jab seems to be in her face constantly. Good flurry from Rodrigo, and there's the bell. Absolutely no doubt about it in the first. It's the brunette and wide."

Tess: "And, she leads 10-9."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Rodrigo moving, but Lind now settling down, looking to match footwork, square up and get off. Emily not quite as thickly built as her older sister, though that might come, but she's sturdy and looks to have some power in those hands. Blonde may be looking to bring that to bear..."

McCarthy: "What I can't BEAR is that this Rodrigo kid looked to have some talent and now she's going to be ruined by Weirdo and Campbell!"

O'Dell: "Lind finding her way here, getting her footing, so to speak. Starting to settle in. She's not chasing Rodrigo. Instead, she's moving with, jabbing, angling, looking to find and get off. This is good stuff from the blonde. Meanwhile, the brunette's getting work done as well..."

Tess: "Olivia's been impressive in her pre-Front Street career. 4-0..."

O'Dell: "Sure has, and she's demonstrating why right now. We're coming into the final seconds of the second-round. It's been good, two-way stuff throughout, with both fighters scoring in spots and nobody gaining much of an advantage. There's the bell. Close to Lind."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third verse, same as the second. Rodrigo moving, Emily moving with, looking for spots to get off in combination and having success doing that. For Olivia's part, she's got the jab working, she's landing solid right hands off it. Once again, good stuff from both these young fighters..."

Cassie: "And, like some other girls have already done tonight, Lind showing managers why she ought to be considered for a contract."

O'Dell: "Zero doubt about that. Zero. Blonde is showing plenty right now, hanging right with Rodrigo, who's made quite an impression in her very early days in the FCBA. Sharp exchange there and then another! Both ladies landing solid shot there. Nobody hurt, but everybody felt that."

Tess: "Definitely appears that Lind has some solid power."

O'Dell: "Sure does. We're down the stretch in the third. Good, two-way round here without a lot in it. Lind a solid right hand in that exchange and another in the next. Blonde getting rolling late here and there's the bell. Very close again, but it's Emily's round for the second time in a row."

McCarthy: "And, Lind has the 29-28 lead."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the fourth and RODRIGO ROCKS THE BLONDE WITH A LIGHTNING FLURRY! Right off the bell, the brunette staggers the blonde with a four-punch combination and Lind now backing and covering and taking a TON of leather from the brunette..."

Cassie: "The speed on that was something..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. And, Rodrigo now taking the fight to her rival. She's backed Emily into the ropes and she's letting her have it with both hands. Lind in the tight ear muff, jabbing back in spots, but mostly taking as Rodrigo keeps calling in artillery strike after artillery strike..."

McCarthy: "Kid doing a good job of riding this out, though..."

O'Dell: "Agreed, Mac. Olivia not getting sloppy, setting up punches very well, but Emily blocking, slipping, rolling with, limiting the damage. Ref looking in closely as the final seconds tick away here in the fourth, but the blonde's going to survive. There's the bell. Shutout, Rodrigo."

Tess: "And, we're even again, this time at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Rodrigo right back at the blonde to start the fifth. Emily giving ground, playing defense, legs still iffy at the moment. Olivia walking her down like a veteran, taking her time, setting up her shots. This is great stuff from the brunette, and, frankly, from the blonde as well, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Hasn't panicked. Keeps working. I like this kid."

O'Dell: "GOOD right hand from Olivia in that flurry. That may have shaken Emily a bit. Rodrigo keeping the pressure on and THERE'S A NASTY COMBINATION! The blonde staggers and DOWN GOES LIND! Emily down on her right side after another of those lightning-fast flurries from Olivia!"

Tess: "That might do it..."

O'Dell: "Rodrigo quickly to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Lind rolling to her belly at six. Seven. She's on all fours at eight. Looking over at the ropes, begins crawling that way. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Emily unable to make it to the ropes and pull herself up in time and it's OVER! And your winner by KO5 is 'The Murrieta Mauler', Olivia Rodrigo!"

McCarthy: "How many four-leaf clovers does Weirdo HAVE?"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Olivia Rodrigo, and, quite a Front Street debut for you..."

Olivia (smiling): "I've been waiting a long time to step into this ring, and I couldn't be more excited. This is a huge opportunity and I'm going to take full advantage of it."

Tess: "So, that's five wins in a row to start your career..."

Olivia (nodding): "And, I'm getting better and more confident every time out. I'm working hard. Learning more every day. So, watch out, bantamweight division. Olivia Rodrigo is HERE."
