BEFORE:

"Well, I'm of two minds about this," says Amelia with a smile. "I mean, Front Street was smart enough to bring me in here for my FCBA debut. But. If they were REALLY smart, they'd have SIGNED me instead of the girl I'm about to BEAT."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Too Hot To Touch' by Supernaut, and here comes the lovely Amelia Hamlin!"

Tess: "Hamlin, of course, comes from a well-known Hollywood bloodline and is the daughter of Lisa Rinna."

O'Dell: "And, she's wasting no time getting down the aisle and into the ring where she's helped off with the robe to reveal a slate gray number that has the crowd buzzing. And, now it gets quiet again as everyone waits for the reveal of Front Street's OTHER new member..."

Baby, it stung, now it's sweet

Watching you beg on your knees...

McCarthy: "ALSO horrible!"

O'Dell: "That is 'Vicious' you are hearing behind us, and, once again, if that means what I THINK it means..."

Cassie: "And, once again, it DOES..."

O'Dell: "Here comes the newest member of Front Street, Canadian beauty Tate McRae!"

Cassie" AKA, 'The Calgary Crusader'..."

McCarthy: "Does Weirdo just draw names out of a HAT?"

O'Dell: "Tate down the aisle and into the ring. She's helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve and the crowd LOVING the willowy brunette in that admiral blue number she's wearing. And, the ladies are about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Tate. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins between them? I'll guess Weirdo signed the WRONG girl. Hamlin!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Ladies working at range here. Tate moving extremely well. A former dancer with absolutely ridiculous athleticism and flexibility, you can already see, seconds into her first FCBA round, how effortless and smooth her movements are in there..."

McCarthy: "And, Hamlin a well built girl. 5'9", broad shouldered. A lot of length."

O'Dell: "No doubt some physicals there. And, at just 20, she may end up fighting some welterweight before her career's over. But, she's a solid light now, and she's working that length and that jab as Tate moves the feet, slips and dips, looks to get to spots where she can get off in combination."

Tess: "Both of these girls happy to do some feeling out."

O'Dell: "And, that's the way this round is going. Everybody probing, looking for weaknesses, trying to see what she might be able to get going as the fight goes on. Meanwhile, final seconds ticking away in the first and there's the bell. Absolutely nothing in it. Even round."

Cassie: "So, we're even at 10 on the cards."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Ladies at range to start things, but Amelia wants to change that. She's coming forward behind the jab, working to back Tate up. Hamlin getting inside now and banging away at short distances. Tate firing back. Hamlin tying up, wrestling around with the younger woman in there..."

McCarthy: "Kid's showing a lot of physicalness..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's hooking some body, shoving, shouldering. McRae off balance and out of sorts right now. She came to a boxing match and a wrestling match broke out. Good right hook, Hamlin as she backs up Tate. McRae giving some ground, trying to get some distance..."

Cassie: "Amelia has Tate off her game right now."

O'Dell: "And, she's taking control of this fight by wrestling and slopping on the inside. And, these tactics a surprise coming from a girl with the length that Amelia has. But, ranged boxing by the wayside, at least in the second. There's the bell, and there's no doubt about it. Amelia. Wide."

Tess: "And, Hamlin leads 20-19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "McRae on the move to start the third. She's giving ground, jabbing, bouncing on her toes, getting that left hand in Amelia's face. Hamlin wants to try to close, but it's not happening at the moment. Tate staying off square, being all hard to find at the moment, and it's working to her advantage."

Cassie: "This isn't really McRae's game. She's got power. Likes to play the boxer/puncher game."

O'Dell: "But, at the moment, she has to work for space, and she's doing it and doing it well. Hamlin now settling back to ranged boxing, and Tate willing to play this game. It's gun platform stuff now, as both brunettes work the jab, work to drop in right hands off them."

Tess: "Amelia's got good, quick hands."

O'Dell: "As does McRae. Ladies working on pretty even terms right now. Both getting some work done, nobody really taking control of this thing. Just ten seconds to go now in the third. Sharp combination by McRae. Hamlin a good right and Tate responds with one of her own and there's the bell. Close. Tate."

McCarthy: "And, we're even at 29."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth and the ladies at range once again. This is more like what we expected, at least as that first round went along. Two rangy brunettes working the jab, dropping right hands in behind them. Sharp exchange there and both fighters landed a good right hand."

McCarthy: "This Hamlin kid...if Palicki retires, I might have to sign her..."

O'Dell: "Amelia impressing tonight, no doubt of that. Moves well. Good quick hands. And definitely some SNAP behind those punches. The FCBA came into existence a little late for her mom, but at just 20 years of age, there's no doubt Amelia can have a nice career here..."

Tess: "Rinna was 38 the first time she got an FCBA fight, but she STILL managed to get 17 FCBA wins..."

O'Dell: "Well, I don't often wade into things like this, but, I firmly believe that Lisa Rinna would have been a champion if there had been an FCBA in the 80s and early-to-mid 90s. Meanwhile, we're down to just ten seconds to go in this stanza. Quick exchange there and another and there's the bell. Close again. Hamlin this time."

Cassie: "And Amelia back in the lead 39-38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Hamlin changes tactics to start the fifth. She's back to pushing forward behind the jab with even MORE aggression this time. She's getting inside, brawling, shoving, wrestling around in there. McRae again forced to the back foot. Definitely surprised by the adjustment..."

McCarthy: "Shouldn't be. This worked for Amelia in the second..."

O'Dell: "And, it's working now. Hamlin hooking the body, levering, keeping Tate off balance. McRae can't get the feet set right now. Needs to get back to giving ground and moving, because Amelia's taken over the round once again. Good right hook by Hamlin backed up Tate a step."

Cassie: "Tate banging back in spots, landing some solid stuff."

O'Dell: "She is, but Amelia getting much the better of it on these terms. Coming down the stretch in the fifth. Hamlin follows a good combination by tying up Tate. McRae shoved back. Amelia a good right hand and there's the bell. Not close in the fifth. Hamlin takes the points."

Tess: "And Hamlin in front by two, 49-47 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Amelia pushing forward again to start the sixth. McRae giving a little ground, using a drop step, wants a little range here and CLOCKS HAMLIN WITH A RIGHT HAND! Tate sets the feet and lands a COBRA STRIKE right hand and Hamlin is HURT and covering up!"

Tess: "Wow..."

O'Dell: "McRae letting the hands go now, driving Amelia backward with flurry after flurry of punches. She's getting a bit too aggressive, missing some, but enough is landing to force the older woman into the ropes. Amelia in a high guard, countering in spots. Tate looking to finish this thing..."

McCarthy: "Just wait for your spot and get her in the counter..."

O'Dell: "Amelia managing very well for a girl in her first FCBA fight. No panic. McRae settling down a little. Setting up her punches now. Landing a SOLID right hand that shook Hamlin. Ref looking in closely. But, the final seconds ticking away in the sixth and there's the bell. Tate. Wide."

Cassie: "But, Amelia still leads 58-57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Into the seventh and now it's TATE coming forward to start the round. The younger brunette SNAPPING that jab in Hamlin's face, backing her up with hard right hands. McRae has everything working right now. She's moving beautifully, squaring Amelia up, slipping any rejoinders Hamlin attempts..."

Cassie: "This girl is the best athlete Front Street has ever had. And, she might be the best athlete the FCBA has ever had."

O'Dell: "No doubt about the physicals. Just moves so beautifully. And, the hand speed is first rate. She's landing very, very well right now. Backs up Hamlin with a sharp combination, lands another and another! Amelia managing to stay off the ropes, but that's ALL she's getting done..."

Tess: "McRae the one getting physical now."

O'Dell: "Yes, she is, stepping to, working a little body, going right back upstairs. She's punishing Hamlin to both head and body now. Amelia tying up. Tate shoving off, landing a nice left hook. Final seconds tick off in the seventh and there's the bell. Shutout, McRae."

McCarthy: "And, we're even at 67."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "McRae again this aggressor to start the eighth. She's got Amelia on her heels and she's determined to keep her there, keeping up suppressive fire with both hands. Hamlin can't get off square, both because her own legs are still a little iffy and because Tate moves so well..."

McCarthy: "But, after all this noise from Weirdo's new toy, we're still even. Hamlin's fine. Just keep working."

O'Dell: "Hamlin backed up with a nice combination from Tate. McRae's left just snake-like. Out and back, in your face and the right coming in behind it before you can react and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND AND DOWN GOES HAMLIN! Oh, Tate snapped the head back with the left and then DETONATED the right on Amelia's chin!"

Cassie (singing): "Turn out the liggghhhtttsssss. The party's ohhhhverrrrr..."

O'Dell: "McRae to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Hamlin down and not moving at ALL. That was a CLEAN shot and it did PLENTY of damage. Seven. Eight. This is academic. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO8 is 'The Calgary Crusader' Tate McRae!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Tate McRae, and, Tate, I notice you went over to the corner to check on Amelia..."

Tate (nodding): "Yeah. Nothing personal there. She's a talented fighter. Has a future here if she gets work. She's fine. I just caught her a good one."

Tess: "You absolutely did and the result was an excellent start to your FCBA and Front Street careers..."

Tate (smling): "Yeah. This is what I've been thinking about since I signed here in November. Getting in here and getting a result on this card. Now, it's back to the gym to keep working and getting better and getting ready for my next fight."
